Tandjmom- I barely even swayed to be honest so havent posted my 'sway'. My dh got fed up with me becoming obsessed with it all and asked me to just leave it. However I did do a few things-

Lost 9lbs in 3 weeks leading upto O (low fat diet, still ate plenty of chicken and eggs)
1 attempt (2 day cut off)
DH ran 30 miles that week
Conceived 2nd month after mc.

Thanks for starting a new thread Bunny, we are a noisy lot aren't we? :)

Mumto3boys, good luck with your scan x

DH is home and I spend less time on computer when he's here, but my heart goes to PFP. Hope you are coping x. And also to all your ladies who will find out or confirm the sex of your babies. In the end, a baby is a baby and we are so blessed with each one of them, regardless of gender. x

Hey girls I'm back... Had an amazing afternoon celebrating with dh, the sonographer said she is 99% certain we have twin baby GIRLS in there! I am so shocked, I almost daren't believe it, we have just been eating our dinner with the hugest smiles on our faces! It's like being given a million pounds x

Congrats!! How exciting, and how wonderful you must be feeling right now! Praying for a healthy pregnancy and healthy twin girls!

Boy.
I knew we couldn't all hear girl...
Not sure after everything i believe in much anymore.
I'll be fine. I'm fine with a boy- not sure it'll be easy to cope with the idea of never having a daughter tho.
Please dont b sorry for me.
Might disappear for awhile- need some time

I am so terribly sorry :( Not because I 'feel sorry for you' but because I hurt for you. We've all experienced some degree of gender dreams and/or gender disappointment, that is why we are here. I know you will love this baby boy, and I pray that he is a huge blessing for you...but it is okay to hurt right now, and mourn never having a daughter. Heck, I have been for the past almost two years, not because I didn't love and adore DS2 but because of everything I wasn't going to have, and who knows I still may never have.

Take time and know we are here for you, wish we could be more so to be a shoulder to cry on. Did you ever tell your husband you went for this ultrasound?

Good morning! Off to my 20week ultrasound shortly. No nerves this time since I'm no longer hoping he turned in to a she. I've def come to terms with the fact that he is a he. Looking forward to seeing him this time without all of the emotion of last time. Have been thinking more & more lately about trying again & I really wish I could make that thought go away especially now while I'm still pregnant with him!!!! I would love nothing more than to see this baby boy & know my family is complete. Don't know that I will have that feeling but I'm very happy I'm having another boy. I can not wait to see how big he has gotten & count fingers & toes! Part of me wishes I could be having twins so I could have him & her but that wasn't in my cards. Hoping they give me a good 3d pict of him & I can figure out how to upload it! Hope everyone has a good day!

Good luck this week ladies!

Oh my...I need to get a life. LOL. I get so anxious for everyone, and feel complete joy and also heartbreak, depending on their outcomes, that this is all I dream about!!! Last night I couldn't escape the dreams, no matter how many times I woke up. At the end, I dreamed I opened up my envelope and found out we were having a boy....and that everyone else was having twin girls. :worry:

Mine too!!!!! I am sooooo nervous!!! Mine will be right about now in terms of time!! 4 hours ahead of Eastern Time! I am so nervous, after seeing many girl nubs turn into boy ones I am pretty sure mine will too. I am prepared to hear boy #3 but I am not prepared to deal with it and all the GD that comes with it :(

I am so nervous about the sex too. I have two boys who have specail needs due to dyspraxia. My baby is having genetics testing this week to test for fragile x as dyspraxia is a random thing - so how do I have two kids with it? It's more common in boys too. For so many reasons I really want a girl. If its a boy I feel I have been incredibly selfish because what if he has dyspraxia? It's not the end of the world but its not a easy life by a long shot :0/ I have to fight every day of my life just to get them the care they need

Thank you ladies ultrasound was great he is a wiggly & perfectly healthy little man! Turns out my placenta is right in front so I guess that's why I'm not feeling him as much. He was hiccupping while we were doing the ultrasound & I couldn't even feel it.

Told the kids & everyone Is happy except DD. Hoping our trip to Disney tomorrow will soften the blow. Decided to do a picture with my kids & have Mickey hold up a baby boy outfit to make an announcement. Really although mostly everyone knows I'm pregnant I haven't even announced it yet. Thinking that would be a cute & somewhat original way to announce this LO.

