Thought I'd start a TTC June thread... it's the first thread I've started, but I'm in month #4 of TTC, so I almost feel confident starting a convo now. :) Anyone else with me this month?

Welcome, Buster79!
Arimethia, glad you're settled! I know we took about...oh, a year to really feel *in* our new house. Lol! I've had to get back on and fall off the exercise train a few times, but I'm finding that this go round, it's really helping with my stress levels. Thank goodness something is!

Sweet!! I have no clue when I'm ovulating...I have been taking diclofenac for over a year and last month was my first without taking it. I usually start closer to the end of the month/first of next so this cd1 is early! I think we are going to add some concieve plus this month...I have dryness issues from sjogrens (autoimmune) so I've been doing mucinex and on a liquid diet. Fingers crossed that June is our month!! ❤️

We are hanging in there! But as discouraging as it is, we both want a daughter more than we want to get pregnant. So that's good ;) it just makes me have SO much respect for couples that try for years... Hope that next month is the lucky one!! ❤️

I hope this is all our month! I can't believe after all this planning our first attempt is so soon. I've been getting pretty nervous analyzing and hoping I've done everything right. Then trying to not get so Martha. DH got mad when he found out I couldn't have a big o the week before and the night of attempt. He's also not happy about abstaining for 7 -10 days too. I'm getting a little burnt out not being able to eat breakfast, snack, and exercising so much. How is everyone else feeling?

3girl good luck for your upcoming attempt. Im feeling hungry, but its something you get used to. Its only 9am and I am looking forward to lunch! But even if I had eaten breakfast I would be looking forward to lunch lol. The good thing about this diet is eating white pasta and garlic bread guilt free :) there are good things about it. But now I have been doing the diet for 7 months with weekends off so its just ingrained I suppose. Hope you wont have to be on the diet for this long but you will get used to not having breakfasts/snacks over time.
bethwade, i have to admit I actually just want to be PG, I dont care anymore. I have done what I can through diet and exercise and thats it. We BD when we can trying for every 4 days but not putting ourselves under pressure if it happens to be every 3 or every 6 and hoping to have a positive OPK to get that one attempt in. CD12 today, started testing yesterday.

It's hard for me... TTC brings back so many difficult memories. DS1 took 5 years to conceive. Yes you read that right, 5 YEARS. DS2 was conceived first go, before we had time to even think clearly about getting into the TTC thing again. I'm finding that even though we haven't started until this month, because of our history I already feel stressed & sad & like its been a long journey, even though it hasn't. It's been a long time waiting to be ready for number 3, & a long time convincing my DH to try for 3. So I have mixed emotions, & am emotionally exhausted before even starting.

This is without a doubt our last baby. My body can't take it! I'm not even sure how well this one will go but we do want a 3rd! I love my boys but they are totally exhausting lol.
I think that my crappy health is a good thing for my sway but I just can't imagine having anything but a boy. We are going to add a little CP bc I am convinced it won't happen at all if we don't!

It was crappy. We started trying straight after we got married in 2004... By 2006 we had no answers other than "secondary unexplained infertility". We started pursuing adoption. The Australian procedure for adoption is terrible, it takes many years. We were finally approved for adoption in 2008 & the next day I found out I was pregnant! Our DS1 was born in 2009.

Hey girls, I'm not the best at doing personal responses, but I am definitely reading them all! I'm starting to get nervous as the attempt gets closer. I know it will probably take a few tries. and I'm getting so worn down by the diet and exercise plan. DH helped himself yesterday and our abstain got cut a little short. But he's been thankfully taking his supps like a champ and even chugged soy milk yesterday.

I'm sorry you're feeling bad Primalmamma. And five years for DS, that really put's things in perspective, like me feeling 4 months has been long! I do understand that with those years you automatically might feel stressed about ttc if it brings you back the memories. Swaying has (at least for me) taken the ttc to another intensity level, it's not just getting pg, it's everything else as well.
About your headache and not feeling well, maybe you need to adjust the diet a bit? Maybe it's too low of protein etc? I would ask Atomic for more advice. It's not supposed to be torture.
I hope you can get som good advice and find a level of LE that makes you feel ok.

It's official CD1 for me so June here I come! Sorry the diet sucks Primalmama. I've been cheating like crazy lately and not counting calories. Guess I need to step it up since we will be trying again in 2-3 weeks. I'm definitely dropping the Zyrtec once my period is over and I guess for this cycle I'll stuck with one attempt but not totally decided yet.

May 31st, 2014, 01:48 AM
Primal I am so sorry the diet is making you feel this way. Your health must come first. I'm sure atomic will have some good advice for you. If you are doing the exercise maybe you could go to 60-70g protein a day and then add some chicken to those salad kebabs? I had some chicken last night and my protein for the day was under 70g.
I had a pos OPK yesterday so our attempt was last night! I guess I will O today or tomorrow! Just when I had chicken last night and will have sushi today lol

Primal I would suggest increasing your fat and protein a bit...you will feel a lot better. I have the same issues and after my loss I just didn't feel comfortable with the limits I was doing before. It was the perfect Le diet but I didn't feel well anymore which I wasn't okay with. So now I eat meat every other day and upped my fat intake too. I just don't over do anything and keep my calories around 1500.
lyagirl
May 31st, 2014, 05:11 PM
I eat chicken nearly every day, is that not a good thing? I've cut out ref meat entirely for 6 months noe whereas I was having it 4 times a week before

