My AF arrived today. I will ovulate on day 11 (as usual).

Last cycle we did FR. He released every evening. It was very, very hard for hubby. And normally I become pregnang very easily (3 times first try). Maybe sperm reduction was to much?

How is FR actually defined? Does he really have to release every day? Are there some new recommendations?
He takes licorice roote 3x/d as well and he turns 40 in october.

I understand it is hard! I thought FR was defined as at least 7 times in a row (once every day).

If your DH doesn't want to do this anymore, i'll recommend compressed frequent release starting on the day you have a pos opk.
Before that, just release every 3/4 days.

Day of pos opk: let him release and DTD 12 hours later.
If you want to (and it got me pregnant, i think), you can do another attempt 24 hours later (in 12 and 24 hours respectively, sperm is not fully recovered yet so you will have a reduced sperm count). That second attempt will be 36 hours after pos opk, so most of the time near O.

Thanks for your reply!
Maybe we will consider the "compressed release" you suggested.
But I think I want to stick to one attempt. I think thatīs higly recommended.

FR is daily release.

I do not recommend the compressed FR, it's even harder than the daily FR is.

I would have him just release every 2-4 days and then go for one attempt at pos OPK.

a)that is not compressed FR. Compressed FR is 2-3 releases a day for 2-3 days in advance of one attempt (the second release of the day.)

b)I really really don't recommend adding attempts till you ahve dropped all otehr sway tactics including release patterns. Can it work, of course, but there is always a chance of pink. Many people can't time their ovulation so precisely and it could easily end up being 2 attempts right at the peak of fertility. 2 attempts has still gotten better than 50-50 but I would stick with one until all other tactics otehr than diet, fiber, exercise have been dropped.

c)a hurry up FR is when you release once, dump it, then DTD again as quickly as he's able to using only the second batch for insemination. I do not recommend wiating 12 hours, that is more than enough time for most men to make another nice big batch of fresh sperm and may sway blue.