Probably wont be able to get back online till Friday so I will have my fingers crossed for all of you with scans & can't wait to check in than!! Good luck!!!!!!

dreams, so glad to hear your little boy is doing fine.

I haven't been feeling baby much either, Doctor said my placenta is in front which numbs the movements, which is a shame, but I always hear her little heart with a doppler and that helps me relax, even though the Doctor had a go at me and said that home dopplers only cause anxiety, but honestly, it's not about that for me, I'm just happy to lie down and listen to her heart at the end of the day, it always brings a smile to my face. This is my little bubba girls :) She is well, there's nothing to worry about, very active, scratching her head and nose (tech said she was wondering what happened to her penis! lol). Very reassuring hearing all is well. My placenta is posterior, which is curious as I thought it was anterior because she is so much quieter than the boys, at least for now! But he said she is swimming and very active so there's nothing to worry about. I got pics of hands and little feet and a potty shot just to have a look every now and then and believe it is true!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He meant to the mother because sometimes babies move to the back and you can't find a heartbeat and get anxious and worried for no reason. I find it reassuring but I know how some mums-to-be would call the Doctors anytime they couldn't find something! I mean, if the baby is moving, all should be well, that's what he said, not to trust dopplers too much.

Don't worry if you took the actual gender test like maternity 21 or others that are taken at the dr.s office. Mums test was a home kit, and not reliable. (Correct me if I'm wrong).. I had materni21 and was right!

I had my dr apt yesterday and they are sending me for another ultrasound on March 31 because the tech couldn't see the baby's arms?! I'm not too worried, my sister said she for sure saw both arms when she was scanning me! I'm glad I will get to see the baby again, but upset the dr was so heartless in telling me. He just said "oh looks like you need another scan because the tech couldn't see any upper extremities" WHAT?! If I hadn't seen her arms for myself at previous scans, I'd be so scared! (Ok, part of me still is a little worried).. But why not just say "we couldn't get all the right measurements"?? Anyway, besides that everything is going great over here!!

If it was Maternit21, Panorama or Harmony I think there is a much smaller chance of a test having wrong results. I don't trust the do your own testing at home type of thing, too much room for error, contamination, etc. I'm sure yours will be ok if it was taken by the Doctor, mine was fine with Harmony and I think someone else here had the Panorama and that was correct as well. x

So had my first really upsetting comment the other day. Told a supposed good friend of mine that baby was a boy & got a crappy response. She just had her first DD after 2 DS's & swears by having DH release than DTD (which is exactly what I wound up doing). She knew I wanted a girl really bad & that I was trying different things to sway. When I told her baby was a boy the response I got was that this proves its just a 50/50 shot & none of that stuff works. She is planning on having another child & wants a girl also so she than went on to say she will stick to the way she did it since that works(again I did do that also).

You know what how about just some compassion?? She knew how desperately I wanted baby to be a girl. Why feel the need to throw it in my face that everything I tried didn't work. Plus I did what she plans to do & that didn't work for me so why is she so sure that it will work for her again. It just really hurt my feelings. Now obviously she really isn't as good a friend as I thought, she had also told me before I was pregnant with this one that I shouldn't have anymore. I'm not a mean person & I don't like feeling this way but I can't help but hope her next kid is a boy.

Had fun with the kids at Disney, DD is doing much better with the fact that baby is a boy. Surprisingly Disney was a lot harder on me than I anticipated. Saw way too many adorable baby & toddler girls & it really broke my heart. Sorry for the downer post & thanks for letting me vent.

Dreams, It can't be easy to feel the way you're feeling and you should certainly expect better than that from a good friend. I would never put my friends down like that or say anything other than encouraging in that situation, after all you're still getting used to having another baby boy, as you said, no compassion. I'm sorry she made you feel that way but there will be people you think you can trust and they let you down. I'm glad DH is supporting you and that at least you are having fun with your family. A big hug and don't let people put you down, you are pregnant with a beautiful, healthy baby boy that will bring so much happiness to your life you will look back and see that you wouldn't want him to be anyone else other than himself. x

March 14th, 2014, 07:52 PM
Dreams529, what an awful thing for a friend to say. She obviously didn't listen well and wasn't being very compassionate. I kind of hope she has a boy next time too.