I wrote this in the food thread too so my apologies to anyone who has already read it: So after careful consideration, discussions with Atomic & with my husband I've decided to go back to my normal paleo diet but eat lower calorie & less meat/protein overall. I found LE was affecting my health negatively in a myriad of ways. I was extremely lethargic, depressed, anxious (protein stimulates serotonin which is what a lot of anti-depressants do) & my IBS symptoms (which are aggravated by grains & legumes) were making every day a misery. I had gone from my usual exercising 6 & sometimes 7 days a week to barely being able to drag my sorry butt off the couch, I was GAINING weight & life was just not pleasant for anyone. On Saturday morning I had a full blown panic attack & decided enough was enough. So I have eaten paleo for 2 days... Today I've been up since 5am & have been on the go all day, including a 5k run. I feel the best I've felt in weeks. I won't be going back to LE & will attempt to sway with lower calories overall & exercise. And of course one attempt at +OPK. It is best for me & my family & I'm not so dead set on having a girl that i want my health or my family to suffer.

Good for you primal no shame in it. Gotta do what is right for you. I basically dropped le in some ways too. I just stuck to lower calories...low blood sugar and didn't go crazy bananas with the other limits. Better you're healthy and happy than miserable.

I think you made the right decision, primal!
While I totally think atomic knows her sway stuff, the LE diets and all the sway tactics aren't for everyone. And, honestly I don't think they are needed for everyone in order for us to get our girls. No one knows whey we're "boy moms," and, really, it could be different for each of us why we've had boys in the past. Atomic has some great working theories and tons of observations that help us push in the pink direction, but she's the first to say it's not a "do this, do that—boom a girl!" I've had to lighten up on the LE myself, and it's been a total internal struggle. But for me it was a matter of: do I do strict LE or do I remain calm (LE messed with my blood sugar and hormones to where I was snapping and stressing over every little thing) and exercise? So, yeah, I still think you're in for a pink bean. :)

:agree: totally - remember, I didn't even WANT to do a diet because I feared people would take it too seriously and stick to it too closely. I just wanted some guidelines on how to change your guys' normal diets in a more pink friendly direction. But some people really wanted a diet so I made one. Any changes you guys make still sway pink, it does not have to be "the LE Diet" in order to sway. :)

Hi All! I would like to introduce myself!! Hope you don't mind me joining your thread:) I am super excited to be TTC pink in June. I have two beautiful boys, I have just always dreamed of a daughter my whole life. This is it for us. I was just curious but what are some things you gals TOTALLY took out of your diet on LE diet? Also, have you ladies TTC pink only do one attempt that month?

June 2nd, 2014, 10:17 AM
welcome Charli33 and good luck! The only things I have cut out are breakfast cereal, fortified foods (such as granolas and cereal bars) and fruit juices (apart from the ones in cocktails!) Everything else is fair game and allowed for me. Yes, trying to stick to the one attempt (and try to BD every 4 days but not doing that in military precision, just when we feel like it) but for me it depends on when positive OPK comes. This month we had BD on CD8 and CD12 but then I got a positive OPK on CD14 so we BD that night. I know most people would count that as 2 attempts but I have been TTC all year, am 36 in September and wasnt confident with a possible 3/4 day cut off as one attempt.

Hey ladies! CD1 for me so here I am! This will be my 3rd attempt. Hope we get lots of BFPs this month. If not, I'll be taking off July since we'll be in Italy and Greece on vacation and I won't be able to do my LE diet fully, exercise, or drink alcohol there. So it's either June or wait till August. I should O around the 16th this month. We leave for Greece on the 22nd so I'll be doing my TWW abroad. I only exercised once during this last TWW so the plan is to start up again today and do it every day through O. My diet has sucked this past week as well so getting back on track with that too.

Welcome, Charli33! For me the thing I try to do *most* of the time is stay vegetarian. I will admit to a few cheats here and there, but it's probably 95% of the time veg. Not sure if that's the "big ticket," but it's the easiest thing for me to do. Oh, and I have a super light breakfast every morning (after around 14 hours of fasting) and eat lunch fairly late (2-3pm).

Hey girls, joining in here too!!
I have 3 boys, this will be my last baby (I'm old too!)
This is my 5th month on the diet and I too have loosened up quite a bit...I'm trying to stay veggie most of the week but I will eat meat if we are out or at friends (like you Arimethia) I'm still skipping breakfast, I quite like how much time it saves me in the morning! ;-).
We are going to DTD every 4 days and hopefully this will work this month.
The longer it takes, the less motivation I have....I'm also starting to doubt if going for a #4 is a sensible idea! I have days when I feel I can't cope with 3 so how would I with 4?!
I'm cd3 by the way.
Arimethia
June 3rd, 2014, 11:18 AM
La vie! I also am starting to doubt if going for 3 is the right thing! We just moved to a new city and going places, my oldest going to school, loading the kids in the car, meeting people, getting our new home together, it's all so HARD right now and I'm thinking, "Am I crazy for wanting another baby in the middle of this hot mess?!"
The upside of it taking so long to conceive has allowed me to see that my husband also wants another baby. He's a pretty stoic person so it's hard to tell what his authentic feelings are on anything unless he says them outright. The other day, after yet another BFN we were driving home and my husband says, "It would be really nice to have another baby. Babies are great."
girliedreamz
June 3rd, 2014, 02:42 PM
LaVie, it's leik you're inside my mind. Lol! I feel the same way! Sort of like the longer it takes to get preg, the more time I have to worry about if this is the right thing. We are crazy busy with 3 boys, and I know dh especially thinks we don't have time for #4. (Well, his exact words were, "Do you have time for a baby?" Uh, where do YOU plan to be, pal? Lol!) Considering that we have 1 kid going into high school this year, 1 into kindergarten, and 1 baby already... some days I think he has a point.
I'm also worrying about age... I'm 37 and dh is 45.
Good luck, arimethia!
Dollych – so sorry about the mc, but I hope this is the month for you!

