I started Vitex (drops) AF to O last cycle. At 8 dpo I got some spottings and light bleeding that have continued on and off until today, when it increased to what looks like AF. I am supposed to get AF on friday, but the way this bleeding gets heavier I think it's possible it is AF already. I have had some mild crampings as well.

I believe it is the Vitex and now wonder:

* Should I count today as Cd1 or wait until friday?
* Should I drop Vitex or start taking it again and see if the spottings was just a first cycle problem?

Or am I blaming Vitex too quickly?

Nope I reckon the vitex is to blame!! It totally screwed my cycles up too and I spotted all the way through the month after as well. I would still count cd1 as the first day of heavy bleeding... I stopped using it because I was constantly spotting it was horrid.. really moody as well...even felt anxious.. Vitex is horrid!

I've only been on vitex for 3 cycles but the only thing I've noticed in AF is a couple of days later than I expected, but I've never really counted days until the last few months so who knows it could be normal for me?!!?! I have heard though that it has caused some issues for others. It probably affects us all differently.

Atomic will probably have some advice for you. 💛

Thanks Rainbow baby - I read that it can delay O a bit, but I didn't really realise how common it seems to be with spottings due to the Vitex. I guess I better just drop it right away.

Mumofsix - thats what I thought could happen, that a normal cycle could be a bit longer, and too long cycles would turn shorter.

Marika..the first cycle when I took vitex was totally messed up. Super long cycle, spotting etc..but it went back to normal starting the 2nd cycle

I took vitex sparingly last month. CD1-5 and then I skipped one or two days and stopped all together after ovulation. I have been spotting since 10 dpo and it's mostly pink and red. I usually have brown spotting before my AF so I am not sure what to think. I'll take an HPT tomorrow if my spotting is still light...have a feeling it's just AF creeping in.

Looks like it's quite common with the spotting. :-(

I don't know if I should continue or drop it?! I am on CD 1 or so today and if I am t continue I should start now. Any advice?!

This is one of those crystal ball questions that I just don't know the answer to.

Sometimes vitex starts off causing problems that go away (more likely), while other times things just get worse and worse (less likely but still not unusual) I personally think it sways pink but perhaps not enough to justify the trouble it can cause. So I can't totally tell you what to do - I do think you can have a fine sway without it, but I felt like it helped me so it's a toss up.

I would count the first day of red bleeding as AF and go from there.

Thanks Atomic (and everyone else)

I started taking it again but lowered the dose. It take the drops and forst cycle I took 2 mg a day as prescribed, but now only take 1 mg. Since I ma still not sure about ttc in april I figured I have some time to see how it affects the cycle. I started it a few days ago though, since I didn't know how to count the cycle.
