DS nurses about 5x a day, between 6am and 6pm, at 16mo. This sways pink, yes? So I should keep doing it? Where can I see stats on bf swaying?
I rea somewhere that you will have the same gender you are nursing, but don't know of that is old wives tale or not.
I'm trying to decide if I should keep it up, or wean. What if I go to exclusively pumping? Would that still sway pink just as much, or is nursing better?

It seems like whenever an informal poll is done on message boards of the gender of a baby conceived while Breastfeeding, it is boy more than girls..

The general principle is that anything that reduces fertility, sways girl. BR reduces fertility in some, thus swaying girl.

A lot of these things I don't yet have a full essay on but have explained in many threads so if you do a search, you will end up with tons of hits.
The thing with breastfeeding is that the group of women who breastfeed at all, let alone up to and while TTC, is statistically NOT representative of all women who TTC. In fact it's a pretty small minority really. So you cannot view "informal polls" or even formal ones as if they were blind, side by side studies. The group who TTC when breastfeeding, we believe is likely to be "set" for blue to begin with - they tend to be a little "crunchier", more concerned with health, and perhaps just a smidge more control-freak than the average gal on the streets.
Biologically, breastfeeding should sway pink because it reduces fertility overall and lowers blood sugar. If someone starts off 60% likely to have a boy and ends up 50% likely to have a boy, that's still an excellent sway tactic even if you cannot discern that from a brief analysis of the numbers.

I got one boy and one girl while breastfeeding and 3 boys without breastfeeding. There ARE no magic bullets but I do think it helped me.
