View Full Version : OMG!!! Maybe???

So I did a cheap internet test this morning and got a BFN. I left it on the bathroom sink though and the kids were in and out of there (they do have their own but our bathroom is more appealing apparently!) and right had knocked in into the sink. I picked it up and thought maybe there was a very faint 2nd line, but it was an hour later and had been wet from the sink.

I tried to ignore the possibility but had to check again, and once again a BFN on the internet cheapie.

So I thought f#%k it....I have one FRER, I will try that... And look!!!!

I was going to mention twins too ;) I also got a super early positive with mine. I have heard of little ones having instincts like that before but most likely it is because he already has twin brothers that he would say such a thing.
Yours are identical right? If so your chances of twins shouldn't be higher than anyone elses. Imagine having fraternal ones though! How cool would that be having two different kinds of sets of twins

SamS_TTCPink
July 5th, 2014, 04:36 AM
Lol 1+2+3boys, I don't think my DH agrees that another set of twins would be fun!! 😉

Yep, ours are identical and we were told that our chances of having twins again were slightly higher (DS1 pregnancy was twins too but we lost one very early on in the pg) but I don't know??!?

We were actually thinking of swaying for a girl before we got pregnant with our twins and it's always been "a funny story" that we were thinking about it doing something to get one girl and then ended up with 2 boys. 😜

Thank you all so much! You have no idea what a thread full of congratulations means to me! 💜

With each and every one of our six boys, every time we've had to tell people, all we've ever received is negative, horrific cruel comments and criticism or at the best, stupid jokes. So to actually have someone to share this with and be happy for us, just means so much.

I know in "real life" when people start finding out in a few months or so, we are still going to have to deal with all the comments and criticisms and hate from our families, but at least for now I can enjoy the congratulations and smily faces from all of you!!!

Thank you so much xxx

Jamie86

I'm sorry for the negative responses MumofSix. I had only negative feedback when we conceived number 3 (including my MIL who said the family discussed it and I should have my tubes tied after number 3) so I'm already bracing myself for it this time as well. I think I'm going to wait until we know the gender to tell anyone. I'm hoping that will make it a little harder for some people to be so negative. Although I know we are still going to be getting negative comments.

Mum, I was worried what people would think of me having 4 and how people totally look at me funny when I'm out with the 3 boys and visibly pregnant! My husband is the type who doesn't care what people think and as this pregnancy progresses I'm starting to embrace that too and it feels awesome!! It's our life and our decision and I'm starting not to give 2 shits what others think!
It's probably a lot harder for you seeing its family but they sound like they are being jerks so just remember who the bigger person is here and that all these special boys (and maybe girl) are all special little humans that you were wonderful enough to bring into this world!!

Good lord Jamie!!! Your family needs a good talking to too, suggesting you get your tubes tied at a 3rd?!?! Wth???

Mum, I have one and people judge in here, especially family that only think at money. Can you imagine I had to buy a house for the unborn baby just to be assured he will have a good life?:)))
I cant even think at the second what they would say..especially if it's still a boy.
People judge A LOT! But dont panik!
I already thought how I will tell my family for the second...I will tell them when I will find out the gender.

It is weird how dark mine were, but yours are still very positive! 😀👍

I must say my dark tests are the only thing keeping me sane right now!! I'm so paranoid of another loss but just keep reminding myself of the dark tests!!! I've been having AF type cramping and every time I go to the loo, I'm sure I'll be bleeding. I'm not sick at all and my boobs were sore but aren't now, which scares me. It's so hard to be relaxed after a m/c! 😕

Yeah, I've been testing daily and kinda freaked my lines aren't darkening, but then I switched to internet cheapies so I'm hoping it's just how much less sensitive they are. Think I'll pick up another FRER today just to ease my mind. It's weird, the mix of happy and dread pregnancy after miscarriage brings. I catch myself trying not to be hopeful :(

1+2+3boys
July 9th, 2014, 05:27 PM
I felt the same after my MC when pregnant again. Paranoid at every niggle. It is most likely the uterus just adjusting and with those dark lines you must have high pregnancy hormones so it's most likely a keeper. Try to focus on that (easier said than done I know!)

unwirklich
July 9th, 2014, 08:48 PM
Hah, so yeah, definitely just my paranoia..took an FRER after 1 hour hold been guzzling water all day because I've been super dehydrated, line showed up nice and bright before the control line even and like twice as dark. Lesson to be learned here? Internet test strips are crap. SMU which is always darker for me this morning with a net strip was faintly positive and has been for like 4 days.

