I am hoping to TTC pink in the fall:) I have cut out meat and have been skipping breakfast in preparing for my sway! I must have had a brain fart, I drink coffee in the morning which I know is fine but I put real sugar and creamer in it. So I guess I really am not skipping breakfast like I thought! I usually drink 2 large cups which adds up to about 155 calories(mostly from the sugar). My question is should I switch to a "fake sugar" or is the way I am drinking it now ok?
Thanks so much!!

Sugar depends on how it's used. If in coffee with milk/creamer it'll likely sway a little more boy because of the carb/protein mix. If it's just used as an empty carb (ie. on it's own) it'll sway girl a little more. I swapped out for xylitol before I knew anything about swaying because I thought it is very similar in taste AND is good for teeth and lower in calories - I can't have a hot drink without sweetener and really couldn't get on with Splenda.
Hoping this old thread will help:

Thanks for answering! The creamer I use is the powder coffee-mate, it is non- dairy with 0 protein. So if I am understanding I could keep the real sugar? I won't mind switching out, it is just the days I have really tried to stick close to the fat and protein limits I barely get to 1200 calories:-/ if I take away the calories from my coffee I would be really low!!
I am pretty sure I will order a personal plan in a month or so....clearly I could use the info
Thanks again for the help!
P.S. Feeling very blessed to have found Gender Dreaming!!

I too had not thought of this!! I have been skipping breakfast for around 2 months now but do have a up of tea when I wake with milk and sweetener in, does my cup of tea around 7am mean I am not actually skipping breakfast?? Thought I'd got my sway nailed but perhaps not : (

I used coffee mate. I also use Reddi Whip! It functions as both creamer and sugar with 0 carbs!

WEll, technically you aren't supposed to, but I DID and still got a baby girl. My thinking was that my body would quickly burn off the sugar and I'd end up with lower blood sugar than I'd have had anyway. Now I'm not saying I recommend that for everyone, but for me, life wasn't worth living without a little smackerel of something in the morning and I know from prev. experience that I digest very fast and am a "blood sugar crasher".
I was getting MUCH less cals than 155 though. I think that is too much and I'd like to see you reduce that.
On the other hand anyone who has any troulble with insulin resistance would be better off NOT having sugar in their morning coffee because it will raise your blood sugar and keep it higher longer than if you had not had it.
I do think cream/milk/creamer are all perfectly ok and would not avoid them.

I will switch out my sugar for equal or sweet n low:) I am thinking I am a "blood sugar crasher" also because by lunch I have the shakes and slight nausea:-/
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!