June 3rd, 2014, 03:15 PM
Glad I'm not the only one with these feelings!
Arimethia: yes, the loading the kids in the car bit! So hard! Can't just 'pop' to the shops- it's a whole expedition just for a pint of milk lol
Girliedreamz: we also have high school to look forward to this September, junior school and the baby.oh, and 2 football trainings, matches on Saturdays, cubs, cricket ....
I'm 39 so I can't really take the time to think to much about it. (But just thinking about it and the logistic exhausts me already lol).
DH said tonight : so which month would we like the baby to be born? May/ June would be best as there's no other birthdays.
Yes, Dear, of course I will just carry on the diet for another 4-5 months and schedule that in ! If only it was that simple!
Bless him he did ask what he should be doing to help, so I said dont eat red meat and keep your balls tight and warm lol

June 3rd, 2014, 04:18 PM
Yeah I worry about adding another baby to the mix too. My boys are so full on & I worry I will go batshit crazy but to me it's not so much about wanting a 3rd baby it's about wanting another child & another family member. The baby stage is always very challenging but with a 5 & a 3 year old I know it will end, they will all sleep through the night one day, they will all use the toilet one day, they will all shower themselves one day & they will (by hook or by crook!) be able to contribute to chores one day. So it won't be super hard forever. I'm a working mother (I work 36 hours a week) & deal with school, daycare, gymnastics, etc & we live in a town without family close by (the closest is 4 hours by car). It's a lot of work but it's worth it.

Primal I look at it that way as well. I know the early stage is temporary and that the large family I desire will constantly change and have different issues but I can see it being amazing and full. My husband thankfully sees it that way too as he isn't keen on another baby and losing sleep but he wants the long range family dynamic of it.

HI all :) I thought I Posted in here, but apparently not! I'm currently in the 2ww, but still a TTC june (I guess). I understand the questioning of adding another child. I'm almost at the point where I've decided against it, but keep giving it "just one more month". My boys are 3 & 6 so they are just getting to the kind of independent stage (my 3 year old just potty trained, so the diaperless thing is fabulous). But I keep thinking, it's only a few years more of baby stuff (I love the baby stage) then it gets a little easier again. DH took forever to cave to the idea of a third. I still think he'd be happy if I called it all off but then he says things like well, we haven't been trying for very long and what can I do to help with the sway. I know he's doing it for me rather than what he really wants, but I guess I'll take it however I can get it, lol.
Hopefully we'll have lots of BFP this month :)

I am sure you posted here too angielorna, but perhaps it was the May group… Good luck for your BFP & I hope you can keep busy enough in the 2ww for it not to be too excruciating! I’m lucky in that DH is as keen as I am for #3 & so when I have moments of doubt he is the one that props me up. Only on Sunday I was getting a bit emotional saying maybe we shouldn’t go there & he was quick to jump in & remind me our family isn’t complete yet. He’s right & I’m glad I’ve got him to bolster me up because if he wasn’t 100% on board I wouldn’t have it in me to push for it. I think you only regret the children you DON’T have, not the ones you do, & once that little baby is in your arms all the DHs who are questioning the decision to have another one will be rapt they decided to support their wives to go ahead. I think the only thing my DH is struggling with is how much he wants a daughter, I think he wants a little girl even more than I do, & more than that he wants to see me parent a little girl. He gets to do all the “boy” things with our 2 sons & while I try to join in I’m a pretty feminine person & find it hard to genuinely get into the boy stuff. He got all teary watching a commercial the other day where the mother & daughter were having a tea party & he was all “you deserve that, I want to be able to give you that…” & he hates that it’s HIS sperm that ultimately makes the “decision” so to speak about the child’s gender, & he has essentially no control over which one will “make it” in the end.

aw bless all our DHs they are not that bad really are they! I am lucky too that DH really wants another. He says he wants a girl but I dont think he minds either way, probably just says he wants a girl to please me. He certainly doesnt do anything to help the sway unless its something he feels like doing, like having a hot bath or cycling!

I am very lucky to have a husband who is completely on board with number 4 even though he would have been done easily at 3. He has done everything I've asked and swallows that terrible Ole. His support was a major factor in my swaying. He would really love a daughter just as much as I would but he is more than okay with another boy. His ease and acceptance makes my GD a little less.

Hi PrimalMamma! I am in North Carolina, US. So much pressure being my last shot at pink:) And girliedreamz, I have decided just to go pretty vegetarian. That is still a huge dietary change for me.
I am just really unclear about when we should make our attempt. Am I correct in as soon as I get a positive OPK? That seems to be contradictory to a lot of other stuff I have read.

DH really wants me to have a daughter because I really want one. I know he'd be putty in her hands. He makes comments about walking her down the aisle or threatening her first (and subsequent) boyfriends. He really wants a Daddy's girl but, before he agreed, he said it would be nice to have a girl but even if it was guarenteed, I'm not ready to pound one into you (my wonderful, crude, hilarious hubby).
Charli33, the one attempt at pos OPK has been getting good results (or so I keep being told :P). Sound cynical, but I believe it from what I've seen thus far on the site. In addition, the intense cardio 60 mins a day 5-7 days a week seems to be doing well for a lot of people.
Good luck!

