View Full Version : Your GD yellow bump experiences

I've always wished I hadn't found out ds1s gender back when it didn't matter. I was just far too impatient and excited. So I said "next time" but each time it's come around I've said I have to find out because it could be a girl.
If I have 1 chance left, and am convinced I'll get boy number 5, I'd like to have a 'surprise' but I'm so worried that if I gave birth to a boy and was unprepared it could sour the experience and risk post natal depression which I had after ds2.
I'm looking for the experience of people who stayed team yellow and DIDNT get their dream gender. Did you later wish you'd found out? Did hearing "it's a boy/girl" yet again make your heart sink and spoil the experience of meeting your baby?

I haven't had that experience...yet. I hope to wait until birth (if I get preggo). Also intersted in people's experiences.

I always wanted a girl. When I got ds1 I was team green. (Or yellow) when he was Born I really didn't care. I just fall in love!
Later I did regret not staying team green with the other boys. In the pregnancy they were just boys. I couldn't Imagine how they would be. After birth they were .... And ... Wich I fall in love with right away again.

Whatever you decide I hope you're happy you made the 'right' decision for you. Xx

I'd really like to have that surprise, although not sure how much surprise is involved once you have 4 of one gender, and just convince myself it's a boy. That shouldn't be too hard, I already believe I'll get another boy lol and I'd like to think I'd be ok and just be so happy to have him in my arms. I just over think everything. I'm not even pregnant yet.

With my DS2 I did have a moment of disappointment, but I nursed him and had a nap and after that it was just instant love. In exchange my whole pregnancy was really a lovely experience just like it was the first time. I know team green isn't for everyone but I love doing it, and I'll do it again with any subsequent children. :)

Exactly what I'm going through now motherofboys will let you know how it turns out;)
But I am starting to enjoy this pregnancy and I don't want to ruin it with any silly feelings that I know will be irrelevant once he's here:)

I was thinking of waiting till birth this time to find out but this pregnancy has been the complete opposite of all three of m boys so I know if hav convinced myself that it was definitely without doubt a girl and I'd hav been so disappointed at birth s at least this way knowing it's my fourth boy iv come to terms wi it X

Angelone my 4th was the complete opposite to my first 3 as well so I really thought I'd hear girl, then the closer it got to my scan the more I doubted it and just knew by the time I got there it would be boy.

I wasn't sure if not knowing would keep me hoping rather than just accepting how it was going to be. Of course the dream is to not find out and hear girl, but I'm not sure if it's better to hear boy earlier rather than later

I'm interested in responses. Going for the surprise this time (although DH is not so the surprise depends on how good he is at not slipping up and accidentally telling me)

We had a surprise for DS1 & 2 but the rest we found out. Really want to not know this time as it's defiantly our last but also don't know if I'll be able to wait and I know DH doesn't want to. I so regret finding out with DS 5 & 6 but I think it did help with the GD, having time to "deal" with the news before they arrived.
