I'm devastated and so confused :( have had nausea, vomitting, cramps, and dizziness all week. Have been getting positive hpt tests for the past 4 days since 11dpo. Even did opks and they were all positive. Today is the day AF was suppose to start and I woke up with bleeding :( what does this mean? :(

Stay calm and see where it goes... if it acts normal. I do not know if you take a test while bleeding but I would wait till it stops and test again.

With DS1 I was on the pill and not trying. We only dtd a few times days before AF came (while in Mexico). I came back from Mexico sick and the Dr said I was preg.

I second keeping calm. I think I might actually call the doctor just to check in with them BUT I have heard that some people still get a period when they are pregnant.

I am sending positive thoughts your way though!

It may not mean anything. Some people do have bleeding in early pregnancy and go onto have healthy babies. Obviously it's not as good a sign as if there was no bleeding but as long as the test stays positive, it may work itself out over time.

Thank you ladies. I'm trying hard to stay calm. I haven't bled any more since 4 hours ago when I had light bleeding n spotting for a couple of hours.

Have you taken another test to see if it has gotten darker? I guess that's what I would be doing.

Ive been testing every morning since 11dpo when I got my bfp and i got my darkest line this morning at 15 dpo. I tested about an hour after I noticed the bleeding.

Im not sure if ill see any visible change in the line if I test now. Was thinking of maybe waiting til tomorrow morning to compare?

The fact that it's gotten darker is good. The bleeding is likely nothing. It takes 5 to 10 days for bleeding to start after a miscarriage has been "decided" by the body and the numbers will drop before then.

I wouldn't read too much into it at this point. Lots of women bleed in early pregnancy and have perfectly healthy babies. Some women have small bleeds around their placenta and it causes non-dangerous bleeding.

With your tests still getting darker, it does not sound like you HCG is falling and therefore, I doubt the blood is related to a chemical pregnancy (I've had quite a few, so I know that song and dance).

Just keep an eye on it and see what happens. If you get really crampy or the blood picks up, then maybe call the doc to see what they want to do (blood numbers, etc). Otherwise, I bet you are okay. Sending good thoughts!

Hi ladies,

Just wanted to give a huge THANKS to everyone and an update!

I'm feeling a bit better since yesterday. I haven't had any more bleeding since yesterday.

I took another pregnancy test and I think the line looks darker today at 16dpo. I also took a digital this morning.

Hopefully I can be calmer once I see a doctor!
