View Full Version : What would you have done differently?

I know that no sway is guaranteed and all of us should be prepared for an opposite gender result, but if you could go back and try again (or tweak your sway), is there anything you would have done differently that you think would have helped? Or do you think it was just bad luck?

I've got a few thoughts on this as I swayed pink hard in 2012 and wasn't successful. I stuck so strictly to LE that I lost too much weight too fast. We therefore did multiple attempts to maximise chance of conception and I had to increase my calories slightly, which I imagine gave my body the message that times weren't as hard any more. My cycles lengthened to 40 ish days long, making it difficult to pinpoint ovulation, so FR was tricky logistically too. So this time I think we'll DTD every four days to ensure we catch the fertile window without me obsessing over OPKs and temps. I normally cook from scratch using wholegrains and fresh ingredients, so I continued with that but in a vegetarian, low fat way. With hindsight I feel that I was consequently still eating quite a nutritious diet. So this time I'm aiming for 1800cals (I'm BF) and tonnes more processed food, white bread, instant noodles and gin and tonics!

I don't know the results of my sway yet. I just got a BFP on Sunday, but if I get a boy this time I will likely get off my antidepressants so I can lose more weight and make sure to try adding exercise. I've heard that exercise is getting great results.

I dont know yet if my sway worked but i have a strong feeling it didnt- i doubt ill sway again but if i did id def. add exercise, skip antihistamines, and be better about taking the aspirin regularly. Im really mad at myself for not exercising :(

I'm not even PG yet but with an attempt just 1-2 weeks away I'm already having regrets like not exercising and having a few too many cheats (like a whole week!). 😕

I still don't know if I had a successful sway, but my story is very similar to weezie. I too swayed hard losing weight when I really didn't need to loose anymore, hence losing Ov. I had to increase cals and slow down on my extreme exercising plus had to increase to upper limits on LE. So we shall see soon if I swayed the opposite.

Tosh the good news is, a lot of things I feel like we've figured out a bit better than 3 years ago and my hope and expectation is that our results will continue to get better over time.

i reallly really do not think CFR is getting better results. Look at the sample size, it's MINISCULE and virtually everyone who did CFR had one attempt (because that's how CFR is done). That number says nothing about the effectiveness of CFR, it simply reflects the effectiveness of one attempt.
I am totally over the frequency patterns. ALL of them. They are doing nothing other than preventing conception and giving the Marthas out there another thing to obsess over. I do still include them in sway plans because people want them, but I urge everyone to consider going with reg. release and one attempt or BD every 4 days instead of frequency patterns.

I would focus on getting pregnant quicker! I think I wasted too much energy on frequency and sperm count that it too so long to get pregnant, I had lost the benefit of everything else I had done (diet and change of condition). I would also stick to the diet harder. After a year, I lost the will so was not strict at all.
Exercise is a tricky one for me as I am bit sure I could commit to 6 times a week. Maybe a will have to get a Davina DVD and do it in my lounge!

Besides eating everything in site lol rushing to get pregnant! I'm definitely taking my time next sway, learning the LE diet and doing the diet the right way.

:agree: 1 zillion trillion kajillion percent on this. I see a strong trend in this direction, where the people who do too strict a sway and go on ages without conceiving are getting opposites.
I don't know if it's a question of cutting back too far then practically having to sway blue to restore ovulation, a Mary-Martha thing where the perfectionists are just more likely to get boys to start with, or both (my money's on both)