Is there a specific position that works best for TTC pink?
My sway so far- skipping breakfast, Zyrtec, and I have been testing Replens ( just finger amount about every three days). Started Crystal Light which I dislike, but am doing it for the cause:) I am a CrossFit fanatic, so I feel I can't just give that up. And from what I see online, it seems a lot of CrossFit women have girls:)
Also, have any of you ladies done anything with Ions and Aci-jel?

Hi ladies! I am new here. I have 2 wonderful fun energetic boys and I am starting to try for my third and last child. It took a lot of convincing my DH to have a 3rd. I just went off of bc pills and am starting. I've been dieting and have lost almost 15 lbs in the last 2 months. I am taking folic acid and I always take Zyrtec 1 time a day (even when I conceived my boys). Are there any other things I should be doing to sway for my dd? I don't want to go overboard with swaying but want to give it my best shot! I think a lot of it is luck and what I'm meant to have but my heart yearns for a daughter! Any input would be appreciated! Good luck girls on your attempt!!

Charli and Aoii-- Welcome the the boards and good luck! I've been on the LE diet since the beginning of February, but this is only my 3rd attempt (took March and April off). Here's what I'm doing for my sway:
LE diet (calories: 1500-1800, fat: 26-60g, protein: 40-50g)
Skipping breakfast
No snacking
Exercise (Walk Away the Pounds dvd) 5+ times a week
One attempt at +OPK
Cinnamon, folic acid, and fiber (before meals) for me
Olive leaf extract and licorice root for DH
Alcohol daily
Coffee daily
Peppermint tea, Crystal Light, and diet soda daily
Switched from coconut oil/butter/olive oil to canola oil
Sleeping on left side
Lavender diffuser in room, lavender extract on body, and lavender body wash and conditioner
Alcohol, peppermint tea, and licorice root are all stopped at +OPK
I normally take Zyrtec daily, but I'll stop it at cycle day 9. I'm not doing jump and dump or Rephresh/Replens.

3girl - good luck! There is a June 2ww thread if you wish to join us :)
Charli33 - personally i would just BD however you want but then I have quite a relaxed sway. More pink positions I guess would be standing up, woman on top or in the shower. shallower penetration = less sperm getting to the egg. Ions - not doing anything on purpose but when I remember, I do put lavender oil on our pillows before BD, and after this months attempt I remembered to paint my nails and I used my hairdryer which has some kind of ion thing going. But this stuff is only if I remember and I am not bothered about actually including it because I doubt it does anything personally. Aci-jel - not sure what it is but i am not doing any vag potions if thats what it is.
Aoii - welcome :) my sway is pretty simple: LE diet (I eat on average 2000 cals a day, 50-60g protein and 25-30% cals from fat, so around 60g a day), 6 days a week exercise (hence eating at the upper end) and trying for one attempt at pos OPK, although this month I guess would count as 2 attempts. Sometimes I J&D. To be honest the main things for me are diet, exercise and one attempt, the rest is if I remember or can be bothered. I take folic acid every day. I also take zinc now 3 times a week as I have been on the diet for over 7 months (when I came off BCP it took a really long time for my cycle to come back). Now on my 3rd 2ww but have been TTC since the beginning of Jan.

Hi guys!!!
I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to join yesterday! I am also trying to conceive baby #1 in June. I am type 1 diabetic from birth so haven't been following the diet strictly. I'm just barely eating to.keep my bloodsugars low and have been taking extra insulin and metformin. I'm super stressed. I have long irregular cycles and a few immune system disorders. Because of this i cant let go of taking multivitamins, probiotics, and 4000mcg of folic acid. This might be my only chance at a baby and I really pray i can have a chance at having a daughter.
Good luck to all of you ladies on your swaying journey!

I am super worried my positive opks didn't mean anything. I had discharge up until today that seemed like the fertile kind and I'm worried I didn't ovulate until today. Last time we had sex was Saturday so there would be no chance then. Anyone experience fertile cm well after their supposed positve opk and still get pregnant without attempting more than once?? I have cramping today too. I am seriously bumming right now. I did take an opk yesterday and it was negative but I don't know what to think.

Rosie, we are in the same place! I got Fertile CM Monday (5days after first pos opk) and cramping so think I may have not ovulated til then too. It's is so frustrating, I don't know if having a m/c can stuff it all up or not but I have no idea what's going on??!?

girliedreamz - I would probably cave and test at 9dpo lol although last time I didnt get a positive until 10dpo and it was mega mega faint! Enjoy the distraction this weekend!
maleficent - welcome and good luck!
Rosie and mum - sounds like weird things going on in the cm department which might be hormone levels after the MCs? If you took an OPK and it was negative then you cant be ovulating though? I am sure atomic said that a lot of people get a surge of estrogen around 7dpo which results in EWCM for some (whether you are PG or not). There is hope. Rosie, it might be your pregnancy juice that you mentioned ;)
lol kitkat breakfast is a distant memory - what is breakfast lol
My symptoms are gone, I did feel very slightly sickly yesterday but felt better in the evening which tells me that it must have been down to a normal surge in progesterone or i had the sickness that DH had except milder (aka the womans version of it which is never as bad as the mans version lol!!). I feel out but even if I am, every day that AF stays away is a bonus just to give me a longer LP and better shot next time. On the cm front I had watery and creamy cm yesterday which suggests that my hormone levels are getting back to normal - 6 months after i came off BCP.

Congrats Angie! Fingers crossed for everyone else! I really think we BD too early and I'm out. BD on Tuesday night and still have positive OPK's with no temp rise today. Might be just as well though since I'll be off from the summer with less stress and more time to dedicate to meals and exercise. I've also decided I'm done with CBE digi OPK's because they indicated positive too early. They were positive 2 days before the chespies were which might be good if I was doing multiple attempts, not good for only 1.

