Very sweet :). So happy for them. But did I read the end right? It said she couldn't have done it if she had all boys. Rowdy, messy etc. That was a bit unnecessary really.

We'll have to write the opposite article for you Mum...after you have your girl!
And its a bunch of bologna that girls are easier...mine are far more difficult than many boys I have taken care of.

Yah really!! I'd rather have a bunch of boys personally but maybe that's cause I'm biased;)

hmmm there are some nice things about that story, such as raising peoples awareness to hurtful comments that they can make which will hopefully make people think twice before saying it (oh, another girl/boy), but then there are not so great things too and generalisations (sorry but why is a girl more delicate than a boy - you can still have bouncy/rough play?!). But it is a newspaper I guess and it has to report things in a certain way. Was nice to read it and it does give hope.

my niece is EXTREMELY loud, rowdy, messy etc, loves playing football, getting messy etc etc so I really hate stupid generalisations. My friend at the weekend even said when her boy and my boy were running around 'oh, if we had girls they would just be sitting here quietly' I said - no you cant know that for sure, everyone is different!

Yes but let's all cut each other some slack on that, because I know many people think things like that to themselves to alleviate gender disappointment!

True atomic. Its something I've heard others say that I know they don't mean...just protecting their hearts.
I personally would have liked all girls over all boys but I'd never trade now.

Ha! My son gets upset if he drops crumbs on the floor and picks them up and puts them in the bin, and his fave passtime is using the broom! He doesnt fit the 'mould'.

Yes true we do need that reminder - you never know what's going on inside someone's head any more than they know what's going on in ours.

My son also loves sweeping, playing with the broom, dustpan and brush and the Hoover! I'm looking forward to when he can do it properly.... By then he would have lost interest though *sigh* lol

Steph - let them do it to their heart's delight when they're small even if they make a bad job of it, then they're more likely to do it when they're older. I DIDN'T do that with my oldest son (I woudl always take over and do it "right") and he's the worst about housekeeping! My second son I let him do it without interfering and he is like a very manly maid LOL

To be honest I rarely do cleaning, my DH does most of it so when DS does it I find it really cute!! When the washing machine is done now he comes to pass me the clothes and I make such a big fuss over him for helping mummy it's so cute :)
I would never interfere with any male doing household chores hehe
