View Full Version : Anyone secretly swaying without DH/DP knowledge?

I was just curious on how to do the LE diet and such without being too obvious to loved ones. I my case, DH didn't like it a couple years ago when I tried swaying. He felt too pressured, I think and it took the romance out of it all. Anyone else doing this? If so, how are you doing it?

I am doing it in secret as well. It's hard. I just really try to keep dinners normal, but incorporate things I can eat. I'll make sure to have rice or pasta and veggies in the dinner plan, along with a meat since DH eats it. I'll take a small piece on my plate, but don't always eat it. DH is only home for dinners through the week, so it is easy to skip breakfast and make sure lunch is LE. If we go out on the weekends, I'll try to suggest places where I know there will be pasta dishes available. It's new to me, so I'm still trying to figure this out too, but that's what I've done so far. (It's hard to hide this LoL)

Thank for the tips! It seems like a huge thing to try and hide, but my dh also works a lot and only has dinner most nights but sometimes not at all, depending on how late he works. I think my challenge will be hiding the white bread, etc because we don't normally have white anything here.... and I'm hoping I don't get too moody from lack of protein:/ I'm also switching up my workout routine so maybe he'll just attribute it to that, as well. I'm only going to sway my diet for the 6 weeks prior to Ttc this first round. Good luck to you!

I swayed without DH knowing however, my DH is so oblivious to anything I do or eat that he didn't even question it. He works a lot also and he is out of town a lot. Wish I had some advise for you... sorry!!
Just know you can have a successful sway without DH and don't stress about keeping it a secret. Most men don't really notice what we are doing/eating how we notice what they are doing/eating.

It's not a secret from DH (though he's not really doing anything to sway -- just cutting out red meat). But it is a secret from everyone else. I just tell them I'm trying a radical new diet to see if it helps me lose some weight. I suppose that could work for DH as well. Just tell him that you read about this new diet that supposed to help whatever (lose weight, increase energy, help with workouts, whatever you can think of). If he's anything like my DH, he won't question a new diet. But it really depends on how inquisitive your hubby is :P
Good luck!

DH definitely knows since this diet is very different than my usual, but it's a secret to everyone else. I've also convinced him to take some supps too, which I'm surprised he actually agreed to.

I did. He never noticed anything. I ate more salad when we went out, and at mealtimes I would eat side dishes and not meat.
If the white bread will be a giveaway, brown bread is not a dealbreaker, just stay within limits of diet. No magic foods!!
