OMG! I was just having an argument with DH last night about how I'd never live in his parents house as it has a pool. I hate even staying there once a year for a week! I have such a fear of this happening.

This is horrible! I'm praying for this family.

There is a class offered in the US that teaches babies and children how to survive if they fall in a pool. Infants as young as 6 months can take this class. I discovered it when DH and I were looking to buy a house that had a pool. It's not cheap, I think it was about. $200 but how can you put a price on your child's safety? I really encourage all moms to check this out.

He was going to go for a MRI today for brain function and then go from there, which seems to have been postponed (for now anyway). CT scan showed some brain swelling but no blood or bruising which the doctors thought to be good signs. They haven't seen anything concerning enough to count him as an 'emergency', which I suppose is a good thing, but also frustrating because they're back to waiting again. Kristofer, when not heavily sedated, does react to hearing his mother's voice - his blood pressure goes up.

I know all too well the emotions and unknowing of a near drowning :( On June 9th this year it will be one year since my youngest daughter (not long turned three at the time) fell into a friends dam. Our eldest children found her. She was flown to the Childrens hospital in Sydney.

"He is awake! All tubes are out, called out mommy, got mad at him for telling him no, then he said he was hungry and he had some juice!!! He also said mommy!!! And said mommy again!!! And everyone heard it so it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me!!! He is now sleeping and I am also going to bed! Cause I cried, because..well he said mommy Praying tomorrow we get a good report of any possible brain injury! Preparing for the worst but hoping and praying for the best!!!! We are still not out of the woods yet and we have a long road ahead of us, but we are making progress!!! I cannot even begin to describe how much all the love and support that was given to my family and I means to me!! I can spend an entire lifetime and it would still not be enough!!!!!! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart "

daisymoo, it was terrifying. I was at work when Dh called me to say Alyssa was being taken to hospital. I turned a 20 min drive into a 10 min drive that day. I was also terrified because it was the 9th of June the day it happened, my SIDS angel has her birthday on the 21st of June. I was scared I would lose another baby. I believe my angel was looking after her sister. I prayed to my angel daughter on the drive to the hospital and a strange thing happened straight after. I felt this incredible calm come over me and knew she would be alright. A few days after she was discharged from hospital I went to my local gp for her to have a check up. That is when my Dr told me that her prognosis was not good at all. When she first went into the hospital there was talk of sending her to ICU. We were extremely blessed. I am so, so thankful that Grease monkey's Kristofer has been allowed home, there is nothing more terrifying then uncertainty about your childs life.

Thank you all for the prayers!!!!! They carried me through some rough times and no doubt have helped get to where we are today. We are back home to KY and things are going well!!! Kristofer seems to have recovered fast and is almost his normal self. We still have a few minor issues but those will ease as the days go by. He just needs to gain the confidence in doing the things he did before and not be too afraid and clingy! He is more affectionate than before which I found myself loving every minute of it!!!!
He is without a doubt my miracle baby and I am so thankful to everyone and to God for giving me my son back!! I don't think I can ever repay everyone for their kind words and support!!

I am very blessed indeed! You never know how strong you are/can be until something horrible happens!
We were able to turn a horrific experience around and also do some sightseeing and visit with family so it wasn't all bad! I wanted Kristofer to have a positive experience in London and had not taken any pictures of him in the hospital bed and tubes but I made it a point to take plenty of pictures of him having fun!!
