View Full Version : How strongly do you feel Preseed sways boy?

I really want to get pregnant this month. I know Preseed helped me to conceive my second son. It was taking me forever to get pregnant with him, but the first month using Preseed, I conceived.

I've been TTCing on and off (a couple of times we've taken long breaks because I got scared LOL). We've been using Sylk and I only conceived with it once, which ended in m/c. That made be a little bit afraid to use it again, although I'm 99% sure it couldn't have caused the m/c.

Anyway, I really want a girl but I'm considering using Preseed again. Do you think that's a really bad idea and it will sway strongly for a boy?

I've recently heard of lots of girl conceived with pre seed :)

Really?? Hmm...interesting!!

I really wanted to use Rephresh or Acijel, though and I don't think they are good with Preseed. Argh! :/

Yep I have, although I do feel it sways slightly more to boys than girls ;)

I wonder if you are worried about lack of cm maybe it would be better to not take antihistamines and let your body produce its own ewcm that would have a lower pH from the girl diet and supps as opposed to say using pre seed with a pH of at least 7?

There was this lady on IG who conceived 3 daughters with PreSeed. That's why I'm hesitating big time to use it! LOL!

My take on that is that many people with fertility issues such as low sperm count, are advised by their doctors to use preseed. These people are much more likely to conceive girls to begin with. So if someone who is "set" to produce girls conceives one on PreSeed, it isn't necessarily indicative of what the result would be in an average person let alone someone who was "set" to produce boys.

Yes, you cannot mix PreSeed and RepHresh/Acijel, it causes a chemical reaction that destroys sperm.

There is NO point in you using PreSeed and RepHresh/Acijel anyway. If you think low pH sways because X sperm like low pH, the PreSeed is just going to wreck the low pH and sway blue. And if you think low pH sways by reducing sperm numbers (like I do) then PreSeed is just going to help more sperm survive than it would otherwise and still will sway blue.

If you're in a hurry to get pg and Sylk skeeves you out, you would be better off using NOTHING than using PreSeed. PreSeed does not, in any way shape or form, sway pink, regardless of how many people used it prior to conceiving a girl.

As you may have guessed LOL I strongly urge anyone who has conceived boys (esp. more than one boy) to NOT use PreSeed if you want a daughter.

I don't think I will bother with pre seed this next attempt now lol because after much thinking I am wondering now if...

Not only pH levels on our natural ewcm but also the sodium/potassium content from swaying boy will hopefully be at a good level and by bringing in say pre seed which would not have those two things in it so why add it in? That is, of course if we have good ewcm!!! I am also going to NOT bd IF I have little ewcm - this happened this attempt and I was substituting with pre seed and bs to make up for that. So, if I do not get ewcm I am simply NOT trying...

If that is true (that sodium/potassium levels in CM sway blue) then you're right, PreSeed may not have those things in it.

However, if the idea that higher sperm numbers is what is swaying blue, then PreSeed will only help maximize those numbers by buffering the harshness of the vagina.

I do think you're onto something with the idea of not BDing without good EWCM. I think EWCM is 10 million times better for blue than PreSeed is. Even thoguh I hate to see people wait, it may be the right thing to do if you are really low on EWCM.

I"m sorry Becky!

Honestly, I was thinking about this the other day and I am coming around more and more to the idea that Preseed may be just what the doctor ordered for people not getting pg when swaying pink. If you're doing diet, antihistamines, abstinence/frequent release, cran/aspirin/aspartame, lowering blood sugar, and then the jellies on top of all that, it may just be too much. If you only switched from a jelly to Preseed, that would only help keep sperm alive to make it into the cervix and then they would still have to make it all the way through hostile CM to find the egg.

Wow - I dropped ALL of my swaying factors except the Diet Coke. All of it. Still not pregnant. Started spotting today. WTF? I'm about thisclose to ordering that Preseed. Scared, though, since I got my second boy using it.

:( Have you thought about talking to your doctor, just to make sure everythign is ok??

