Actual LMP was on the 4/11/2013. Had sex on 18/11/2013 (ovulated). Expected period was to be on the 4/12/2013 (30 day cycle) but had light spotting on the 7/12/2013 (pregnant ?). Had a blood test done on the 14/01/2014 and 1st ultrasound on the 21/01/2014 (6w3d). Just curious whether dr could have mistaken my LMP due to implantation bleeding and when did i actually conceive???

Any help would be appreciated.

On your first scan, they should have given you an official due date based on baby's development - is that the 13/09? That is the only real way you can somewhat guess the date to be honest (if count back 9 months...)

Using that date and cycle length, I make your conception date to be around 21/12/2013! HTH

Did you do a HPT around 4/12/13?

On the 1st scan the EDD shows 13/9/2014 and that i'm 6 weeks 3 days along. I didn't do a HPT as I thought i miscarried due to late bleeding??

i had 2 previous miscarriages so my cycles were completely messed up

I was told when I went to midwife and hospital appt. to use the date given at baby's first scan as the due date as is a good indicator for development, especially if unsure when your last period was (I was spotting on and off too so had no idea when I bled).

I used this calculator BBC - Health: Pregnancy calendar (http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/tools/pregnancy_calendar/) to work out conception given the other information you gave.

Thank you. Was just wondering as the 18/11/2013 was like the last time i kind of ovulated and whether i got pregnant from having intercourse on that day or maybe on cycle day 20.

I think I am confused as to why you are questioning your ultrasound. Sounds like your cycles weren't regular due to miscarriage. Early ultrasound (before 6-11 weeks) is very accurate for determining due date. Is baby now measuring otherwise? I would trust your early ultrasound unless there is some other compelling evidence that your due date would be otherwise.

Your conception date based off of first uls was 20/12/13 +/- a couple of days. You didn't get PG from DTD on or around 18/11/13 it was the month after. So about a week before Christmas is probably when you DTD and got PG.

If you miscarry, didn't I hear that it messes around with regular cycle timing, so o timing would be out for you for a little while anyway?

yes it does. Last miscarriage was on the 7/07/2013. I knew something was cooking after the so called LMP due to it being later than usual and much lighter as a normal period as i could see by my stomach aswell. I'm 21 weeks and 1 day now, but not really showing. Could it be that baby is just small and measures only that far? With my boys it made all sense but this time around it really boggles my mind. The doctor as well as we thought it might be further along but only measured 6 weeks 3 days at the time.

I'm thinking likely not - if the sonographer scanned any earlier than she had, there'd likely be nothing to see!

Ultrasounds at 6 weeks are not reliable to the day, but any doctor/tech worth their salt would be able to see very obviously a month's difference in your baby's gestation.

The fact is that no one can tell you specifically what day you conceived, but I'd be prepared for either eventuality. It's probably going to become glaringly obvious very soon (when you start nesting and lose your mucus plug) as to when baby will be arriving.

For whatever reason (and please no one read anything into this whatsoever) I did not show much with my DD until the 20 week mark. Even my adult sons who lived with me did not know I was pregnant till that week. I think the amount you show can depend on a lot of different variables including where your placenta is, how much weight you gain, etc.

Now that I see this post, I have a question regarding my O day for my first pregnancy.
I remember exactlly that I had my first day of cycle on 28 April 2010...
Then as far as I remember, I had a DTD on 7 unprotected...and I didnt took a pill the next day because I thought I will not get pregnant so easy....

On 5 June found out I'm pregnant and...
I had my due date 4 February..
Do you think it's possible for sperm to survive from day 10 until 15?(that time I didnt knew about my ovulation day but if it's to consider my O day now (it's in day 15)...
I have a boy.

What your ovulation day is NOW has nothing to do with when you ovulated 4 years ago. Sometimes you ovulate early, and this can happen even if every other month of your life you ovulated spot on CD 15.

It is also very, very normal for cycles to be irregular prior to conceiving your first child. So you could have ovulated on CD 12, 13, 14, or even earlier (this is less likely)

Additionally, sperm can survive for days inside, now the odds of conception are not good but my thinking is that you probably did not ovulate on CD 15 but sooner than that, and so the sperm did not have to survive as long. It is possible, however.

Yup. I remember I always 2 days before or behind with my cycle...so it's possible...who knows :-))