Trying to catch up with everything but just a quick (well not quick actually lol) question.
I'm only CD8 but I do have a dilemma and hopefully you can help me decide!
I am going away on my own for 4 days to visit my sister (lucky me!) and I should o just before I leave but I don't know when to start the every 4 days bd.
so I'm leaving on CD19 and back on CD22. I think I tend to O about CD18. Do I plan to bd on CD18 and therefore count down from that day the every 4 day pattern ?
Or does it not matter when we start bd ? If we start today then the last time we can bd before I go is CD16 which could be about 2 to 3 days before O...
Sorry this feels like a Chinese puzzle! Lol.
I hope someone can 'enlighten me'! Xx

June 8th, 2014, 04:00 PM
If you O on CD18 it might be better to BD on CD17? Then if you do the working backwards thing, it's CD13 and CD9. Good luck :)

Hi Girls, I'm desperately hoping to conceive a girl in June! I'm doing the LE diet but as for timing BD around ovulation....I just want to get pregnant and hope the diet will have been enough of a sway to get a girl! Do you know if you have to continue the diet after ovulation? I read somewhere that you should continue during the 2ww but if fertilization has already occurred the diet won't make any difference. Will it?
I'm looking forward to hearing all your BFPs!!!

As I understand it, fertilisation doesn't occur until a few days after dtd. So the advice is to continue the diet during the tww until you get a bfp

Thanks Stephk! I even asked DH to work out for me the bd days lol. (How rubbish am I?!) So we looked at last month and I had +OPK on CD15 which happened to be the 4th day anyway but yet we didn't catch the egg so maybe aiming for CD16 which sounds like a good compromise. Lavie-- The highest rates of pregnancy occur with dtd 1 or 2 days before O. So if you typically O on day 18 then I'd make sure you dtd on either CD16 or 17. DTD on O day actually has really low pregnancy rates since it can take up to 12 hours for the sperm to make it to the fallopian tubes and by then the egg can be dead! You want the sperm in the tubes ready and waiting when the egg pops! Good luck!
essnce629
June 9th, 2014, 05:04 AM
Me+4 Atomic says staying on the LE diet is important during the TWW because girl embryos prefer a low glucose environment, which is what we're trying to do with the LE diet. If you go back to your normal HE diet, then a girl embryo might not implant. So yes, continue during the TWW, especially the skipping breakfast and no snacking part which keeps blood sugar low.

I don't feel comfortable personally sticking with the diet too much during tww. If the egg is fertilized it's fertilized. I doubt the Le diet makes a girl implant better at all...The diet is bad..lol. I just do the low blood sugar but not to any extremes. No need to avoid meat or calories in my opinion...The reason to keep doing it is if you fail to get pregnant it's easier to get back on the diet.
I haven't exercised at all since my attempt...I threw my back out and it still isn't better. I hope I'm pregnant so I don't have to worry about it.

Hi Girls! Just reading along and checking in with you girls. I have no idea how many DPO I am. I could be anywhere from 2 DPO to 5 DPO since I had 5 straight days of +OPK's and my temps were slow to rise. I really doubt I'm pregnant at all because I don't think we timed it right. I really hope I am though since I've had some major cheats with the diet the past 3 days. I totally cracked since we had family get togethers all weekend and then today it just carried over. I really need to get back on tomorrow because I want to have a good chance next month. Can a few days of being off course be very detrimental to a sway the next month? I'm also nervous because we are going to a wedding next weekend where I will have no choice what I eat.

Primal mama - I read the best time to test with opks is 2-4 pm. I suggest testing 2x daily if you can bc some people have short surges and can miss it if they only test once.
Kitkat, glad to be of service :P. I was doubtful too, but here I am :)
Ioften cheated on the 2ww after a few days. There is a point where the egg would be fertilized if preggo and far enough away from the next attempt if not. I'd still skip breakfast and red meat, but didn't usually stay within my limits well!

primal - your tests should give instructions on the best time to test. I normally test around 2pm as thats what I heard is recommended but my tests say anytime between 10am and 8pm. Also I would have missed my surge this time if I hadnt tested twice on the day of my positive. That day I tested at 2pm and 4.30pm and the positive was at 4.30pm.
3girl - i am not a charting expert, but essnce usually has great chart insights I am sure she will chime in. The two times I have done a chart (when I got PG with DS and now this month) I have been slow to have a temp rise following O. Regarding the diet, you dont need to worry about a few days here or there when you are over and you should enjoy events like weddings. Cheats are mandatory on LE diet. Also, it is the overall pattern of eating and nutrition that counts, not going over on one or two days. I try to stay within limits monday to thursday and then relax at the weekend. Otherwise I would go insane :)
arimethia - glad you are feeling positive, fingers crossed this is your month!

I think FF is correct but you won't know for sure till you get a few more days of temps charted. Were all your +opks the same or did any have the test line darker than the control? I also had several days of +opks last month starting on CD10, but it wasn't till CD13 that my test line was darker than the control and stayed that way for 24 hours (the rest were equal to the control). Going by temp confirmation I didn't O till CD15 which is my normal O day. So last month I did an attempt on CD10 (first +opk) and again on CD13 when test line was darker than the control. I will do the same this cycle but I think my true positive is not till my test line is darker than the control so that's what I'm looking out for. I think I just have a long surge and really sensitive tests (Wondfo). Good luck!