Remember, even a fully fertile couple can go for a few months before getting pg.

People conceive girls every day on PreSeed, they really do. It's no better for blue than your regular CM is and in fact it may be just what you need to help some of the swimmers survive till they get into the cervix.

KFX and hoping that this next month is it for you guys!!

Yes, she had me come in after the miscarriage for some testing. Everything looked fine. I know I ovulate, so I'm not sure what the deal is. It's always taken us a while to get pregnant, each time.

Has DH been tested?? The way you describe that, I could see that if he had low numbers/motility maybe some months are just better than others and those are the ones you finally end up conceiving in.

Do you think that if you have great EWCM during O it is best not to use something like pre seed, or do you think it won't hurt to add a little pre seed (when swaying blue).

Anna - I hope you get a bfp soon x

Anna ~ FX for you! If I am not pregnant this month I will be using preseed for TTC a girl.

My name is Becky. ;) I knew I shouldn't have used that screen name! Hahaha!! ;)

Anyway, thanks girls. Atomic - No DH hasn't been tested. I have wondered if he has lowish numbers, especially because he has a chronic pain condition that causes him to have to take meds regularly. :( It's weird - we can get pregnant, it just takes a little while. My first was a surprise but we weren't using anything for quite a while. My second we tried for like 6 months, which I suppose isn't outside the normal range. First try with preseed I got pregnant. The third (m/c) we tried for like 6 months, but had tried prior to that on and off so probably a total of 9 months - a year. BUT i was majorly swaying at first. I'm talking Acijel, lime, etc, etc. So, that may be a factor.

This time it's been about 4 months I think. Which I know isn't a crazy long time, so I'm hoping it's normal and I will be pregnant in the next couple months. It's so hard to decide is it's worth using Acijel. I can just see getting another boy and then blaming the Acijel. LOL Not that I wouldn't LOVE another boy, but you KWIM. ;)

Happyheart - How long have you been TTC, just out of curiosity? What made you decide to try Preseed, even though you are TTC girl?

Becky ~ We have only had one actual attempt being this month. However, I have been on the LE diet for 11 weeks (first attempt was going to be in august, but after charting I realized that I was having a 8 day luteal phase) and I went from 116 pounds to 105 pounds. It effected me so much and I decided that I needed to drop the diet after this attempt. I did and have gained 2 pounds back already. :) I am on clomid and since it dries me up so much I need to use something to help me conceive. Atomic recommends preseed and I totally agree with that. We did not use it this last attempt because I just wanted to try without it. If I am not pregnant I will be definitely using it next month. As for the rest of the sway, I most likely will go back on a semi-LE diet just for the two weeks after AF arrives.
GOOD LUCK!! :) :) :)

I think it's best to go au naturale if you have great, or even good EWCM. I love PreSeed but I think EWCM is better.

That actually makes total sense with low numbers, in the months you conceived, something happened that made his count go up just at the right time. His pH may be low from the pain meds and they can affect numbers as well. So the PreSeed was probably just the help the swimmers needed to get where they need to go.

4-6 months is def. in the wheelhouse of normal, and there are TONS of people swaying who go 9 months or more without getting pg.

I don't blame you at all for not wanting to use the PreSeed. Since you did conceive once before without Preseed, you can always just try being patient and seeing what happens next month...I know it's a super tough decision to make!!

Just for maximum clarity (happyheart I know that you know this already but for anyone else reading it who doesn't), when a person is on Clomid, they need to get pg as quickly as possible because it's not a good idea to be on Clomid for more than a few months. Clomid also makes the CM hostile in many people who take it. So I advise Preseed for both pink swayers and blue swayers who are taking Clomid, to maximize odds of pregnancy in a timely fashion and limit the amount of time anyone takes Clomid.

I know it's a bit late in the day but my DS was conceived using preseed, although we wanted a boy I wasn't aware of swaying at that time and I swayed boy in so many ways, especially with my diet. I will certainly be avoiding preseed next year.
