I think it depends on how close you are to your family and the people making the comments. Really no one has a "right" to make any comments. Your family and baby making is your business. My close family and friends I have told I have been very honest with them and said that we weren't planning on a 4th... I even put it in the announcement. For others who it is really none of their business I will probably not reveal that information and if they ask (depending on who it is and how they ask) I will probably just say that we are so excited to be having another girl that it doesn't really matter.

One of my Moms friends put it best... she said God doesn't make mistakes which made me feel really good:)

I agree I like God doesn't make mistakes, or life is full of wonderful surprises, or we are thrilled.

I have gotten a ton of comments since this is our 4th of
"wow was this planned"?
"How can you afford it"?
"Where will you put this baby"?
"your crazy"

Haha I just smile and say yes it was planned and we couldn't be happier!
To family members who ask about affording it I simply say with a smile that money comes and goes but family is forever.

I expected to hear comments so I just laugh at them all. I couldn't be more excited about finally getting my baby girl that other people's thoughts or opinion have no baring on me.
in my head my motto is "screw em" :)

When I have talked to older women who are being honest and genuine they almost always wish they had more kids. Have you ever heard someone say that they wished they had less kids? They say you will always regret the kids don't have but never regret the kids you have and I believe that to be very true. Sometimes I think these comments are said out of jealousy.

I announced on fb today. Out of nearly 50 comments I got 1 you are mental from a good friend who has a newborn at the minute and having a tough day lol, 1 TV comment from a guy I've known for years so it's allowed and taken how he meant it! Surprised but as it's my life and family it's how it should be :)

Oh my Mrs. I... I am so nervous to announce on FB!! You have to expect a new Mom will think you are crazy and men are thoughtless:) I am waiting until after the 20 week ultrasound. How did you announce?

Last time I announced with a photo. Not sure what to do this time??

This is how I plan to announce to my family that live 1500 miles away (will change the girl part if need be) 18900

I am not too worried about family reactions it is mostly parents at my sons' school. Some of the mom's like to note that I have four now so they will be shocked when they learn I am going to soon have five. One older lady, not at the school, actually asked me if my fourth was planned...I was surprised at the question but answered a simple yes.

thanks for the ideas so far.