And a question - AF has finished for the month, when should I start doing OPK? I have an irregular cycle so I'm not sure. My app says I should O next week around 14th, should I just test every day next week to make sure?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I started opks this month right after AF and OMG I got a positive WAY EARLIER than I imagined... Which basically means I'm in the 2ww right now. GAH! I'm so nervous but luckily we dtd the day before I got positive opk (I was testing every 2-3 days). So that's our one attempt and now I'm hoping the diet+muci and a little conceive plus get us there this month!

yes that must be really hard for you. Well you are now in 2ww, everything crossed for you. I am on boring CD3. Spoke to the doctor yesterday and asked if I should be worried about my short LP in relation to my low progesterone blood test in april and she said I shouldnt be worried about it, I should trust my body as it is getting back to normal by itself. She said if it hasnt improved in the next 2-3 cycles and I am still worried they will do the prog blood test again. I am happy with that and I am sure its all fine but like you and everyone else I just want to be PG now, been waaaaay too long.

Just been for a team lunch for a colleague who is going on her second maternity leave today. Her DS was born about 2 months after mine. I am so happy for her that this time was an oopsie because she had issues TTC the first time but I still cant help being a little jealous... she is hoping for a girl this time, I hope she gets one but I will defo be even more jealous lol. She said she was heavier when she conceived this time, but as she was still on mat leave she was probably a lot more relaxed than when she conceived the first time due to the nature of the work we were doing when she conceived the fisrt time. Probably does no exercise. Will be interesting to see.
During this lunch, my boss announced she is 14 weeks pregnant............. happy for her yes. But she said, it happened sooner than we thought but it always does, doesnt it (er no not in my case!! Not last time and not this time!!!) I predict girl for her. She is one of those people who is just so good at everything, doesnt need to compete etc. I know she drinks diet coke but I dont know anything else about her eating habits. Pretty sure she does moderate exercise because she does see a personal trainer at the gym but balks at the fact I go every morning.
why does it always happen to everyone else but not me :(

Aww Steph I am sorry. My sister in law took 2 years to get pregnant. She started taking tons of vitamins and doing something called uterine massage and the most the after she started that she got pregnant. Maybe you need to rethink some of the swaying. Do the exercise but drop the tight restrictions of diet?

June 12th, 2014, 10:07 AM
Hi I am a returned swayer.... tried from Jun 2011-Dec 2011 gave up diet for 2wks and got ready to give everything away. DH wanted to keep trying so we DTD but I only took a few things. We ended up conceiving twins but lost the girl at 8wks to a deformed heart. My husband is the one that wants to keep going for a girl because now he knows we can make one. We have been talking about it for a year now and thought we might try next year but figured now was just as good.
I am taking a lot to keep my ph low so I am not expected anything to happen this month. But I have the next 18mths planned for this sway.

June 12th, 2014, 10:17 AM
Thanks Rosie, yes i have already given myself permission to eat what I want now. The restriction was doing my head in a little just like the BD every 4 days did. Even though I am eating what I want, i am not doing too badly so I think its a good compromise. I am still doing the 14-16 hour fast, still mainly vegetarian but less focused on the guidelines (mine were quite loose anyway, 2000 cals, 30% fat and 50-60g protein). Weekends are for cheating still. Also I am now going to lay down after BD as long as possible, no J&D and I am going to have to ask DH to shower instead of hot baths now AF-O I think - he does love his baths. He cycles to work ever day so maybe that and the hot baths are not a great combination for TTC! As I said before if it doesnt happen this time its less of a disaster but I would still like it to happen so will still do everything I can to get PG. Problem is the pressure will REALLY be on if it doesnt happen this time. I am going to keep up with the acupuncture session around O, I dont think its going too far blue in my case. I dont care anymore even if I do get blue.
welcome purple and I am sorry for the loss of your little girl.

I've had 2 "oops" babies (while using bc, too!), and 1 where all we had to do was *think* about *maybe* having a baby and I was preg. It's killing me that after 5 months of actively trying, I'm still not preg. Ugh!

Hi Guys..
Quick question..
Anyone else have LONGER Ovulations? Like I am testing EVERDAY since day CD10 and I'm now on day 14 and still NEGITIVE OPK test? is this normal.. The OPK tests here are CRAZY expensive. I bought them this month for $80 for 20 tests! arrggghh
what is everyone else's O days in their cycles?

When I conceived my twins I ovulated on day 22! So I buy the really cheap opks and test every day from day 10 and when I begin to see a change I then confirm using the clearblue digital opk. That way it is more accurate and you are using far less of the expensive opks. I think I'm due to ovulate tomorrow..... Friday the 13th and a full moon!!!! Hopefully it'll be
lucky for me!

Hi Kitkat yep me with the attempt. I'm struggling to work out what my stupid cheap OPKs are telling me. I don't think I have O'd & today is the first day with EWCM but the test was still negative. Diet-wise as I said earlier I'm not doing LE anymore the lack of protein was sending me loopy. But I'm still fasting 14 hours or so, & eating low calorie (under 2000 a day) but not counting protein or salt.
Steph.... I can't remember if you read/commented on my post when I said it took us 5 years to conceive our first DS. It is so so hard & I totally get you. Like totally. Big big hugs & support from me sweetheart xx

thank you ladies for your responses!! Not taking Vitex no. I am doing the SP though? My hubby is VERY set on DTD tonight as it Is a full moon and Friday the 13. Im hoping I get the + results today. My last son was born on a full moon (4 days LATE!) and I think the full moon has some effect on me lol.
I will have to get more cheap tests for sure.. but that was my original problem this month. On day 11 I got a + result with a cheapo one (Two very distinct lines). I ran out and got the digital ones and it said negative.
I have no idea what that means.. but I think if it were true Ovulation it would have said yes on both tests. I tested a couple hours later.

