View Full Version : On LE and no weight loss...?

Most days I am completely within limits. I haven't been watching sodium (could be retaining water?) But Most days consist of coffee for brkfst--- pasta (1cup), yogurt and a pop tart for lunch and the same for dinner or maybe a homemade cheese/mushroom pizza. I eat 3 or 4 devils food cake cookies since there is no fat in them. Helps with my sweet tooth. However...I am not really losing weight. (I do have plenty of weight to lose...5'4 and 150lbs) My calories are usually around 1000 to 1300 and I am full. Is it possible I'm over doing carbs? Even though it seems like this is what I should be eating? Should I try cutting sweets completely ? I was wanting to attempt in about a month, but should I if I'm not losing? :hair:

anyone have any ideas? are cals too low? I know if I go down to 800 or so I'll definitely lose, but I know this isn't recommended at all. Maybe less processed sweets and more veggies? I haven't really been eating fruits and veggies much.

I think maybe if you up your calories a little that might help, just make sure to stay within your limits just more calories. if that makes sense. I was having the same issue. You would think that going down to 800-1000 calories you would lose weight right? Well for me it doesn't work! It seems like if I eat 1,000 or less I don't loose any weight and my stomach is more bloated. If I eat about 1,300-1,500 I lose weight! It is very hard for me to eat that much but if that's what works im willing to do it.

Maybe it will work for you? If you aren't exercising I would highly suggest doing the 60 min 5-6 days a week. That has also seemed to help me too. I also asked atomic when I was having issues and she said that the diet in its self sways girl. Hopefully someone else chimes in and can help you more but this is what seems to help for me!

How long have you been on the diet?

I haven't lost much weight either and when I do it just goes back on again! I think it's the increase in carbs too. Atomic suggested to me to try some of the PCOS style tips which includes some wholegrain options and less processed carbs. Maybe even up your cals but with veggies as opposed to more carbs. I know we're not supposed to go under 1200-1400 cals as that can stop weight loss as our bodies go into "starvation" mode. I have found though even with the exercise I haven't been losing weight. 😞 I'm hoping the diet sways more than weight loss and I can't wait to get a BFP again so I can increase my proteins, eat healthy fats and a lot less carbs! 😀

Yes, I have a hard time eating this way. I wasn't SUPER healthy before, but I never ate this many bad for you foods. Pasta, maybe once a week. Blah. I'm worried now if I should attempt next month or not. Frustrating.

You may find you don't get your BFP first month anyway.

True!! I'm just thinking...what if I do and it's not my GD...then I'll feel like I should've waited LoL

I know that feeling! 😜 Although I don't think any month I'll ever feel like I did enough. It's just too hard to be "perfect" on the diet all the time and my exercise has gone out the window! 😞

I would look into the alt. diets that are better for blood sugar.
They are in this thread and anyone can use them even tho it's a PCOS thread.

I really really really cannot stress enough that NO ONE should ever go below 1200 cals a day and I really prefer you guys to be more like 1500-1800. There is only a small minority of people who should be eating 1200-1500 cal range.

There is also no earthly way you are getting enough potassium on that diet. That is not LE Diet, it's a starvation diet and you need to be getting some more fruits and veg.

I think partly I'm struggling with getting enough cals but not going over the limits. I would normally (pre LE diet) only eat around 1200 cals and now I'm needing to eat more with kind of bad foods. It's a mental struggle LoL Still wondering what y'all think about if I should skip next months TTC?

I think you should ttc when ever you feel the moment is right. There is never going to be a month where everything aligns perfectly, and you never know it might take a while trying to get a bfp. There is always going to be doubts in your mind if you did enough or shouldn't of done this, but you will never know if what you did will work if you don't try. For me it helps to think I can do everything possible to have an awesome sway but I will still end up with what I am ment to have. Hopefully that turns out to be the dream gender! Good luck with what ever you decide!

how sure are you that you were only eating 1200?? many people think they are not eating much and then when they add it up they find it was more.

it's hard for me to say when people should skip months because a lot goes into that - tell me more about your circumstances, age, husband support, etc

I've only lost 2lbs and I'm eating a little over 1500 calories right now and exercising. I think my body just does better with a low carb/paleo diet, which is what I was eating before swaying. I'm tall and thin and don't have much to lose, but I did lose 8lbs when I did my Whole30 (strict paleo) and zero exercise back in January so I know it's a diet thing and not that I can't lose.

I am the same way. I have a very hard time loosing weight when I eat refined carbs. The weight just falls off when I eat "clean" (no gluten, corn, soy, dairy, etc.). The LE diet is very bad carb friendly. Just FYI, I wasn't loosing very much weight when I conceived my girls. I was eating low cal and crappy (fortified grains and carbs). So just cause you aren't loosing a ton of weight doesn't mean you won't have a girl!! I was only slowly loosing weight with this baby (I was still BF which makes it really hard for me to loose weight) but I wasn't gaining weight either.

I'm 36, DH is 43....DH does a lot of 'boy' things....certain vitamins, working out, lots of meat...blah...I had my 3rd DS a little over 1.5 years ago and in the last year, no matter what I'm eating, I've stayed around the same weight. I've eaten atkins, raw, juiced, paleo... I'm just wondering if at some point I've wrecked my metabolism. As far as being sure if I've eaten X number of calories...I've been using fitness pal and tracking everything as much as possible. I'd been going by that alone to tell me cals/fat/protein etc... Since starting LE approx 7 weeks or so...my weight has fluctuated 1 to 2 lbs...no real significant loss...I've eaten really crappy...pop tarts, pasta, rice, yogurt, diet coke, crystal light etc, etc...

I wasn't losing much weight on the LE diet (even with only 1200-1500 calories a day) until I began the daily cardio. I didn't think I had time to commit to 6-7 days a week, but I've been waking up at 5 AM to squeeze it in because that's literally the only time in my day I have that's mine!

Since starting the cardio I've lost 7 lbs in 7 weeks. Not impressive by any stretch, but at least I'm finally making progress!

I lost weight VERY VERY slowly while breastfeeding (even when I hardcore dieted) and in general can only lose weight while eating extremely clean (only meat and veggies). LE has been tough for me but I think adding in the cardio was what I needed to see results on this diet!

Have you had your thyroid levels checked recently? It's not uncommon to become slightly hypothyroid after pregnancy, especially multiple ones. If you're mildly hypo you may not have any/many symptoms but it can really slow your metabolism and inhibit weight loss on any diet.

then switch to atomic fertility diet, you can do that in a more Paleo style

then you need to switch to one of the alt diets. The crash and burn LE is not working for you and it may be less effective for your sway as well.
