Why exactly does lower sperm count sway pink? Where did that info come from?

If we knew "why exactly" on any of these things there would be no need for this site. :)

There are tons of studies out there that show that men exposed to a variety of things that are harmful for sperm health and quality have more daughters than the population as a whole. These are a pretty diverse bunch of things, from lack of oxygen due to deep sea diving and flying fighter jets, to a variety of chemical exposures, to heat/pressure from distance running and biking and ballet dancing. The universal thread on all these things seems to be anything that is bad for sperm health and count seems to sway pink. We don't know how or why.

My plan for improving swaying as much as is possible, is that we emulate things that seem to work, even if we don't know why, without getting too hung up on our guesses about how they do seem to work. Reason being, once we "decide" how or why something sways, people then get too focused in on the explanation and kinda get tunnel vision about any other possibilities. People end up obsessing for thousands of hours about details that are almost certainly meaningless and basing their sways on theoretical premises and keeping things in "just in case they do something" is not going to help us figure out what the most effective tactics are.

So we do what seems to work and we watch and constantly reevaluate as we go to pick out the things that really seem to be working vs. that which is just background noise. As we fine tune things over time, even if it doesn't ever become apparent why, we will end up with the most effective sway that we are able to do. It's my hope at some point we will be able to figure out the whys and hows by focusing on the whats and whens. :)
