I was watching these videos Cooking with Mama June : Videos : TLC (http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/here-comes-honey-boo-boo/videos/cooking-with-mama-june.htm) (9 videos) on how honey boo boo mother june cooks and wonder how she has all girls4! The way they eat and snack I would think she would have had mostly boys. Maybe it's because even though she eats foods like that maybe she eats smaller portions.

When will you be TTC again?
I'm not sure just yet,I'm scared lol. I just got on the mini pill. I'm gonna give it some time definitely not rushing it. I'm just soaking up all the info I can get. I wouldn't mind a oopsie pregnancy and luck up and it just happened to be my baby girl lol.

That's totally opposite of what I'm trying to do to conceive a girl (losing weight and not eating much).

I'm always on some kind of low calorie diet and I have 3 girls, so it must work LOL!
I'm thinking that her weight affects her overall health so that might sway girl?
Mumofsix- I really hope you get your girl!

Maybe it's the crappy quality of food? I'm heavy, probably not quite as much as her (I've only seen her a couple times & have no clue on her height/weight) & have 4 boys. Even when we were poor & used the food bank, we wouldn't have eaten like that.

That's what I was thinking...from what I have seen of the show, the food they eat doesn't look very nutritious.

I think a diet that is mostly junk in high amounts totally sways pink. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/3187-big-girls-little-girls-baby-girls-boys.html
I haven't watched them (I will when I get onto my Kindle becasue my computer sound isn't hooked up yet from moving) but I have seen some other things about her cooking and it looked TOTALLY pink friendly to me.

That's because it would be crazy and unhealthy for me to tell everyone, "gain 200 lbs to conceive a girl." :)
It's NOT about losing or gaining weight. It's about maternal condition and fertility. And being very heavy is also another way that messes up a person's overall health and has been shown to reduce fertility even MORE than being too thin has for many people.

It wasn't butter, it was margarine. Studies have shown that a high intake of Omega 6 fats like those in margarine sways pink http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/39013-skinny-fats-pink-blue.html
Other studies have shown that when a person gets most of their cals from carbs that also sways pink, which I can guarantee ya she does.

I agree and I don't want anyone to do it - but it does explain why Mama June and her older daughter have so many girls between them. :)

makes sense though...I have a friend who is on the heavier side and she eats a lot of junk food and has two girls.

I'm also starting to see where the diet sodas come into play..my step mom drinks a TON of diet sodas and has 4 girls and one boy...she didn't say whether she continued with her diet soda intake with him.

Just the other day I was trying to explain the whole lowering maternal condition thing to DH, telling him I wanted to lose some weight right before trying to conceive. Then I said, or we could just gain a bunch of weight by eating McDonalds every day!!
I was just being funny of course;)
Super unhealthy, was my guess for the honey boo boo family:(

I've never been a soda drinker...I don't let my boys drink it either so it has been hard for me to include it in my sway..my husband loves it though so he's been happy that I have been buying it.

I don't think I can make myself drink anything with aspartame. Even to get a girl. I know too much bad stuff about it. It probably sways pink because of how toxic it is, imo.

I didn't realize aspartame was in so many foods though...I never really took time out to look at the labels..I went to buy lowfat yoplait and saw the container said "now made with no aspartame" didn't even know it was in there to begin with.

That is so true. Aspartame is in flavored water, crystal light, and tons of other drinks and food!!

Aspartame is even in most the gum we chew! It is crazy. Anything sugar free, and I noticed the stuff in most yogurts also. It is in a lot of flavored teas also. It won't even say aspartame listed in the ingredients, it just says "other artificial flavoring". You have to actually call the company to ask!

I think products here all have to be labelled. Everything with aspartame or sucralose, etc all have it on the label, not just the ingredients, but in good size text on the front too.
It's so frustrating how many things it's in. Basically anything low fat has it & anything for diabetics. Personally, I think artificial sweeteners are so unhealthy even diabetics are better off with a bit of real sugar.(dh is diabetic due to not having a pancreas anymore)
I don't think you can even get store gums without that...stuff anymore. Which, I guess makes finding it easier for people who do want to use it to sway?
I came over here from IG & the amounts they were suggesting/using were insane.

All of my family and friends who are very heavy have girls. On the other hand, a couple I know who have had eating disorders and are super skinny have girls too. It seems to be the in-betweeners who have boys.

It's so weird how it all works...my sister is heavy and has two girls...my step sister is tiny and just had a little girl. My step mom is small but eats like crap and had 4 girls.

My mother had all girls and is very heavy. She drinks a lot of coffee, smokes and has schizophrenia. So maybe all the meds she was on swayed girl for her.

I'm in the death fatz range on the lousy BMI & have 4 boys. I've been in that range with them all. My super skinny sister (not bio related) has boys too. I'm actually more surprised about her boys than mine, from everything on this site. I'm hoping it's more the change in condition that sways than where you start from. She's always been super skinny & exercised a lot, I've always been heavy & too worn out from untreated hypothyroid to exercise much.

:agree: I have seen people get boys doing a level of artificial sweetener intake that I truly feel "insane" is the best word to describe. One teeny thing that may help, but PLEASE no one go nuts with it.

It's only weird till you view it thru the lens of the Trivers Willard Hypothesis and my Fertility Theory though. We are so inured to thinking of swaying as a kind of "do this, get that" type of thing that it's hard to unplug that and realize it's what the human body does in response to "doing this" that is actually swaying.
Some people are just fit as a fiddle and can shake off the entire contents of a Nutrasweet factory, and others have to do everything in their power just to get pregnant at all. And you can't necessarily tell this by looking at a person!
