HEy everyone I just have a question. I have been looking at TONS of nubs and i have seen some variations. I was wondering if they matter? some nubs i see have 2 lines coming out and look more like this ==. while other nubs (like mine) look more like this --= .one line turning into 2. I guess it would be considered a forked nub? SO my question is if both the shapes are parallel to the spine is one more likely to be a girl than the other?? I think I might be more obsessive than anyone else has ever been about nubs! I'm embarrassed! I am in college and i have literally been staring at nubs instead of writing papers/ studying for finals!!! =) Thanks sooo much!

I think some look really long because the shot taken captures not only the nub but the movement as well, making it appear longer. I don't blame you for obsessing, I did the same. Just something you can do if you have a video and are a nut job (or nub job!) as I was. My tech did not get a good nub shot so I used the video to capture frame by frame with a software that I found online for free, it's called Free video to JPG converter and I ended up with more than 500 shots!!! I got at least 20 perfect nub shots from that, very clear. So, if obsessing is your thing, knock yourself out with this :)

I didn't get a video but the tech said that she thinks girl based on the angle when the spine was straight. She also said she couldn't get a picture of it cause baby was moving too much. So she gave me all the pics i have posted.

I will say that a forked nub could be either gender, but a nub guess from an experienced tech later in the 12th week or 13th week is often accurate.

I would go with the tech's guess. They have seen enough nubs :) Fx it is indeed your little girl.
