View Full Version : Is it all in the EWCM?

Hi ladies,

I was wondering if EWCM actually is a real indicator of what will come with pregnancies.

Will it be as simple as if you have a lot of EWCM at time of conception, you will most probably have a boy? And if you have minimal / or very little dense quality EWCM, you will most probably have a girl?

I know you cannot predict sex, honestly I do, but I just came from a midwife meeting and I started feeling down again at the sex of my baby to come and wished they made a mistake at the scan and I started analysing things again. I have a girl and I so wished this one was another girl so my little one can have the sister I never had :( If only, I could try for a third and have that chance... So here I am analyzing as to what I could have changed if I TTC again...

I wanted to see how deciding EWCM is in helping with sway predictions and what we can "control"...

I doubt it. I do think it plays a part but I think it HAS to be more than that or it would be glaringly obvious and some scientist would already have figured it out if it was that simple.. We are seeing opposites with blue sways where people are doing everything possible to increase CM and then opposites with pink sways where people have little to no CM (and I myself got a boy with no visible CM, checking my pH 2-3 times a day and not even realizing I ovulated because there was nothing there.)

The fact is that you have to have SOME EWCM to get pregnant with a baby, boy or girl. THE sperm cannot survive without it, X or Y. Might there be something in EWCM, either quality or amount that sways, of course. But it just can't all come down to that.

Thank you Atomic! I was hoping I can hold on to something to give me hope before TTC, my Martha side I guess ;-)

Sorry this maybe a little gross to ask but what is considered a lot or minimal EWMC?

Well I think a lot is when you feel like you have to change your underwear because globs and globs of the stuff is coming out (not speaking from personal experience or anything ;D) and minimal would be when you barely notice it. Although maybe Atomic can give a more technical answer LOL

You need to base that off what was hapening for YOU individually when you conceived your kids.

FWIW I got my girl with some EWCM.

I get almost none, imo, & I have 4 boys. So, yeah it's definitely not that. Or at least not that alone.

I'm not a strong believer in the type of cm making a difference, good really because nothing is drying me up, clomid and antihistamines combined ( sorry tmi) reason for why I believe this is because I had no cm at any point in my cycle when ttc number 3, but I'm just one person and definitely not your example of a textbook person lol

YOu need some EWCM to get a baby, boy or girl. Don't overthink this. I had EWCM when I got my girl and none the month I got my 4th boy.
