View Full Version : Have to take antibiotics - how long do they stay and sway?!

I have a bacterial infection and started antibiotics (Doxycykline) yesterday. Will have to take them for a total of nine days.

I am on 6 dpo right now, so my concern is about the coming cycle. Will it sway blue for the nearest weeks or when do they usually go out of the system?

Thanks Kitkat! Wow, that would be such a relief. And yes it should be the same for us, I think I'll have to take mine a few more days but I hope it doesn't matter.

Hope you feel better soon!

If they don't affect your sway, I'd make sure to get some good probiotics in, too! If you do get your BFP this cycle, it's great to have a lot of bacteria for a healthy gut on hand. There's actually studies showing that mom's gut bacteria during pregnancy helps babes to have healthy guts when they're born - super cool!

Probiotics (weirdly because I was quite surprised by this) have proved to be a pretty good BLUE sway tactic. It was the only thing in the early days of the site that got worse than 50-50 for pink and we've since dropped it and use only for blue, with 75-80% success rate

I do totally agree that it's great to use probiotics when pregnant though!!

Don't worry aobut the antibiotics, they are not even proven to sway anyway and will be out of your system by the tim your attempt rolls aroudn. (and this is true even tho they like to claim otherwise on some other sites)

Thanks atomic, great to hear they should be gone by next cycle.