Good luck on your attempt! I'd test 2x a day to be sure. And your nieces being pregnant with girls has no influence on your pregnancy, so stay positive! The earliest I've heard you can find out via blood test is 10 weeks with Harmony or Pandora testing -- which tests for chromosomal abnormalities and can give 95%+ accuracy on gender. I'd be interested in hearing what test does it at 6-7, though, if you find out the name!
Good luck and pink baby dust :)

1. Analysis of DNA from fetal cells in maternal blood samples is a screening test that is a non-invasive prenatal procedure and poses no risks to the mother or the fetus. The non-invasive baby gender predictor is based on the detection of Y chromosome-specific DNA in maternal blood samples.
2. This DNA identity baby gender test is relatively inexpensive in comparison to invasive techniques such as CVS or amniocentesis.
To learn more, read Misconceptions about the technology and an article in the Science magazine about the non-invasive prenatal technology.
Timing for the Test – Order test NOW!
Using DNA test from Health Genetic Center, a gender confirmation (Y-chromosome detection) can be done at 10 weeks of gestation.
Results – Order test NOW!
The procedure takes 7 business days, and the final report contains one of the following results:
- POSITIVE for the presence of Y-chromosome. Positive Y chromosome DNA test confirms the presence of a male fetus in the recent pregnancy.
- NEGATIVE for the presence of Y-chromosome. Negative DNA test result confirms the absence of Y chromosome DNA in maternal blood samples. This means that 1) the mother is carrying a female fetus or 2) amount of fetal DNA in maternal blood is very low (lower than the detection limit of the DNA test). Please note that if the sample is collected after 10 weeks of pregnancy then the technique is sensitive enough to detect a small amount of fetal DNA in mother’s blood. Only in very rare cases (less than 1%) this amount lower is than the detection limit at 10 weeks of pregnancy.
Sensitivity and specificity of the test - Order test NOW!
Sensitivity and specificity of the detection of male fetuses at 10 weeks of gestation for properly collected maternal blood samples is more than 99%. It is very good.
Price for the Prenatal Gender Test - Order test NOW!
Total price of laboratory DNA testing for baby gender test determination is $320.00 (US). The cost includes the diagnostic laboratory test, telephone consultations, sample collection kit, and final laboratory report. Please make sure the payment for the DNA baby gender test is included in the form of money order, VISA, Master Card or American Express. A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required to initiate the scheduling process and will be applied towards the case. The balance must be paid in full before we can release the DNA gender test results. All prices are in US dollars. I am ordering this test NOW!

I need some advice...
So AF arrived today so I guess I'm due to ovulate in roughly 2 weeks. But I have been so far off the LE diet bandwagon the last week. If we decide to TTC this month it will be our last chance this year as we are wanting to avoid another April-August birthday but is it even worth trying after being off the diet and no exercise for a week now?? And even before this week I was only back on LE for about 4 weeks since our m/c.
DH wants to try but I don't want to if it means our chances of a girl have been decreased due to my stupid lack of willpower!!! 😞

Thanks, Bethwade! I was doing vitex for a few months before ttc, then clomid on cycle 1, back to vitex on cycle 2, clomid cycle 3, nothing on 4 & 5. :/ No other meds. I figured maybe the vitex/clomid was messing with things too much for me. But...2 months off ands still nothing. I've loosened up the LE, too. I've been trying to exercise more, just to off set the fact that I'm doing almost nothing else to sway now. But I'm not a tiny thing, so I'm certain my BMI isn't too low to O. (Still at least 20lbs heavier than my lowest conception weight.)
AF is due, well, 2 days ago. But ever since my first round of clomid, my cycles have been a bit unpredictable. I'm 99% sure I'm out. Just waiting... sigh.

Lyragirl-- yes you'd dtd again at +opk. The sperm from your last dtd would probably be long gone by the time your egg arrives on scene since you don't actually O till up to 48 hours after your first +opk.
And we got our attempt in last night! I took another opk right before and the test line was way darker than the control! Feeling pretty optimistic this time. I did have an orgasm (always do) and did not jump and dump.

Super dooper good luck essence!!
Me 4 ditto what everyone else said I also get two days of pos opk and I always BD on the first, good luck you are almost in 2ww!
Lyagirl how many months have you been ttc? If you get a pos opk tomorrow would it make you three days since you last BD? In that case you could atomic suggests if its been a while three plus months to do BD every four days with an additional attempt lowers chances of pink but more chance of pregnancy, or just DTD day after pos opk which is the every four days and you still have a shot at a BFP!! I would also ask atomics advice on this good luck , it sucks when it gets messy !! Xx

Congrats Primal. I am still waiting on my positive OPK...Starting to think i'm not ovulating this month? I am on day 17 and have been testing 2x a day since day 10. I'm getting upset. I have been DTD very 4 days though to be safe.

Fx for you ladies in their 2ww!
Mum: I'm with everyone else : go for it! It's your overall change that counts. And the longer we r on the diet the harder it is to sustain it as it is mostly the contrary that we naturally do! I haven't had the same willpower either since my ectopic but I still believe the changes will sway ....keep faith x

I have been fairly relax with the whole POAS this cycle and thought I would not be stressed about OPKs...until now!!! Lol
I have just tested tonight and it is positive. I have no idea if its positive just now or has been since yesterday... We last DTD on Thursday night and so we are 'due' to DTD tomorrow as the 4th day. Do we keep to this or bd tonight? !
For info, last cycle I also had a +OPK on CD15, we DTD on that day and BFN. Grrr help please! Thanks!

