Hello ladies! Just found out I am pregnant and it was a shock!:suprise: I have two boys - 4 and 1, and we were going to try for a girl in a year or so. But I was not doing any diet or supplements just yet because I thought I had plenty of time. Last month my hubby had a few trips so we BD only 2 times - once right after AF and once about 4-5 days before O (that's what I thought))) Well I guess this one time made me pregnant. Now I am pretty upset that I messed things up and wondering if I have a chance for a girl. I am 38 (will be 39 in July) and my hubby is 42, so this will be definitely our last one. Thinking back - it turned out to be abstaining (about 7 days) + cut off, and I even did some jump and dump. But that is it for swaying. I didn't take any supplements and wasn't on a diet(( The only thing I did is that I skipped breakfast regularly (with 2 kids I just didn't have time to eat till 12-1 pm) and normally had only 2 meals a day.
Does it look like a little bit of pink??

Just the absence of sway related stress can sway girl big time, I hope you get your girl. x

Thank you for your support everybody! I guess now all I can do is wait and pray... If it is a girl I will be on seventh heaven but if it's a boy I will love him as much as I love my two boys.

You always have a chance of pink!!
One attempt has gotten great results for us. I would feel hopeful that pink could be a possibility!

You definitely have a chance for pink! I had a similar situation happen this time around. DH and I DTD and I didn't get a +OPK until 4 days later. Well apparently 4-5 days is plenty of time for sperm to stay alive. I know everyone thinks 24-48 hours but they can definitely hang around for awhile. DH was in disbelief until the OB confirmed that it was a definite possibility.

Congrats! Sounds like a great chance for pink and how fab that you didn't have the swaying stress that goes with it :)

Thank you, WantingPink! Did you get pg with a girl when you DTD 4 days before O? Did you do anything else for swaying?

Thank you Little Lunasa! Yes, you are right - no stress then but now it's a lot of stress every time I think about what I could have done to sway pink(((
Congrats on your pregnancy and a baby girl!!! I can imagine how happy you are! Did you sway or it was a surprise?

I don't know what I am having yet... will get MaterniT21 results hopefully sometime this week. I won't worry too much about the timing. Timing seems to be all over the board with people getting boys and girls. I wasn't trying to get PG but my other "sway" factors would be that I was still BF my 6 month old and hadn't even gotten my PP yet. I wasn't taking prenatal pills and I was eating kind of crappy. So we will see. GL!! I was in your exact shoes with DD... I wanted to sway and had planned on it but fell PG before I got to do a full sway and I was devastated thinking I blew my only chance at a DD. Turned out to be a girl so it can happen!!

Oh, I just realized that you are PG again and your baby is only 8 months old! Congratulations!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience, it gives me a hope:o
I also was planning on having MaterniT21 test, did you get it ordered through your Dr.? I had it with my last pregnancy but the dr. only ordered it around week 16 after my blood test results showed higher risk for down syndrome.

LoveMyKids just wanted to let you know that I got the MaterniT21 results back... chromosomes look normal and it says girl!! So the 4 day cutoff didn't hurt:) Will be looking for your update when you know what you are having.
The test is ordered through your Dr. Usually done on 35+ women or high risk for chromosomal abnormalities.

Wow, WantingPink, congratulations on that wonderful news, so happy for you!!!:flowerz::flowerz::cheer: Now you will have two sets)) I think your girls will be best friends - they are so close in age!
I am older than 35, so will talk to my Dr. about the test.
Oh, there is another thing I wanted to ask you. Did you have different symptoms for your boys and girls pregnancies or they were pretty much alike? I had very similar pregnancy symptoms with my boys (terrible nausea but not too much vomiting, aversion for sweets...) and looks like I'm going to have the same this time. I was wondering if the child's gender makes any difference

I have had a few different symptoms but really I think that each pregnancy can be similar and different and it doesn't really matter what the gender is. I had horrible nausea and vomiting with the boys but with the girls I learned to eat differently which has really made the nausea almost non-existant (as long as I eat right). I have been cold with my girls and hot with my boys but I have seen women on here that are all over the board on that. I wouldn't read too much into your symptoms. You can have the MaterniT21 test drawn as early as 10 weeks:)

we have done tons of polls and threads on this and symptoms do not predict gender in any reliable way. People think they ahve diff. symptoms in retrospect and heck, they may be right, but there doesn't seem to be any trend or way to predict using symptoms and it has caused a ton of heartbreak and stress.
