Hi,

I am very new to these forums, and to swaying. But DH only agreed to #3 if we can have a boy, so here I am. I am currently underweight, and have been trying to gain weight for the last 6 months without success. Just saw my obgyn and all is healthy, just have a high metabolism. Anyway, my question is: I read that I should try to get 2200-2500 calories a day. In all my weight gaining endeavors I have made it up to about 1900 calories from about 1200. How important is the actual number of calories, compared to just an increase? I might be able to squeeze another 100 calories in with a bedtime snack. And I now track the nutritional content of my foods, and have found a couple areas where I am really lacking. So my intake will be changing as I sway.

I think quality and quantity are important for a boy. Good proteins and fats with fruits, veggies, and carbs. Nuts are a good way to get good fats and protein with high caloric value. Remember you are trying to signal to your body that times are good which means good food and lots of it.