Lavieenrose - not an expert on this at all, but I would personally BD tonight. Ovulation will probably occur tomorrow or maybe day after, and by then the swimmers from thursday are probably gone. Good luck!

La vie I personally would dtd tonight!!
Your options are:
Dtd tonight which is every four days with an additional attempt , lowers chance a smidge for pink but higher chance of pregnancy or dtd tomorrow every four days and still in with a chance ( I conceived one son day after pos opk).
I too will be doing every four days with an additional attempt next month , I think the stats are 65% for pink but as we all know no guarantees and no one will get DG if we don't get pregnant. Good luck!!! Lyagirl was in a similar position xxxxx

DH is suggesting DTD around 4am as a compromise so it would be in theory the 4th day but close enough to today - what do you think?
I cant believe what I'm writing lol , only on here I feel 'normal' to ask such question !

June 15th, 2014, 04:58 PM
I'd dtd tonight Lavie! Highest chance of pregnancy is when you dtd 1-2 days BEFORE O. You want the sperm waiting in the fallopian tubes when the egg drops and it can take up to 12 hours for them to get there after dtd.
laVieEnRose
June 15th, 2014, 05:11 PM
I guess I'm just 'hung up' on the frequency theory but maybe I'm just a bit confused. So if we dtd tonight it's is still a one and only attempt right? And does it matter that DH has 'released' 3 days ago instead of 4 days ago?

Hi girls, just checking in with you all. I'm still around. I think I'm either 9 or 10 days DPO. I took a FRER this morning and could have sworn I saw something, but it was just a gray shadow. Confirmed negative with a digi. I took a cheapie as well and it was so negative, that you could see a white line where the dye should have been. I know I'm still early, but I I would highly doubt I'm pregnant anyway since our timing was crappy. Although I really hope I am because I've fallen off the wagon majorly this week.

Back now and catching up!
me+4, primal and essnce - yay for your attempts and good luck :)
mum - being off the diet for one week when overall you have been on the diet will not affect anything, I think you should do your best between now and O and then attempt. Whats meant to be will be but one week in the grand scheme of things isnt going to ruin anything.
lavie - I would have DTD last night when you got the positive OPK - what did you decide?
kitkat - I am the same except BD when we feel like it and then again at pos OPK. I dont care if that makes it 2 attempts. The past 2 months have been technically 2 attempts and I havent gotten PG so cant be that fertile to get PG from one attempt anyway!!
3girl - hopefully you will get a BFP in another day or 2.

hi ladies well im waiting for my positive o, im abit confused though, i understand the whole theory that you get a girl by having sex before the egg releases so the male sperm as died off but why is it better to wait for peak ovulation on the tests, i thought it would be better to have sex up until the day of peak so theres only girl swimmers left but my plan says to only have sex on the day of peak o, can anyone explain :( im worried im not gonna get preggers this month if i keep waiting x

June 16th, 2014, 06:50 AM
Its because when you get a pos opk isnt when you're ovulating, it means you're about to ovulate and the lh hormone is at its highest. So when you test positive it only means you will ovulate in the next day or two. Hence why we do the deed on a pos opk to get in there before ovulation. Hope I made sense?

Hi guys!
Well it appears I missed ovulation this month. According to my BBT I ovulated on day 12.? We DTD on day 10 and on day 13. This whole thing boggles my mind though bc I used the cheap test day 12, and it was a slight positive. I ran out and bought the expensive tests to confirm and used it that day 5 hours later and it said negative. My theory is that I missed it ? Argh.. I am attaching my chart. If you guys can look and let me know what you think.. but it does appear ovulation happened.

I just hope and pray that we DTD on the right days.
I am now 6 DPO according to that chart.

If you ovulated on cd12, an attempt on cd10 is perfect. You want 1-2 days prior.

When is everyone going to start testing for pregnancy!?
I know some tests let you test as early as 5 days to expected period... that would put me at this Saturday! That would be 11 DPO for me.
I may test then...

June 16th, 2014, 09:46 AM
Butterflywarbie, the ONE attempt at positive opk is stressed I think because that timing is best odds for getting pregnant with less "swimmers". It is not because of the x surviving longer than the y. That timing theory has been debunked. :)

Robin I would try to hold out as long as possible before testing just because I started testing early the past few months and then had longer to be discouraged before AF started. I'm really going to try to wait until at least only 3 days before AF or maybe longer. Easy to say that now we will see in a week how I feel haha! A test will only show positive 5 days before if implanted really early.

Thanks girls!!!! I'm still not believing it until I see a darker line or a digi confirms. I just impulsively took another FRER and didn't see anything. Sorry 3girl, that sucks! Hope July is your month!
lyagirl-- the picture you posted is usually how my opk looks a day or so before a +opk. I usually test twice a day once it gets like that. I usually test around noon and then again before bed (so I can DTD if it turns +). I usually have a super long surge though with 3+ days of +opks which can also be confusing!!! Hope you still caught the egg. I think Rosie did without a +opk!
Lavie-- have fun with your sister! I think you and I are on the same cycle day again this month. I'm 2dpo I think (should get my cross hairs tomorrow). We leave for Greece on Sunday for 3 weeks so I'll be taking some hpt tests with me!

lavie - have a wonderful break and enjoy the croissants!
3girl - sorry AF found you :( fingers crossed this cycle will be yours.
lyagirl - it is possible you missed your surge (I have plenty times) - as essnce says, once it starts getting darker, consider testing twice a day so that you have more chance of catching it.
