View Full Version : BD every 4 days?

I was thinking for my sway to BD every 4 days so I didn't have to mess with opk's. But for most of my cycles I have 4-5 days of ewcm, after thinking about it that might put 2 attempts in my "fertile window". I am pretty sure ds3 was conceived 4 days out...
Anyone else have this many days of fertile cm??? Did the diet help dry some of it up, or did you have to take antihistamine's to help?
I am not TTC until fall, so I guess I have time to figure it out;)
Thanks!

I don't mind using opks, but I do have at least 2 days of ewcm. I used antihistamines for our attempt.

Thanks for the replies! I was half embarrassed to mention the amount of days I have fertile cm:suprise: but I figured it is worth it to figure out how this boy friendly body of mine can make a girl for my family:) plus you guys can't see me blushing!
I am getting ready to ovulate now so maybe I should test out some Zyrtec and Benadryl.....

Oops, yes, you are absolutely right, not sudafed (sorry I got all old school there). Zyrtec or Benadryl :agree:

the diet will dry you out considerably, and the best antihistamine to use is zyrtec. DH and I take it for allergies and there are no side effects, it lasts 24 hours and it will make your cm very dry. I too have a son from what seems like a 4 day cut off (not entirely sure of O date). You could extend it to BD every 5 days but it may take you longer to get pg, don't be surprised if you get a BFN that first month. But if you aren't in a hurry then that's no biggie.

Uh, yeah, this is me. I have tons of ewcm...for at least 3 days, sometimes 4, even on the strictest LE diet. (It hasn't seemed to change that for me at all!) The one thing that did change the cm for me was clomid, but I had other nasty side effects, so I'm not taking that this cycle. Zyrtec helps so I've been doing that. If it's really bad, zyrtec in the morning, Benadryl at night.
HOWEVER... I've been TTC for 4 months, dtd in the prime window, with no positives. So ewcm alone doesn't mean you're super fertile.

Me too!! But after six months on the le diet I have to say I have little to no cm just watery on peak day. Deft. Take antihistamines good luck xxxx

I had 7 at least a week of fertile CM prior to the LE diet...but on the diet my CM is creamy except for 1-2 days.

Swaying will go a long way towards drying up that CM. Diet absolutely dries up CM and you can always toss in antihistamine if need be.
It's been proven definitively to be very difficult to get pg 4 days before ovulation and the way it works out, it really IS only one attempt in fertile window for most people. Even if you had the absolute worst case scenario and had one attempt 4 DPO and then again on O day, neither are great odds of conception so even with both attempts, it's not going to equal one good attempt on one of the better odds-of-conception days.
Yes, I often have that many days of EWCM

Antihistamines are safer than sudafed and I prefer people use them instead. :)

IT dries up cervical mucus, but I don't think it's safe to use Sudafed for ladies (it's causes strokes in young women) and I prefer you guys use antihistamines
I have put the directions for antihistamine in your sway plan.
