View Full Version : NEED HELP PLEASE!!!! Just diagnosed PCOS, and still breastfeeding

I was recently(yesterday) diagnosed with PCOS. My littlest just turned 2 and is still breastfeeding even through the night. I have yet to get a pp period back. Im also getting older, and don't want to be advanced maternal age. HELP!!! I had recently, as in a month and a half ago, gone vegan, with no oils or dairy either. My weight is coming off but not nearly as quick as I would like. I have like 80 pounds to lose ideally, all gained while nursing my lo :(. This would without a doubt be our last child, and Id really like to try for a boy, as we have three girls, and I have two step daughters as well. Can anyone help me???

There are some specifics on PCOS for blue in the second link. Basically, it's a lower carb HE diet, which is GREAT for your health.

Are you vegan for health reasons (like recommended by a doctor) or for ethical reasons? Paleo is super healthy and is the diet I was on when I conceived DS2.

If you have a lot of weight to lose, maybe wait until you're at or close to goal and then gain a few ponds at the end for your sway.

Overall, yours is a case I'd take to atomic for a personalized sway plan. It's super complex and there are too many factors for those of us who aren't experts to juggle.

Low carb is the way to go. What are you eating? Any exercise?

Oh and to make matters worse. The only times I have fallen pregnant was when I was working out so hard and dieting so hard. If I quit doing those things, even IUI didn't work :(. We tried to do a blue sway this last time. :( I need some help ladies!!!

Ok, I went vegan due to the strong heart disease gene which seems to plague my family. "vegans don't get heart disease" is what Ive been told and read. I am walking thirty minutes a day and that is all right now. I am eating lots of veggies and SOME fruit. ZERO meat, and when I cant avoid it I have had some dairy.

First of all, please don't take the "advanced maternal age" thing too seriously. There is not some magic switch that gets flipped when you hit 35, it's just the age where ON AVERAGE the statistical fertility across the population begin to decline and the risks of some issues like chromosomal abnormalities begin to increase. I had perfectly normal healthy babies at 37, 39, and 42.

I do not recommend a vegan diet for anyone with PCOS. The amount of carbs you consume on a vegan diet are just too high (even things like nuts, beans, soy all bring quite a lot of carbs along with them.)

My recommendation for you would be to follow the "atomic fertility diet" option for blue swayers with PCOS as detailed in this thread about 5 from the top. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/9052-swaying-under-special-circumstances-part-3-pcos.html This essay has a lot of good info about PCOS and supplements that may help you as well.

I think you need to "diet smarter, not harder" and pick the RIGHT diet that will help you the most. Crash dieting isn't going to help you get a boy.

Re exercise, I woudl DEF. have you do exercise. In fact it's a prerequisite for blue swayers with PCOS. I would have you start right now with both weights 4 days a week and cardio up to 5 days a week. On days you have to do both weights and cardio I would do arms to give your legs a break. Or you can sub in a muscle/cardio blend such as Taebo.
