Anyone ever heard of this? Ive heard of it floating around FF when i was pregnant with my son and I wondered if it held any merit. When i was pregnant with my son the tech had told me the egg came from my right ovary and the tech this time said the same thing so since im hoping for a girl hopefully the theory doesnt really hold true ;)

AT the bottom of this thread there is a box called "similar threads" and there are several where I went into this in detail. :)

I ovulated from my R ovary and definitely having a girl, I think it's not accurate at all! I put a bit more faith on the Ramzi theory.

my suspicion is that if Ramzi works, it's because of the R/L ovary business.

What they say, for what I can remember when I was reading when looking for Ramzi interpretation for my ultrasound, in peasant terms here because I am not a scholar :) that for some reason a boy looks for certain places to implant and a girl looks for the opposite. I know, it doesn't make any sense to me either and no one can explain. (?!) anyone to elucidate? :)

I cant even tell whats what in my early ultrasound pics anyway i had a bit of panic when i heard right ovary was what the tech thought since my son was also a right ovary baby

I have had a girl from my right and my left ovary. I don't remember with the boys since I was blissfully unaware of things like this at the time.

Well, that is prob. Ramzi's theory but he has yet to prove that or show any type of biological reason why that would be the case. To me it seems rather a strong coincidence that there is both the side of ovulation, and side of implantation theories that match one another, so I suspect it's a physical process and not biochemical...but as with any theoretical thing I always reserve the right to be wrong! :)

I Ovulated from my left ovary (confirmed by early ultrasound)& had boy #7 6 months ago.

This is pretty interesting! I have no idea of wich side I ovulated from with my sons but I believe it was the left side with my last pregnancy (a girl that ended in m/c).

I believe so because I then had a cyst on the left side that the doc said was due to the pregnancy. Can't be 100% sure of course, but that's how I understood the doc.

Anyway, these months ttc I have only had o pain on my right side. I've read that it's almost impossible for a woman to tell which side she is ovultating, but I can't really understand why. Is the pain not significant for the side the egg is releasing from?

(That would be positive, since I'd prefer to o from left if that gives higher chances for a girl but got a bit stressed to only have pain on the right side all the time.)

Yes you can be Oing on either side as the pain can be referred, or it can actually be more painful on the side you don't O from, as the pressure doesn't get relieved. I know it's hard to believe!

yes that pg cyst is the place the egg came from.

because both ovaries develop eggs, and ovulation can actually release pressure when it occurs, it's not unusual for there to be worse pain on the side that did not ovulate (like a very big pimple that refuses to pop!!)

I've heard cases of women with one ovary having both genders. I don't believe the side you ovulate from matters based on that.

I've got one boy from the right and one boy from the left.

Please, please read my responses in the "similar threads" section below because I have very thorough explanations in some of them.

Science does indicate that there may be something to this but it is not as simple as right = boy and left = girl
