When to BD?

I was not planning on using rephresh or anything this time (i used acijel when I conceived my son) and OPKs do not work well for me at all. Would I be best to DTD every day from AF-O or BD every 4 days? I conceived my son BDing about every 4 days. (Note: I am 24, my husband is 27).

I know atm the recommedation for Pink sway is BD 4day cut off. most chance of one BD in fertile window wich sways pink.

Thats an option. But there is reason to believe frequentie doesn't sway.

Hmmm, difficult one..if you are not using OPKs, the advice is every 4 days but then that is how you got your son so I'd probably not want to do the same thing. One attempt is definitely getting better results than frequent bd. Its a shame the OPKs don't work for you!! Have you tried various brands?

4 day cut off is not recommended for pink. Most ladies can't even get pg off a 4 day cutoff and those who do have gotten boys!! (Me and atomic included) atomic is suggesting one attempt at + OPK or to bd every 4 days because then you'll naturally only have ind attempt in your fertile window as you're only fertile for 3-4 days.

Timing and frequency are only one way to sway, there are others like diet and sups and exercise, that may be even more important so just because you got your son bding every 4 days doesn't mean it sways blue. Right now one attempt at +OPK has gotten the best pink results and I beg you NOT to bd through o as that us a sure fire way to a boy (my second son!!)

Agree with carmella 100%. The best results have NOT been with cutoff, but have been a single attempt at +OPK (not doing it a few days before or after, but letting DH release as he wishes in the meantime) OR DTD ever 4 days to ensure one attempt in your fertile window.

I think I may have already answered this in a different thread but I think the every 4 day method is best. Even if you got your son BD in that or a similar pattern, there is more to swaying than just frequency and nubmer of attempts.

Yes, you can have him do that, and it may be the best of both worlds but will lower odds of conception

Just to clarify, I do think frequency can sway, but it's probably pretty minor and it lowers odds of conception so much that I'm not sure it is worth it to try and include it.

Since one attempt has gotten such consistently good results, it makes sense to me to increase odds of conception with one attempt and let go of things that have been less successful and inhibit pregnancy.

OK I just want to clarify a bit more, I believe sweetdream was using the expression "cut off" as in "cutting DH off from having sex" aka abstain. Occasionally some people use "cutoff" when they mean abstain. So she was saying do not have unprotected sex any more often than every 4 days. :)

FB, another option is to stretch that every 4 days, to every 5 or even 6 (I'd stick with 5). That way you can be sure that you will not be doing the same thing that got you your son. It may make it harder to get pg, but then again you may get lucky right away and have the "go day" fall in a good margin close to ovulation. :) Just a thought.

I'm not sure what to do. I've been using OPKs but I'm pretty sure I ovulated yesterday (a bit if EWCM, O pains and bad nausea), but the OPKs never picked it up. But at the same time my husband has VERY good swimmers.. The licorice root does not seem to be affecting him doing FR at all like it does for most men. I'm not sure if I should get him to do FR and just BD when I get the signs of O or do every 4-5 days.. Thoughts??

Update: I just got a positive OPK. Not trying this month but good to know vitex is regulating my cycle!

the LR has a cumulative effect over time, so just because it hasn't started to affect him yet, doesn't mean it won't in future. this is a benefit of the every 4 day method too because people have missed entire months when their hubby couldn't complete the transaction.

You are asking me one of those crystal ball q's and I really can't answer because I simply don't know. :)
