I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but I wanted to create a 'positive' post (that can be added to) of celebrity/ inspirational mums/ moms (not that I consider all of these celebrities inspirational lol!) of 2 or more boys as I'm getting a bit sick of society ALREADY judging me (and my unborn baby boy) for not magically producing the 'perfect' PP!

good idea, I"ve been thinking of starting a thread like this forever. I like knowing I'm not alone in obsessively monitoring the gender of celebrity babies ;)

I would add Patricia Heaton with 4 boys and Catherine Keener, Meg Ryan, and Mary Louise Parker who also have only sons (Meg Ryan and MLP have adopted daughters)

It's also fun to look at celebs that came from all boy families, they are usually very sexy like Matthew McConaghey (3 boys) and Ryan Reynolds (4 boys) OR very creative like Joss Whedon (5 boys) and Hayao Miyazaki (4 boys)

Love this thread. It's weird, but in all of my boys school years the most common pattern is either 2 boys or 2 girls - there really aren't a huge amount of pigeon pairs, obviously some. There are also quite a lot of 3 boys/3 girls and of course some 2 +1. Personally, I genuinely don't think society or anyone judges when you have 2 of one gender, but it certainly starts when you have 3+....x

THere is a study out there that indicates this to be the case - actresses and models had more sons than statistical average. But I can't find it right now. There are several celebrities with all/mostly girls too!

Lots have same sex children - Kyle Richards has four girls for example.

I've also noticed depending on which state the show is set in can be predominantly one gender as the offspring they produce (hope this makes sense!?). So for example Atlanta has predominantly boys (except for Kim who has gone on to have two boys and then b/g twins with a different partner after having two girls), so does Miami but then Orange County and New York has predominantly girls. Could this also be a case of lifestyle that affects this...hmmmmmmm x

I wonder if this is to do with the boys 'swimmers' (maybe the rugby chaps bits get more squashed up and hot lol) or the women they choose as their partners...

I also think that VB probably did undergo HT to get her girl (said with no disrepct about that or to her as it is my aim also) and I would also not be surprised if Jools Oliver (Jamie Oliver's wife) went HT to get her boy as it is my understanding that they needed fertility meds, if not ivf to conceive anyway.

If there is a celeb on here and you are reading this, I really wish you guys would be more vocal about all fertility treatments, gender pref. or no. Use your celebrity power for good instead of evil. I mean there ain't no earthly way that Laura Linney at the age of 50 got pg without an egg donor or her own, previously frozen eggs (which most of us cannot afford leaving egg donors as the only reasonable option available to people). There are tons of ladies out here in the real world who get a lot of guff and negativity from friends and family about using egg donors or other aggressive fertility treatments when the reality of the situation is that most of the celebrities who are getting pg at 43+ used them. And it's creating a false perception for people about their ability to get pregnant over the age of 42 to see so many celebrities doing it and refusing to admit that they used an egg donor or had frozen eggs back when they were 27 or even admit to fertility treatments at all. Celebrities could really use their public image to help people on this issue!! There is NOTHING wrong with using an egg donor and I would love to see more people open to the possibility rather than throwing their money away on hopeless IVF cycles thinking "well Kelly Preston had a baby at 48" if that was her egg (unless she froze it in her younger days) because the odds are astronomical that that is the case.

Ok so I was reading an article about Kim K sun tanning in Mexico (I know! Don't judge me haha!) but if you read the whole article her somewhat famous friends did IVF with GS for twin girls! They are very open about it. I think it's great! (Haha and Kim's bum is seriously from another planet right!? Haha)

Welll...speaking as someone from a family who just lost someone to ALS, in this case I'm glad LOL ;) but there are absolutely tons of other worthwhile charities out there to support and I hope everyone donates to their charity of choice. :) Ice bucket or no.

I agree there is something offputting about how it's become what I would call pretty much a celebrity publicity stunt (and I'm sorry but Jared, that was NOT a bucket of ice!!) but heck, it's raised 40 million dollars for a disease that no one even knew what it was a year ago. I really would love a cure or treatment because I am so paranoid about my children having some gene for it so if this helps accomplish that, cool! :)

AS I'm mostly just irritated by everyone calling it the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and the fact it was going for over a month as a general charity thing. As someone who had 2 fathers (bio & adoptive) die from cancers no one ever fundraises for, and who worked for a different charity organisation that had trouble raising money, I find it frustrating. The number for ALS is now over $70million, btw.

I totally understand where you are coming from and it would be great to live in a world where there was unlimited funds for medical research (or better yet, cures for everything already) . We don't, and in the real world sometimes weird shit like this goes down and I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. I don't mean even a smidge of offense in any way but billions are spent on cancer research, awareness, etc (and that's small consolation for those who have lost someone to cancer, I know). So, yeah, I concur there's an "ick factor" in the "disease of the month" way this is all coming to pass, I'm happy to have the dough, hopefully within our lifetimes we can see cures for all these diseases. :)

BUT interestestingly enough - Taylor Hanson has 4 or 5 kids and only 1 is a girl I believe (the youngest)... Zac Hanson has 3 kids and only 1 girl (youngest) and Ike Hanson has 2 - both boys.

I often wonder if this whole deal would just be a lot easier to take if you had everything else. Not saying I don't empathize with them because I completely and totally do, but one of the things that feels the "hurtiest" to me at times is how people who have literally everything - money, great life at least from outside looking in - also have pigeon pairs. It's like they have all that, and then a daughter, too. I wonder if I had more of the "goodies" if I would've been ok with 2-3-4 boys. I think I might have been. I just felt like, because I feel like I haven't had X, Y, Z, I deserved a daughter, if that makes sense. I compromised on all this other stuff, I didn't want to compromise on that too.

Point being, I'm not sure it would be as burning a need to someone with an otherwise cush life. It is for some, I know, but maybe not for others.

I just felt like, because I feel like I haven't had X, Y, Z, I deserved a daughter, if that makes sense. I compromised on all this other stuff, I didn't want to compromise on that too.

Point being, I'm not sure it would be as burning a need to someone with an otherwise cush life. It is for some, I know, but maybe not for others.

I often feel similar Atomic! In that when I saw Kristin Cavallari have her girl after two boys (similarly aged to my own two so I kinda felt a sort of affinity with her as we had our kids at the same time if that makes sense lol) and while I was trying to convince DH to have another one she goes and gets pregnant and not only that but of course she has her girl. I try to be happy for people, regardless of status when they have an opposite but I have to say the green eyed monster does rear his ugly head in the back of mind when I'm thinking things like its not fair they have it all AND their daughter!

PS - Hurtiest is SO going into my dictionary lol. Love it!

Haha, I stumbled upon this thread because I am SO desperate for a boy -- sometimes I look at celebrity pairings like crazy (like seeing how Lily and Alfie Allen are only 15 months apart), but then I wonder... do these celebs potentially do HT for their kids? Do we assume they do if it's a PP, it's just random...? I feel like their money always has me unsure, lol, especially since many celeb moms are having kids older (Gwen Stefani in particular had trouble conceiving her third son, I know, and she was in her 40s when she did).

Also adding... Talia Shire has more than one famous son. ‎Robert Schwartzman a.k.a Robert Carmine of Rooney is another son of hers (he was the love interest in "The Princess Diaries.")

A LOT of them do HT. I've been told by someone in the know that "we'd all die if we knew how many had gone HT" (now obviously that's not a study or anything) but there are many we do know used HT, like Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker.