Thanks for mentioning how seeing little girls at Disney was tough. I'm having some heartache seeing little girls too. It's not that I'm not ok with having a boy but I still long for a girl. And that is so unlikely to happen. I try not to get carried away with the sadness, but it is there and it often shows up when I see a little girl.

I don't find myself longing for this little boy yet. I'm sad about that, I want to enjoy him, but it is hard to without knowing him. I can feel him moving sometimes now and I hoped that would help me feel more excited about him, but I'm still kind of in a space of not knowing. Maybe when I can sense more about him, like what positions he likes to be in and what music he likes, maybe then I'll feel more connected. I feel pretty confident that at latest when he is born I'll be over the moon for him. But not now.

Mumto3boys
March 15th, 2014, 05:05 AM
Not a friend - I have one of those and I deliberately chose not to tell her I wouldn't give her the satisfaction as she has previously rubbed in my face "I've got two girls, then I got my boy" so we're just the lucky ones!... or my other one "I got my girl first so I'm not to worried that this ones a boy"...although I'd rather another girl because their clothes a much prettier - seriously I couldn't care less about 'pink' clothes or how fun it is to paint nails - I have 3 boys she is going to be dainty but tough! she will kick a ball and jump in mud.... and if my boys want to play with her dolly's well so be it!.

Bunny, I can't wait to hear all about the reveal, I am excited for you, I bet everyone will be overjoyed :)

Momto3, I love that picture!!!!! That is the best one I have seen so far lol My Dr didn't give us a picture but he was trying to tell my husband about why she is a girl and DH told him that he already knows what a vajayjay looks like lol!!

Dreams, now I AM hoping your friend has a boy! That was really mean and inconsiderate of her to say something like that.

You know, I had struggled about posting the results on my FB page because I have friends who are still struggling with GD and I wanted to be respectful. I am not plastering it all over FB and I am not being mean about it either out of respect. But I also think that almost all my friends are over the moon for me and are happy I am having my DD, especially after the struggles I have had the past few months with moving and hubby and this pregnancy.
GD is one of the worst things that can happen to a woman carrying a child. It debilitates you and it gives nothing in return, it just takes and takes and takes but in the end WE as women triumph over GD because sooner or later we love our little ones to death and can't ever imagine life without them and that is what makes us stronger :hug2:

It's hard to know how to deal with this well. Have you picked out a name for baby yet? If so and it were me, I'd maybe post something along the lines of "expecting baby [name] in August" and leaving it at that rather than the "OMG!!!! A GIRL I'M SO HAPPY...". Dreams - I am so sorry. It is hard enough dealing with not getting a deeply desired gender and seeing little girls or boys to get that ache going in our hearts, without having someone - let alone a friend- make it worse. Hugs to you! I don't know her or what she is thinking but maybe it was such a sigh of relief that she got what she deeply desired that that is her way of covering it up? A sway is just a chance of increasing the odds of a certain sex, and for some, esp if they were doing complete opposites of what sways a certain sex it can work - but not always. There's so much more involved!! You just be happy and proud of your precious little baby boy!!

Gafan - hope you start feeling lots of love and connection to that sweet little boy! Grease is so right....GD is terrible. That's what I'm afraid of the most if this one is another boy. I know I will love him to pieces, but I don't want to constantly have that ache inside for a girl :( I hope you have a complete change of heart soon and have some peace and not get caught up with GD!!!

Gpkm - good luck! Can't wait to hear! :)

Love the pictures! I tried to upload our picture of our 10 week peanut afterwards but it wouldn't work. I'll try again after our 20 week.

I have an idea of how we are going to announce what we are having...but unfortunately it works best if its a girl lol. I'll have to get more creative if it's a boy. For most people, it will be the first time people have heard our news. (I think anyhow, my brother-in-laws wife is not too happy so she's working on spilling the beans for us..grr).

Not much new here, just trying to be patient for our ultrasound! I have definitely felt more movement this week so that makes things a lot more exciting. :) The past few weeks it's mainly just been quick flutters and such.

I'm very happy to be having this little man just wish he came with a little girl too. Trying very hard to just to push these feelings away & live in the moment but of course that's easier said than done. Thinking I have to stay far away from that so called friend for my own sanity. Your words really did help so much!!

