This is a vaginal u/s, so from everything I have read, it would be flipped. Based on my understanding of the theory, this looks like baby is on the right side of the picture (which would be left side of the uterus) so I'm guessing girl....?

It isn't where baby is attached but the placenta and you would need to ask your tech which side the placenta is attached as it's impossible to tell through this pic. Congratulations though :) xx

The PP is right. It has nothing to do where the baby is, it has to do with the future placenta site. At this stage though, the baby should be close to the future site of the placenta since the umbilical cord is so short!

Most u/s pictures that are posted with a Ramzi request cannot be used since we do not know the plane they were taken in. There are two main imaging planes in u/s. One is sagittal- where you cannot tell left and right, only up, down, anterior, and posterior. In the transverse plane, we can tell left and right. It doesn't matter if the image was taken transadbominal or transvaginal, if it was in transverse, left of the screen is right and vice versa. This holds true for all imaging (MRI, CT, etc.) Sagittal is the same as well for all imaging. If your picture was a true transverse, the right of the screen is your left. I can also see your baby next to a bright white area on the left (right side of image). This "might" be the future placenta site but without color doppler, I really can't tell- I'm sorry! I hope this made sense! I can say though, if this was true transverse, your baby looks to be attached to the left side of the sac.

I just had transvaginal Ultrasound and it's not flipped.. your baby is on the right hand side for sure. Over the tummy Ultrasound would be flipped. Mine was also transvaginal do you guys have any guesses about mine? 17539
