BFN 8 DPO with Dollar Tree test, am I out?? :( weird symptoms!! Help :(

I feel so crushed...been having some symptoms and tested and BFN...I used a Dollar Tree test, my first time using one, I usually used First Response or EPT.

Not sure if I am 8 DPO or 6 DPO...I got an lh surge on my CBEFM on Friday 3/21 and dtd that day. Did not dtd anymore. Sat 3/22 had a night sweat (usually get these night before O and night before AF starts) and Sunday morning had O pains in my right ovary.

Last few days I have been feeling some familiar symptoms (pains in boobs etc, never get those before AF or around O anymore, etc) so I caved and got a $Tree test and BFN today. :( I feel totally crushed. Weird thing is, last night I had another night sweat...what the heck is going on? Does this mean I'm out this month? Are they weird PG symptoms? Do you think it's more likely I am 8 DPO or 6 DPO??

Feel totally crushed but trying to hold out hope!!

Hi houseofblue. I don't think you are out yet. Even if you are 8dpo, that is still pretty early. I would wait a few days and then test again. How sensitive are the dollar tree tests? Some tests aren't sensitive enough to pick up any hcg until af is due or around 14dpo.

Just looked at my calendar and I was wrong... I'm either 5 dpo or 7 dpo, not 6 or 8! I think. Does DPO mean you start counting the day AFTER O?

If that's the case, then I am 5 dpo if I ovulated on Sunday (the morning I felt O pains), or 7 dpo if I actually ovulated the day I got an LH surge on my fertility monitor.

This will give me some hope that I still have a chance this month.

Yes, the day after O. 7DPO is really too early, and forget about 5DPO. Good luck in 4 more days. :D

You still have a chance!! Even if you were 8 dpo. Some women don't get a BFP until AFTER they miss their period. Every person (and pregnancy) is different.

When are you going to test next? I'm a POAS addict (going to really try and keep it under control this time around) and would test everyday from 7 DPO until positive or AF. Good think I also buy $ store tests (with a FRER hidden away to confirm a positive, if it happens). Which reminds me....I better buy a FRER!

I wanted to come and say that with my ds1 I didn't get a positive until probably 16 dpo. I was over a week late with my period and it finally showed up. I knew I was pregnant a whole week before my + test...I could just feel it. With my other two I didn't get +'s until 10 or 12 dpo. Good luck!

Same as Rosie , I didn't get a positive until 1 week past my missed period with dd1. It's early , hang in there , keep us updated !! :-)

I got a + 11 DPO with very sensitive 10 MIU test. This time I used less sensitive 25 MIU tests more in line with dollar tree and it took till 12 DPO. I also know when I ovulate so there isn't any guess work. It is almost impossible to get a positive any sooner than 10 DPO unless you have miscalculated dates. Good luck and hope you get your BFP!!!

Now praying that it's a sticky, and that it's pink! ;)

ETA: I used FRER hpt, don't know if that made a difference or if I was too early last time.

8 DPO is just TOOO early!! no one should bother testing at that point with any type of test.

Congratulations (again)! I hope to follow in your footsteps. I have no symptoms though. I've been (irrationally) testing since 5dpo. I'm day 8 today. Fingers crossed for the next few days!!!

Hi Angie, GL and my fingers are crossed for your BFP!! :) 8 dpo is even too early, I tested around that time and got BFN!
Def will find out gender.