Bunnywabbit your LO is absolutely adorable!! GPKM good luck on your scan tomorrow fingers crossed for you!!

Dreams, I really wish someone would have honestly told me how horrible GD is. I wish someone had told me that you won't fall in love instantly, you won't be able to get away from it, you will see it around you 10X worse than before you had it and that it's OK!!
Praying things get better for you dreams

aidansmum
March 16th, 2014, 06:05 PM
I won't be choosing a middle name as in my Country we don't usually give middle names, but rather the mother's surname, and then the father's, which I find pretty fair considering I'm the one who carries a baby for 9 months and go through all the agony of bringing it into the world lol. So, for example, she would be called Anya (or Olivia or Emily) Amorim (my maiden surname) Doyle (daddy's surname). But I would use my surname as a middle name because I don't want to hyphenate it and have the poor dear spell it for the rest of her life, so my maiden name becomes her middle name. Unusual when you live in australia, but I can't give up my maiden name like that and just use daddy's name, not fair in my mind (too feminist?lol)

Thanks girls! The hard thing about choosing an uncommon name is that you like it but you don't know what it sounds like to others. Thanks for your help. We might go with Anya I guess, I think it suits a child and it sounds so womanly and classic in an adult. Thanks again for your opinions!

It it wasn't for the risk of having her teased at school and being called `onion` I would chose Anya, definitely, but you know how mean kids can be! Even though, even kids with common names are teased for this or that reason, can you really escape it? It's such a big decision, but my favourite is definitely Anya.

I don't blame you Grease, I hardly bought anything until my 20 week scan where I could see the potty shot, even with the 99% accuracy Harmony gave me. I guess it doesn't hurt to be cautious! I'm making up for the lost time now though, gosh, she is going to be such a pink baby! :)

Grease- it took until my 20 week until I really started looking and buying! I also couldn't find any bedding it was driving me crazy. I went with the Glenna Jean Victorian collection. You can only purchase online I think. She has a really nice collection of bedding. Also posh tots.com but was very pricey. Love Zulily! And etsy!

I have been wanting a girl for so long, never thinking I would actually be lucky enough to have one, and I had the perfect name and everything and when I got the confirmation, everything went out the window!! I wanted to find her a new name and was extremely hard to find it. Now it seems like I am having a hard time finding things for her lol

When I would shop for my boys I would see SO many girly things and now I am seeing the opposite, more cut boy things lol

Hopefully once it's confirmed at my 20 week+ I can go shopping lol

Not a good sign :) Specially now that my toddler decided he's too big for nappies overnight and wakes me up 2 or 3 times to go to the toilet overnight! Proud of him in a way but so tired...just go ahead and wet the nappyyy!

I am 30 weeks today, on the 10 week countdown! I know I will miss being pregnant but I must believe we have much better days ahead of us. My dh is getting snipped and I have to sign a paper saying I agree we are done having kids...It's bittersweet, but happy my family is complete. Started washing all of her clothes, it still won't seem real until she is here:)

Hey ladies! How is everyone? I'm trying to catch up. Have gotten on to peak here or there but not really time to reply to anything. And...I'm trying to chill from the page a bit, hoping that will help me not be so anxious about gender. (Fat chance).

DH felt baby move for the first time yesterday so that was exciting! Poor guy had to miss our two appts and hadn't felt it move so probably doesn't seem to real to him yet.

I can't wait to find out (besides the obvious) so that I can finish painting the nursery and start going through things!! I need to get as ready as I can in the next few weeks because once it warms up things get busy and I'm outside most of the day!

Hope everyone is doing well!!

MiL went for a reading yesterday and the woman picked up on the little man straight away without anything about pregnancy being said, right down to star sign. She thinks he'll be arriving between 3rd and 7th July, so around two weeks late. Eep! Kinda hoping she's wrong on that one...

