View Full Version : Another crazy gender dream!

I had a weird dream last night that was a little upsetting...in it I was receiving my Panorama results and the person said "your baby has blah blah blah syndrome" (the name of the syndrome was said like the Charlie Brown adult voices "blah blah blah" lol) and you need to speak to someone. Omg I was so upset!!! Then I asked "what is the gender?" and they said they didn't test for the gender.
I think I dreamt this because yesterday I got a call from my doc office saying I am a carrier for CF (never been tested before). Not too shocked since my sister is too. Anyway, I was always told dh and I didn't need those kind of tests since we are different races and CF is rare in his race, and vice versa for other diseases etc. So we never got testing. Only reason they had me get testing this time was because I am over 35 (which makes no sense since these are not AGE related diseases!) and because one of my sons has autism so they wanted to see if I am a carrier for Fragile X (I am NOT, thank God!!). They want my dh to get tested but all 3 of my boys are fine so I doubt my dh is a carrier, but anyway it has been causing me soooo much anxiety and I think that is why I had the weird Panorama dream lol.
I can't freaking relax and enjoy this PG at all. I worry worry worry every single day..that something will be wrong, that it will be another boy, that my mom will be upset when I tell her we're PG again (she doesn't think we should have anymore kids because of our son with autism), all the comments I'll endure if/when we announce another boy, once baby comes we won't fit in our RAV4 so will need to buy a minivan that we can't afford, etc. I feel the stress seeping out of my pores!! :(

Oh my. I can't tell u not to worry, it won't work lol I can same I am exactly the same. I have never worried so much in pregnancy as I have this time. I am putting off telling anyone as long as I can because I never exactly get the champagne reaction anyway. I'm worried about the same things as you I even get mini panic attacks thinking about what might be. Sorry I'm not much help lol at least you know I'm having a breakdown right along with you x

Awww thanks babybeau, I don't wish the stress on you or anyone but feels good to hear someone understands!! BIG BIG HUGS!!! I don't want you to have a breakdown hon..I feel on the verge of one myself :( It really sucks that such a supposedly happy time has to have so much stress! I hope and pray we both get what we are hoping for, and 100% healthy!! Thanks for responding, you really made me feel a little less alone. :)

I hope it works out for us both too. I'm also so bad tempered this time, never happened before, well not this early anyway! Honestly I am ready to have a go at complete strangers and I usually hate confrontation?!?!!

I always have weird pregnancy dreams and they usually have very strange things going on... I try not to think about them after I wake up because otherwise they scare me they will come true! Sorry you're stressing so bad... I am too because we also have no more room in our can for another but will obviously need to get something that will fit 5 kids in the back. I am really dreading telling our parents. They both only had 2 kids and even though they don't say it I think they think we were crazy to have 4. My dh parents buy so much for the kids that we never even ask them to (just lots of toys, back to school shopping, etc) and I don't want them to feel like they have to keep doing that. We don't expect them to spend so much $ on the kids but I think that's why they only had 2 was to give them a certain lifestyle. Ugh, I wish I could announce to everyone but them! Its sad when I feel like family is the last who would understand...

I got so bad tempered with my #4 especially around 11-12 weeks which is when a testosterone surge happens in baby boys ;) oh, and also terrible acne that same time frame...

It's terrible not wanting to tell close family. I want to put it off as long as possible. DH wants to tell everyone but I'm making him wait.

Don't you just love crazy pregnancy dreams!!! NOT! 😜 I have had some horrendous and scary dreams when pregnant too.
It's natural for you to worry so much, especially after your losses and now the medical results re CF and I do think we worry more the more pregnancies we have! I have surely gotten worse with each child and I'm not even PG again yet and already I'm worried. 😕
And as for money and cars etc... We've never really been "able to afford" an extra child at the time I've gotten PG but it always works out. We had to get a new car when we went from 2-4 (the twins) then from 4-5 (we needed a 7 seater) and then again when we had DS6 as we needed an 8 seater! No idea what we will do with cats when we need a 9 seater but DS1 will be driving soon. 😉
My thinking is that you could be rich and be able to "afford" a baby one day but something can happen in the blink of an eye and you could lose everything anyway, you could also be poor and then one day win lotto (still waiting for that day 😉) so although it's probably "sensible" to think about money before having another baby, I guess it's just not a huge indicator in my thinking. My brother has lots of money but no kids and he is a brat! I concider us so much "richer" as although we struggle financially we have six amazing kids and one day we will have more money AND our kids! 😊💜
I'd say try not to stress, but I know that you will, as I will and do, but do try to find some time to do something you like doing and find relaxing, and have some you time. xx

Aw thank you Mumofsix, you always know the right things to say lol. :))
Yes my doc office wants to test dh and now I am terrified to do the Panorama because they test for a lot more conditions than the older tests and I already have one special needs child and don't think I could handle another, etc. :( Ughh these tests cause SO much anxiety!!!!! :( :(
Mum, what car do you have that is an 8 seater?? Thanks for your kind words hon. :)

We have a Hyundai imax. It is fantastic. When DH first bought it home I said "I am so not driving that" but it's actually really easy to drive and it has so much room inside for the kids and even a big boot space. I could literally pick up our pram unfolded and put in it the boot. 😀

Just googled that and it's not sold here in the US :( We're looking at Honda Odyssey bc those are almost the only 8 seater van I know of here.

The Honda odyssey is what I wanted, but I lost the argument with DH. Lol! There is a 9 seater Peugeot (I think) that I want but it's not available in Australia, only UK and US. 😞
DS1 said we could have another baby if we got some 9 or 10 seater car he wants from America! lol!!

I can't remember if it was 9 or 10 seats (maybe it was 9) but it's a suburban he wants. Unfortunately we can't get it here though.
Yeah the odyssey is expensive, that's why we ended up with the IMAX. DH keeps joking that we will need a bus soon! 😜
