Hi all :)
have a quick question (may turn into a long one....).
I'm curious about progesterone levels. I know low levels can indicate a possible miscarriage.
But my levels are 113 (could have been 3w5d or 4w), the receptionist said they were high (which I knew ... usually they hope for above 20 and average is up to 47).
Anyone have any experience with high progesterone? Does it mean anything?
Thanks in advance,
Angie
P.S. my hcg was 273 up from 122 two days before :)

I hve read it can indicate a molar pregnancy...which is super rare, it can mean twins and it is common after a miscarriage to have high progesterone. Some women also just have higher than normal. It can make pregnancy symptoms worse as far as constipation and runny nose.
In your case I bet it is twins!! I read a forum online and a lady had similar blood to yours and she had twins!!!

Either way I think you can rest assured your pregnancy is healthy and sticky!

I keep reading molar pregnancy and gosh, I hope THAT's not it!!!
I hope to "convince" my doctor to send me for an early u/s (6 weeks, plus a day or three) just to confirm heartbeat and such. I have read it may indicate twins....but I'm not putting too much into that. I'll be thrilled with one healthy pregnancy -- hoping for two seems like too much. I've always wanted 4 and it was REALLY hard to convince DH to go for 3...so....
As for pregnancy symptoms, I don't really have any. And constipation??? Holy, I'm sooooo the opposite of that ATM.
Guess only time will tell!!! I hope it's the healthy and sticky bean theory :)

I wouldn't worry about it, a molar is super rare and there is usually other symptoms. I think just a sticky baby (ies)

I'm not even going to Google it. I know basically what it is but I have no desire to spend my time "symptom spotting"!
Thanks :)

So atomic..since her progesterone is high does it make it more likely she is carrying a girl??

In my research, I did read that fast rising hcg can indicate girl. I wouldn't say mine are fast rising though. They're pretty typical. But now I'm off to the google to find out about progesterone!

4 days later -- progesterone fell a little -- from 113 to 92. I commented on that and the nurse said "it's still considered high". I said, oh yes, I know :)

Yes but it's like a Janet Reno, Danny Devito thing - you can say "most men are taller than most women" but that doesn't mean that there are many women who are taller than many men. Please don't get hopes up on this basis.
