Good, bad or so-so for blue sway?
I remember a thread from other site that only home made mayonnaise is acceptable, but there was no further explanation. I assume it's acidifying, but on the other hand it's eggs and oil basically.

I like mayo, please give me green light! lol

Oooh, I want to know the answer to this as well. I sort of assumed it would be okay--eggs, oil, lemon... seems good, right? Maybe some kinds have too much sugar and you should find a more natural one?

I've looked on the label on mayo in my fridge: powdered yolk, mustard, vinegar, oil, sugar.
Hmmm, this does not sound good  From what I remember mustard is not OK for :ttcboy:? Or I confused it with something else?

Probably that's why home made mayo is better - I have recipe with whole eggs ( not just yolk - which was no-no in the other site bcos it's rich in magnesium), olive oil ( which is slightly acidifying) and lemon juice.
So eggs and lemon juice - we have at least 2 :bigboy: friendly ingredients?

Oh good heavens YES mayonnaise is just fine! Is there anything that's ok on that diet?? If you get the right kind it's very salty and a good source of Omega 3's...I think they sell olive-oil based mayo in the grocery store for those who want to concentrate on those healthy fats.

Good to get the green light for mayo. I can't live without that stuff! And I don't think I could eat it if I made it myself and saw it all blending together... eggs kind of gross me out. I tried to make home made egg nog once, and after a sip of it, I almost puked (it tasted fine, but I just couldn't get the thought of the raw egg out of my mind!) SO... homemade mayo would probably make me barf. I just pretend I don't know they are in store bought mayo!

That's good news! I'll try to get some with olive oil and whole eggs, but in the meantime I'll just eat the 1 that's already in the fridge

WOW I just reread this and I have to say loudly that I think avoiding olive oil for TTC blue is NOT smart at all. Whether it is acidifying or not, it is full of the healthy fats that your body uses to manufacture estrogen and testosterone from.

If you are concerned about olive oil there are other mayos on the market that are made from canola or veg oil but I hope that no one forgoes olive oil because of fears of pH.
