I'm not sure when is the best time to drink it, but I manage to swallow only 1 glass a day http://serve.mysmiley.net/sick/sick0025.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net/free-tongue-smileys.php) No way I could do it 3 times....
But what really makes me sick is BSD http://serve.mysmiley.net/sick/sick0022.gif (http://www.mysmiley.net)

Wow, taking it on an empty stomach, that's brave LOL!

I couldn't find any info on this, but for best protein digestion, you should eat your protein with some acids, so I would think that gelatin would also be best digested with acids. So you could do gelatin drink with lemon water or ACV and it may help.

I agree with you girls, gelatin is nasty n stinks. What I did was to dissolve it in a little hot water and mixed it with two whole lemons squeezed to make my lemon drink, that way I could stomach it. I used the knox powder in tin that foodservice use, that was cheaper for me cos of how much I was taking.GL,HTH.

LOL ZB that drink does sound horrid!

Maryam yours sounds good ... I too used the Knox and just mixed it in pineapple juice and chugged it. I figured the juice covered some carbs to go with the protein in the gelatin.

Ohh this sounds like a great idea. Do you the gelatin and fruit drink could be used as a snack or is it additional to snacks?

Yes, you can absolutely use it as a snack but I would like to see a ~bit~ more "real" protein.

From Wikipedia - "Although gelatin is 98-99% protein by dry weight, it has less nutritional value than many other protein sources. Gelatin is unusually high in the non-essential amino acids glycine and proline (i.e., those produced by the human body), while lacking certain essential amino acids (i.e., those not produced by the human body). It contains no tryptophan and is deficient in isoleucine, threonine, and methionine. The approximate amino acid composition of gelatin is: glycine 21%, proline 12%, hydroxyproline 12%, glutamic acid 10%, alanine 9%, arginine 8%, aspartic acid 6%, lysine 4%, serine 4%, leucine 3%, valine 2%, phenylalanine 2%, threonine 2%, isoleucine 1%, hydroxylysine 1%, methionine and histidine <1% and tyrosine <0.5%. These values vary, especially the minor constituents, depending on the source of the raw material and processing technique.[9]

So if you can choke down a hard boiled egg at the same time, or some jerky, you will get even more benefit because you'll have ALL the amino acids together all at once for your body to utilize to build some muscle mass (and the muscle will in turn send the signal to your body to produce more testosterone.)