SamS_TTCPink
July 9th, 2014, 11:56 PM

lol Makes me feel better I'm not the only one foolishly continuing to test. I'm still temping too. Gonna be a long 2 months to the mostly-safe zone. I think I'll relax more if I see a heart beat though, so maybe some relief around 4 weeks from now. I think 8 weeks would be a safe bet to for sure see it.

SamS_TTCPink
July 10th, 2014, 08:12 PM
I've never temped but if I had I would still be too! Lol!! And yep, at 8 weeks you should a heartbeat. 💜

I just wish I would have some symptoms! I did have sore boobs but I don't now and nothing else!!! I've also had cramping but praying it's just "normal". Still waiting to see blood every time I go to the loo. Wish this first 12 weeks would hurry up! I know it's still no guarantee after then, but I could relax a little I think. 😕

Congrats Unwirklich. What a gorgeous profile pic. Hopefully you can have a wee girl snuggled in there too in 9 months time.

I used to always think there would be blood too everytime I went to the loo but there never was. Someone I knew called it Panty Patrol. That made me laugh a bit

SamS_TTCPink
July 11th, 2014, 03:08 AM
The twins are Joshua & Zachary. 😊

I don't mind you asking at all odd - wish I had an easy answer or "magic bullet" that got me 6 boys but I don't really...

With DS1, I was young. Was smoking & drinking occasionally. Lots of BD as we were young and full of energy! Lol!!! Was vegetarian and played netball & very tiny (Aus size 6 even the day before birth!).

DS2- was working full time, no exercise, wasn't vegetarian but pretty healthy diet. BD once but wasn't keeping track (did say let's BD I want a baby tonight!)

Twins- was working as a PT & group fitness instructor so constant exercise both weights and classes. Very healthy diet. We're thinking about swaying the Sheetles way so was cutting down caffeine and making small changes but got PG quicker than expected.

DS5- still working as a PT. Weekend drinks, frequent BD.

DS6- working as a PT but not taking classes so reduced exercise, working at several
Gyms though so really busy, stressed due to family/parent issues. Frequent BD. Really healthy diet but was dieting, so low cals.

So I guess, the frequent BD (except for DS2) and healthier diet was a factor?? Exercise was different with them all, was vege with DS1?? I do have a more "boy type" personality though. I wear the pants in our family and I'm not at all a girly girl!! Lol!!

Will have to post my sway for this pg but scared too as after I did last time I had a m/c and do to want to "jinx" it again. 😕

Hi mum, u can have the test done in Oz. The one I had done can be done at 9 weeks, I actually think a GP can also do a referral to a pathology place, but my obstetrician referred me. I waited til 12 weeks to have it (apparently it gets more accurate the further along you are). You might have to ring a few path places/labs in your area to see if they have the kits then they can tell you who to get a referral from. I think you have to be at least 35 when bub is delivered or be classified as high risk, otherwise u pay all of it out of pocket and it can be expensive. That's what I understand xo

I paid £650 for the harmony test, it's only been available in the uk for a couple of years. I got it done at 12+5 once my NHS scan showed baby growing well. I'll Be 39 when bubs arrives. I got it for peace of mind health wise. It checks for trisomies and some other things too, as well as gender x

Uau. Pretty expansve in UK.
My friend payed for it 1000€ for it in January and now I asked my clinic. They said 700€. With much more they appear on the market, the least expansive will be.

Aoii, this is the blood test that can be made at 7-8 weeks of pregnancy and it will tell you about any risk anomaly of the baby and also the gender of the baby.
The gender is 100%. All the other tests are 99% accurant.

Mum, you will have a girl. I believe in that :-)
