Evap?

Yesterday I took a dollar store test and got a very very faint line that I'm almost not sure it was even there. Used my iphone to take a pic and it doesn't show up. Today I took an EPT, stared at it for a minute or less, didn't see a line, put it down. Came back a few mins later (I don't think it had been over 10 mins but I wasn't really timing either) and there seems to be a very faint line there, still hard to see in pics... but wondering if it looks more like an evap than a bfp? I don't know how to tell the difference. I've heard evaps are super common on blue dye tests and have also read that some people never get them. This was a twin pack, I took the other EPT yesterday and it was def negative with no evap.

Any thoughts???

I didn't detect, but am almost certain from pains and spotting that I Ovulated the 7th/8th. Had some cramp and light brown cm the 17th, but nothing since. AF should be sometime between 23-28th, but I'm thinking it'll likely be the 25 because of when I ov'ed.

I can see line :) evaps are colorless.

Ps. I'd get a frer to confirm!! I don't trust blue dye and I'm losing faith in dollar store...

Do a FRER with second morning urine... you will know for sure then. I don't trust the EPT blue lines. Don't get the FRER digital do the line test.

I see the EPT line as well! I'd also suggest getting a FRER and using second morning urine!

I think its an evap. :( But maybe not!!! Go get a FRER :)

I didn't get a chance to FRER in the morning, took it at 4pm after not having held at all and a late lunch with the girls, I should have waited. If I look at it the right way I can see what wants to be a line *I THINK* but there's no way I can get something so light to show up on cam. I'll post a pic any way, but I think it's wishful thinking. I don't really expect AF until the 25, FF says to test on the 27th, so it's still quite a bit early in the game. Not giving up yet, hope I get some dark lines soon, 2ww is killer.

So what DPO are you? Try again with second morning urine. Basically go pee in the morning then don't drink anything and then go pee again about an hour later and test this urine. This will be concentrated from not drinking anything all night. Good luck and I hope you get you BPF!!

When I zoom 250% and check it from different angles, I think I see what you mean about a wanna be line. Even if you are supposed to get AF on the 25th, you are plenty early for the wanna be line to become an actual line! I can't wait to see the next ones :)

Okay, so the FRER digital was negative, by no surprise. It's too early for those I think since FF says not to test till the 27th lol.

Here is the $ store brand. As I was watching it load up I swear I saw a darker red line where the positive should be but as it dried it seemed to all but disappear. So I guess that would be a negative too.

Behold, the only positive test I got was yet another blue dye test. I will say that I watched it load and saw it immediately, so no walking away or waiting 10 mins. I think it looks bluish and not grey, but then again, it's still so faint I can't be sure.

Wondering how much of what I see is just wishful thinking.. I know there's still time left to get a good positive since AF isn't due yet, but I was really hoping I'd see a good positive by now since I think I O'ed the 7th/8th. (by symptoms, not by test or temp)

I see it on the blue dye test!!! I kept hoping with the dollarstore ones. The test line would show up pink as the urine moved across then dry white. I got AF on Sunday as expected (grrrr). As I said, I'm losing faith in $ store tests.
And if you did O the 8th, that only puts you at 11-12 DPO. That can still be really early because from the extensive freaking research I've done, most people don't implant until 7-10 DPO and then it takes a few days for the HCG to accumulate in the urine for testing. I did so much math last cycle (if implantation happened 7DPO and started around 5 mg HCG, it would only be 10 HCG on day 9, and 20 HCG on day 11, 40 on day 13 -- if it was doubling every 2 days) -- as an example. hahaha, trust me, I ran a zillion different scenarios.

Sorry so long. End of story is I hope this is IT for you!!!!! Can't wait to see more :)

I also see the "I'm crazy line" on the inverted test, BTW. Not so much with the non-inverted tests. I'm so excited for you!!! Don't you wish it was possible to fast forward a few days?!

Right?? These Dollar Store cheapies are not my friend! One brand says not to use before the day of expected period, but the ones I'm using now don't say that anywhere on the box (I've checked haha). Still, guess they can't really be high quality if they're only a dollar compared to the $5-10 per test of name brand. Sorry to hear the ugly witch showed up! Really hope next month is your month!

I'm a bit concerned about only getting faint lines on blue dye tests since I keep hearing how unreliable they are with evaps! So VERY cautiously optimistic that a BFP might still be in my near future.

The 7th I had a bunch of ewcm in the morning and spotting all day and then nothing the next day, this is happened both times I got pg with my littles, so think it's a somewhat reliable sign of Ov. Then the 17th I had some dull constant cramps on my right side, but I don't tend to cramp at all with AF so I don't really have much to compare it to. Also had some brownish cm but that day but wouldn't call it spotting really as it came and went so quickly. I really WANT to believe it was implantation, hopefully I'm just testing too soon :fx:

Promised DH I'd take a break from my obsessive testing until Friday (probably)... hopefully I'll have a clear answer then, whether it be a completely blank test or an obvious line! This maybe almost kind of barely there lines that make you squint and tilt your head are maddening lol.

the dollarstore ones I use have the same sensitivity as FRER and I've gotten positives at 9 DPO my previous pregnancies.....but I think maybe they've changed something about them. Something bad...grumpy.

haha, DH has no idea when or how often I test! As far as he knows, I tested 2x this cycle and not at all last cycle (really, 17 times last cycle and at least 10x this cycle).

Thank you!! I'm not sure I can wait till Friday or not but I'll least try in honor of the promise. He has no idea either, I've gone through at least 10 so far and he thinks it's just 1 a day for the past 3 days lol. Silly boys. He just said, "It's sooo early, why bother testing now? Just wait till you're late." I told him I doubt could wait till the 27th but that I'll try waiting until Friday haha

No, but I ran and got a test first thing this morning lol. Took a FRER with tainted SMU (drank some koolaid on the way to the store). VERY faint line again and I'm wondering if I'm just pro at seeing evaps that others wouldn't notice or if I'm having a chemical pregnancy. Blahhhhhhh. Pics in the May 2ww thread ;)

normally I would say that more evaps mean you're pregnant and I hope that's the case here!

Going to go ahead and add the test here in case someone else has this problem later on. Looks like another evap/ghost line to me on CD31. Have decided I don't actually know DPO since it wasn't confirmed, O pains on CD14 though.

I've come to terms with the fact that I'm highly unlikely to be pregnant this month, hate that noticing the antibody strip/evap line is so easy though. It's annoying because I can see the line in person and on my desktop, but not on my laptop or phone, which clearly means it's not a bfp. No more early testing for me lol. Wish AF would hurry up and get here so I can have a fresh start :)
