Hello! New to GD:) I can't seem to find anything solid about alcohol and swaying. I drink beer 2-3 days a week (maybe 1-4 max each of those days) and am wondering if I will have to give that up for my sway. Any help?

I know I need a specific essay on that topic! :) Sorry.

You don't need to give up moderate alcohol intake, as long as you're young and have good egg quality, BUT when you're on a blue diet such as HE Diet, you end up gaining a lot of weight fast and thus it can be better to limit calories that you don't absolutely NEED.

I'm a beer drinker and have two girls so I decided to give it up during my boy sway for some red wine, I had a couple glasses of red wine during the few days of ovulation

This holds true for me...I used to be a big beer drinker, but gave it up for red wine, which I convinced myself was "better" for me since it had resveratrol, LOL. I LOVE my red wine now, and got my boy when I was drinking it :)

There are a lot of ladies on here adding alcohol to their girl sway. It's empty calories and it may lower fertility, potentially swaying Pink (when consumed in higher amounts than you're talking about). FWIW I never drank at all when I conceived my 2 boys.

I know a few people's personal experiences are not statistically that helpful however I can say I was drinking moderate amounts (enough to get tipsy or drunk 1-3 times a week) when trying to conceive both boys. I have many friends that were also drinking when they conceived their boys. Atomic knows best but I wouldn't give up a glass or two of wine or beer for swaying either gender personally.

Just realized that kind of made me sound like an alcoholic. Obviously I can and would give up drinking for a good reason and I am normally not getting drunk 3 times a week. LOL. I just can't imagine one glass of beer will really change anything and swaying can become kind of stressful if you set yourself up too many rules. :)

Thank you ladies!! I guess I was most concerned about acidity. I am pretty acidic and have a daughter who just turned 1 last week. I randomly tested shortly after having her and I was way more alkaline than I've ever been. I tested a few more times over the next weeks or so while full time BF and not drinking (and of course no alcohol during preg either). But now
That I'm back to havin a few beers a few days a week my ph is back down. Other than just giving birth lol I can't think of anything different. I'm still BF 2-3 times per 24 hours.

Acid/alkaline diet is totally debunked and I would not worry about it one iota.

IF pH even sways, testing after giving birth and/or while breastfeeding does not tell you anything. You need to test pH at ovulation only.

The reason why your pH goes up and down may be from yeast (alcohol makes some people really yeasty) and it may be because alcohol is dehydrating and may have dried out your VJ to such an extent that it affects your pH.

Thank you Atomic!! After reading through the forums on here I see that the whole ph thing has fallen out of favor since the last time I was on here (about 2 years ago). What a relief:) I could never get mine to budge!

There are some sites who are still super into the pH stuff but after I got a boy with pH of 4.5 it was awfully hard to believe it in. When I looked into the biology of it, it couldn't possibly be true and I wrote an essay about that here: http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/11684-ph-pickle.html