DH felt bub move for the first time 2 nights ago, at 22 weeks. It's a quiet little thing comparing with my boys who kicked like crazy from 15 weeks! It was pretty special and he got all mushy :)

It sounds like something I so would do bunny! DH thinks it's nonsense but I believe it. Shame the lady I used to see is back in Brazil and good readers and mediums are hard to find, now I don't know where to go if I wanted a reading. Now, 2 weeks late is a lot late, mind you Aidan stayed in there 1w+3d longer than expected, he liked being all snug and cozy :)

My problem is that I think I'm starting to look quite big, even people at work have said so. I've still got 13 weeks until I'm due. In 15 weeks I'll be huge! Really not wanting to give birth to a 10lb bubba... :nails:

Aidansmum I know right! I'm 21 weeks and this baby gives me the scares... it hardly makes itself known my 3 boys kicked all the time from really early and this one gives me the slightest tap every now and then just to say relax I'm still here LOL... Hubby felt her kick for the first time last night :)

I'm just glad it's not only mine that's too quiet :) I do worry sometimes but she always stirs, she's just not the kicking type! But then, after 3 boisterous boys who kicked all the time (and my toddler that still does!), hopefully she will continue to be calm and relaxed, I would appreciate the break :)

Bunny, you're not alone there, I feel so big already and my tummy is really big, last night DH said 'wow, you are getting big now' and said 'great, only halfway there, imagine what I'll look like at full term' :) My Doctor has been hinting at a C-section for me anyway, which I'm still unsure, he's not suggesting it, but because I told him that Aidan's birth was very traumatic to me with lots of complications and extreme pain (he was in back to back position and was pulled out by ventouse after over 1 hour of pushing), he knows I'm open to suggestions, and being almost 41 puts me in the risky pregnancy group, so I do have a choice, but still don't know what I'll do. Aidan got stuck for a while and I thought we were going to lose him and I never want to feel that again, I like the idea of having it all planned. But still not sure.

I kind of cheated lol. It was really early in the morning and I was laying on my back and put my hand on belly to feel the bulge. Told hubby to put his hand on so he could feel the "bulge" so he knew there was in fact a baby growing in there. From his big warm hand it shifted and moved a little. :)
Not really kicks or obvious movements yet, though it's gradually increasing. It took awhile to feel DS1, not sure about DS2, but when they did it was crazy gymnastics on there! It's still early to tell how this one will be!

I went to a psychic 1 month before I was pregnant and she said girl. I then did a phone psychic before my materni 21 test came back, yes desperate measures at that point, and she said girl but coming around June 6! Haaaa I'm due May 30th, and always went 4 days before due date. Please be wrong!

Hi ladies, just checking in to see how you all are doing :)

Nothing much going on here, just enjoying some time with my boys before the oldest one goes back to school.

I decided to skip London for my 20 week. I have been doing ok so the less visits the better IMO so my next appointment is in May..Not sure if I will change it, will depend on how I feel and if I can even get an earlier appointment.

That's about it, hope you guys have a good weekend :)

Hi grease! Glad things are going ok!

Ok here, just waiting until next Thursday! We've had some drama from my sister-in-law, the one I've mentioned before. We decided to wait to break the news to the rest of the world after our ultrasound. She's knows that and isn't happy we're having another so she's taking it upon herself to tell people for us. Ugh!! Drama and stress I don't need right now.

Hey Grease, glad all is well x

From2, not cool at all for your sister-in-law to be doing that, has she ever heard of boundaries? You don't need that right now :(

I've been busy, Aidan started 3 yo kinder and loved his first day, we're still having sleep issues at the moment with him waking up for the toilet in the middle of the night and raising with the birds in the morning, so pretty tired! But all well here. Wishing you girls a lovely weekend. x

Hi everyone,
2to3 sorry to hear about your SIL. Why must people be so rude and hurt others? My SIL is a piece of work too! She of course was the only one to have 2 girls and my MIL never had girls so was over the moon. Once she found out I was having a girl she also made comments. They are clearly just jealous so don't let it both you!!
Glad to hear everyone else is doing well. Been busy washing and washing. So many people have been giving me bags of clothes. Getting ready to paint the nursery, only 9 more weeks for me!! It is going fast now...
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good to hear from GT77!

Yes, it is so frustrating with my SIL. Shes actually my BILs wife, and I think the underlying problem is jealousy and competitiveness. She's been mad about something else for 4 months now and then she heard this and she's not happy. She thought we were done. Now she's telling some people that they aren't done. She wants the baby of the family, and the attention and all that. The pettiness and drama would almost be hysterical if it wasn't real.

