I would love any and all guesses please and thank you!

PS I asked the tech about nub theory and she declined to comment on it or the gender of the baby. However, she did specifically say, "I printed out a really clear picture for you." Hmmmm...

UPDATE: It's a GIRL!! Thanks for the guesses ladies!!! :D

If baby is 13 weeks then that's a girl.

Baby did measure 13 weeks (as I did as well) however "technically" I was only 11 weeks and 4 days. Could this just be a big baby? My son measured a week or two early my whole pregnancy and came out HUGE (10 pounds)!

I actually think it is much more accurate to go by gestation age over measurement. I find the most times the guesses are wrong is when people guess based on measurement and not gestation age. With that being said, I will lean girl, but still plenty of time to rise so really it is 50/50 guess

Thanks for the response Dream Vet, baby measured 64.8 mm...I think that puts baby in in 12+4 to 13 week range, correct? Or does it not matter anyway?

Personally, measurements mean very little, I go by gestation age. I just have seen soooo many wrong guesses because people go by the measurement and not the gestation age

Ok, thanks for your input kaseybaby! (I thought your username was "dream vet", lol) Are you a tech or just a seasoned guesser?

just a seasoned guesser. But I have been on IG for years, and GD since it started.

I think it's pretty cool what you guys do. I've been doing A LOT of research on nub theory and it seems pretty hotly debated as far as accuracy is concerned. Do you keep track of your personal guesses by chance, seeing which ones actually wind up boy or girl based on your predictions? I ask because there is a tech over at babycenter who's been doing it in person (without informing patients) for over ten years, and she also guesses on people's pics online in a way similar to this forum. She's skeptical about the theory in general but averages being right 85% of the time. Those seem like pretty good odds to me! :)

I peeked at the confirmed boy pics on this site and I can tell you that there seem to be less "girlie" looking nubs that wind up boys than what's posted over at in-gender. I know my son had a girlie nub and was guessed "girl", and he obviously wound up being a boy, so I was hesitant to even try nub theory again. However, I will say this, I was 12+6 with him at ultrasound and he was measuring 13+4 and his nub looks very, very different than this little bugs nub. We shall see I guess!

In these earlier ultrasounds they are going off of baby's physical development and NOT size. There is no way (barring gross incompetence on the part of the tech) that a baby could be confused 11+4 with 13 weeks. They'd be at totally different stages of development.

If you're REALLY at 13 weeks, looking girly. If you're really at 11+4, it is too early to tell and girly bits and boy bits are identical at this stage.

You're probably talking about Turtle over at baby center. I know my high risk doc says it is about 80% accurate after 12 weeks, but before then it is nothing more than a 50/50 shot at a guess. I sort of hold true to that. I just hate seeing people get their hopes up and then have them let down because they thought the guess was very accurate based on "measuring ahead". I don't keep track of my guesses. I am right more than wrong. As I said, it looks girly, but 11.4 is just too early to feel comfortable saying for sure. If the baby is 13 weeks then it is a very girl nub.

Thanks for taking the time to give feedback Atomic Sagebrush! My 11+4 is based on when I think I ovulated. I've been charting for years, but the month before I had a horrible cyst rupture so I think it really messed up my cycle. I put myself at 11+4 based on EWCM, but according to my LMP I was at 12+2. The tech has been doing this for years and both she and my doc gave a firm 13 weeks on the dot gestational measurement. The baby measured 64.8mm if that makes any difference?

Thanks kaseybaby, you've been very patient with me, lol! Yes, I was referring to Turtle...she also guessed girl for what it's worth. I really, really would love a daughter. The baby is due on my moms birthday and this is the 10th anniversary of her death, so I'm hoping she pulled some strings from up above and got me my girl. ;)

Either way this baby was a total surprise and I thought I was just going to have my little man. I'll be delighted to give him a brother or sister, and I think for my sanity I'm going to go in assuming boy but dreaming I hear "girl". I appreciate everyone's guesses, and I feel hopeful!

I would feel pretty good about that ultrasound then. :) No guarantees but still I would be cautiously optimistic.

With my DS 4 I got pg with twins but lost one and thought I had AF but in reality, it was a miscarriage. I had the SHOCK of my life when I went into an ultrasound thinking I was like 10 weeks pg only to find out I was almost 14!!! At first I couldn't believe it but sure enough he came right when they predicted he would!

Oh wow Atomic Sagebrush, I can't even imagine!! Our bodies are so complex at times, even with the most dedicated charting and paying attention to every little thing. LOL, I'm going to stop hogging the forum now and update in a couple weeks when I have my anatomy scan...thinking positive thoughts for pink !
