Back ground..... Dh is over weight, I feel like he is gaining more weight, and I remember reading that dh being over weight sways pink something about being unhealthy and estrogen.

I am not sure. My DH was skinny for ds1-3 and now he had put on weight, hoping that sways for us. Maybe it is just a change in general, no matter which way it goes. Although losing weight generally requires him to do healthy things so unless he will go running for 30 miles a week it may be better to have him stay where he is at.

Hi Ladies, I recall reading that if DH is already overweight then its best for him not to lose weight. Reason being, overweight males (excess fat) will be higher in estrogen and lower in testosterone. If they start to lose weight through working out they will gain muscle which will raise testosterone. It is also best that they dont gain weight so try to keep him as is :)
Mine keeps going on about losing weight well I have heard it for years. I am tired of telling him that in order to lose weight he needs to look at what he is eating and stop snacking all day long! But will he listen, no he just continues to snack on packets of ham, blocks of cheese, coke, full fat milk etc etc..... He thinks that because he cycles and does the odd gym workout he will lose weight - ha!

Thanks! He will sit on the couch and say I want to lose weight, but then go make the biggest sandwich with as much meat as he can fit on it.

bahahaha!!! Sounds like my hubby too. Granted my DH is not over weight, he just has a belly starting. He was super underweight for most of his life so I hate to see him lose his chub now.

It can vary depending on the circumstances.
We believe the best odds for a man to father boys is having a good amount of muscle without a lot of fat. So, a very skinny man ~might~ have daughters due to lack of muscle, and a heavyset man ~might~ have daughters due to the fat making more estrogen and less testosterone. But this isn't always super cut and dry for men because some guys have quite a bit of muscle and just appear thin, and others have a good amount of muscle under a nice layer of flab.
As a general rule I do not have DH gain or lose weight when TTC. Men have the annoying tendency to lose fat first and not muscle, and also to gain muscle and not fat, when losing/gaining. So it doesn't quite pay off for them the way it does for us and since it's just another thing to stress/obsess over and pester our husbands about, better to let it go.
FWIW my husband was at his very heaviest by a significant amount when we got our daughter.