Menic - good luck on your scan tomorrow, hope all is well with baby!

How are you ladies doing that didn't get your desired gender?? I hope you are doing ok, been thinking about you!

Glad to hear all you ladies doing ok, good luck to your scans tomorrow and the day after tomorrow :)

I have decided to cancel my trip to London for my 20 week appointment. 3 day sis way too stressful to be going to London and back and with everything that's going on in Africa I am staying put. My next appointment is in May, I will be 1 day shy of 25 weeks so I didn't think it would make too much of a difference if I kept that appointment and not move it. I am starting to feel baby more and that makes me one happy mama....Still worried something will happen so I am looking forward to seeing my baby :)

Hi Ladies. I’m going to have to blab to get some things out to hopefully help me feel better. I know a lot of you are busy with babies coming soon (yay!) so I don’t expect you to all read this….sorry in advance if it is long!

I thought I was doing okay, but now that my ultrasound is coming up I’m starting to panic. Last night that is ALL I dreamed about. This is it; this is the moment of truth!! It’s either a boy or girl, and in 48 hours I will know (hopefully its more cooperative than my firstborn )

The reason I’m so worried, is not only for all the reasons I want a girl this time and I will never get if it’s a boy. My biggest worry and fear is because with DS2 I had NO IDEA how much I wanted a girl the second time until after I found out he was a boy. Two days after we found out, I came home on my lunch break and started bawling! Ever since, I have thought about it almost every day. I was fortunate to where I loved my DS2 instantly, and wouldn’t change him, but I still thought about that girl I’d never get in the back of my head. (We were ‘done’). So, if I didn’t know how much I desired a girl last time, how much worse is it going to be this time that I KNOW how much I want one???? This is for sure it; DH is getting snipped after baby is born.

From the beginning I told myself I was going to assume it is a boy. Not even think girl. Well, I lied to myself and only think girl!! I can’t tell the difference between intuition and desire! Some things have been different and were different since the beginning, but like we’ve all been reminded…symptoms don’t matter! And my poor DS2 is dead set that he is getting a little sister, (no matter how many times I’ve told him it could be a baby brother), I don’t want his little heart to get broke!
Ahhh!!! I’m all over the place. I know I will love the baby no matter what…I just want peace, acceptance and a feeling of complete!! Thanks to those that listened!

This is hard. Hoping DS2 is right - I really hope this is your little girl.

I did from the beginning tell myself that 'it's a boy', in reality more of a getting used to the fact that there was a fairly high chance it wouldn't be our desired gender, but at the same time deep inside I really clinged onto hope that it was a girl. As much as I was wanting to go team green with this one, DH asked how I think I'd do when it came to the birth and it's announced it's a boy - how would I/we react? We really didn't want such a special occasion to be 'tinged with disappointment' (ugh that sounds bad, but can't think of how else to put it), but if we find out early we can start to enjoy the pregnancy and not be second guessing on a daily basis.

Got my FX for you x

From 2 to 3, what you are feeling is very normal, I also convinced myself and the world around me it would be fine if this was another boy, but deep inside we know that it would be bittersweet and break our hearts for the little girl we'd never have. I felt the same way before finding out as this is also my last. I just want to say forgive yourself for feeling your feelings and embrace them. I really hope it's your little girl this time and will be coming back soon to find out. xx

Hi! I just poked my nose in here and just wanted to say this is to the tee what I felt like when I went to find out ds3. It stung so bad. I hung in there til I got home and then sobbed uncontrollably in my closet for almost 2 hours.
I can't help you change your feelings, they are there and honestly for me it only got a little better nearing his birth. I felt awful but it's hard to change those feelings!!
My only help I can give you is that it will be ok if it is a he once he is here. You won't want a girl then. You will be just fine.
Feelings crept in for me again around when he was 6 months but they were never quite as strong as before because like you, that was it for me! Sometimes I would think 'oh I should have done this or that better' and then maybe have gotten a girl. But then I was angry at myself because that meant I wouldn't have him and I wouldn't trade him for any girl!
I am pregnant again by a big oops so it's fun to think maybe. I know I'll be ok though if it is what will most likely be a he!:)

Good luck and I really hope you get to hear what you want!! And if not, you will be ok in time, I promise:)
