Those on the HE diet, do you try and eat sweets and find you just can't eat as much chocolate (for example) as you used to. Weeks ago, dh picked me up a Picnic chocolate bar from the shops. I quite happily ate the whole thing, then felt sick afterwards. Last night I purchased some groceries from the supermarket and bought myself a Snickers bar to sneak in before I got home. I ate the whole thing and felt sick. I have had this happen a few times now.

I just can't tolerate anything too sweet anymore. Before going on the diet, I could have eaten at least two Picnic or Snickers bars before feeling sick.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

When I eat my normal HE style diet sweets make me very sick. Even for the first month of LE I couldn't eat sweets without wanting to be sick. Even fruit seems very very sweet when you are on a HE style diet. I think it's normal and a great sign you are following the diet properly! As a side note the few times I've had red meat on LE I've gotten very ill. Funny how quickly our systems change!

Thanks for the reply bluebonnet. I was thinking and hoping it meant I was following the diet well. I don't even crave chocolate before AF anymore. So glad this diet is having an affect :)

Yep, HE is my "normal healthy diet," and I could really only tolerate dark chocolate and small amounts of sweets. My sensitivity to sweet things was higher, too. In fact, once I ordered a soda water (just water with bubbles) and lemon, and I SWORE when I tasted it that they'd accidentally poured me a lemon-lime soda. My husband tasted, made sour face, and declared that I was insane!

I haven't yet found the time to introduce myself so sorry that this is my first post but...

I have been changing my diet to be more in line with the HE diet over the last month or so (hopefully ttc in Aug/Sept) and have to say I've noticed this too.

The first thing I did was cut out sweets and chocolate and I've always craved and eaten large quantities of sugary foods. Now I don't even fancy them if they're right in front of me!!

Welcome RedSH :) Yes, I am the same. Great to hear. Do you know we can eat dark chocolate on the HE diet? In fact, atomic recommends it due to the antioxidants :)
