hi! i came across this site a few weeks ago and in putting together my sway plan, i have a ton of questions. we have 2 boys (ages 3 and 1) and would love to add a girl (or two... but it took some convincing my husband to have 3 kids as it is, so not sure how the negotiations for 4 would go!).

in reading through everything for pink vs. blue, i can see that i was eating a TOTAL boy diet!!! tons of fresh meat and veggies fresh straight from the farmer, eggs all the time, butter/coconut oil and i was drinking whole raw milk from our farmer before conceiving the boys. i also snack all the time. my weight has always hovered around 120 or under, so i'm not heavy by any means, but still- i don't think i had felt an actual hunger pain since the late 1990's. ;) just grazing all day long. also took many supplements- a B vit complex, tons of vit D, cod liver oil, butter oil (a weston price diet thing), etc. i bought into the shettles method and made a halfhearted attempt at it with both boys, so you can see how effective that was! i have been able to get pregnant super easily- on the first attempt- but had 2 chemical pregnancies in the months prior to conceiving my older son.

i have lots of things in place and hoping to try next month (i have about 4 weeks til i ov again). have been on the LE diet about 3 weeks- it is HARD for me to not snack!!! but trying. not exercising at all- i was doing some light exercise several days a week prior to this. there is absolutely no way i could get myself to do an hour of cardio ever, much less multiple times a week. i have been taking fiber and folate and trying to stay out of the sun (usually living in the sun all summer long... vit D). totally dropped red meat and only taking little bites here and there of the chicken or occasional pork i'm still cooking for my family. husband is off red meat for now as well, much to his dismay! honestly just from dropping all of the super healthy foods i am used to eating ("superfoods" were our regular foods!!) i am hoping that the switch is already enough of a "decline" in maternal health and now i'm jut really trying to keep my grazing to a minimum. i have been able to put off eating in the mornings until sometime between 11am-1pm. drinking some peppermint tea- it is actually a mint blend with some lemongrass- but am still nursing my 16 month old so not doing too much of the tea. i have already noticed a marked decrease in EWCM or any CM for that matter, and i bought pH strips and am consistently below 5.0. i also bought rephresh, but not sure i'll need it. planning on husband doing LR, OLE, FR and i have a question about the day we attempt (planning one attempt)- does he do his usual scheduled FR and then ALSO dump one more batch right before our attempt? think i'll skip the rephresh and just add a j&d. ??

-i have some questions about diet- is wine ok? i saw that alcohol is ok, but then i saw somewhere that grape is not. hmmm.
-hoping grapefruit lacroix carbonated water is ok. ?
-why are we taking the skins off of things? just for nutritional content? i have been eating a ton of spiralized yellow squash (zucchini) because it is abundant in our garden right now and no one else is eating much of it!
-should LR and OLE sort of cancel each other out in terms of blood pressure? just a though... not that it makes much difference for my sway ;)

i think my biggest worry is my stress level- totally the "dominant" female in my house of boys and i tend to spring right into action at every little spill or cry. trying so hard to settle down so i don't ruin the sway!!

hope it is ok that i just dumped all of this info here! not really sure where everything is all supposed to go so figured i would just make my grand entrance. thank you for this site and all of the help i have already received so far just from snooping!!!! :)

I cannot answer a lot of your questions, but it may be helpful to post this in the Trying to conceive a girl section as well for more replies :) Good Luck!!

Skins have nutrients so that's why we take them off.
Exercise is getting great results and I an actually loving it!
FR doesn't sway nearly as much as we once thought and it's quite stressful so feel free to drop if need be. No need to release the day of attempt.
Wine us great for a girl sway! Just no grape juice-full of nutrients.
Welcome and good luck!!

I have read on this site that if you are going to drink wine, to drink white and skip reds since it has more nutrients

I don't really like either, but if it sways, I can choke down a glass or two

Vodka is probably the least nutritious alcohol. I like to mix it with diet coke!

I'm sure plenty of ladies had girls while drinking red wine so I'm not swooping to white for my sway

yeah, i definitely won't be able to stick to the exercise so figure i would probably hurt my sway if i only did it halfway! i could *maybe* force myself to do it for the next month, but even then i am sure if i didn't get pregnant i would just totally drop that right away. and who knows if that would help or hurt the next month. i think i might lose too much weight if i exercise that much, besides... plus i have actually already noticed quite a bit of loss of muscle tone- sad that it went so quickly! so hopefully it will still be a good sway. ack!

i could probably manage to drink up on some white wine... but i better finish the red i have open first - wouldn't want it to go to waste. :)

It's thought to sway because it's unhealthy and declines fertility. Also it's an empty source of calories for the LE diet with no nutritional value.

Hi and welcome.

Lots of us boy moms are petite but big eaters.

:agree: limiting the pep tea. I never have breastfeeders use it, no more than 1 cup every other day.

If DH is doing straight FR he shoudl NOT release before attempt. only one release for attempt with straight FR. People tried it the other way but few got pregnant.

RepHresh has gotten pitiful results and appears to be doing nothing other than lowering odds of conception. I'm fine with people including it or leaving it in, the numbers seem to indicate it isn't helping at all.

Some people like to stick with as many old school sway tactics as possible, and that means no grape stuff. There are also more nutrients in dark colored fruits and veg. When you can, all things being equal, pick the lower nutrient food (so white wine instead of red, light beer instead of Guiness, that type of thing) tons of people have drunk red wine with their sways, though.

The "taking skins off" was just an idea and subsequently I decided it probably matters little to not at all.

:agree: spiral zucchini great for pink sway

grapefruit lacroix is fine

Please do not trade the normal stresses of day to day life that we all experience for a misguided attempt to "settle down". Just live your life, don't try to change yourself (it won't work) . The point of the Maternal Dominance stuff is NOT to have you guys all worked up in a cold sweat over every time you experience a bit of stress. I just want people to avoid taking on new projects, competition, that sort of thing. I never ever intended anyone to start "trying to relax" because that IS a project in and of itself! http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gender-swaying-general-discussion/33517-maternal-dominance-hypothesis-priviledged-daughter-hypothesis.html

thank you so much for your reply! the info about normal stress was very helpful/encouraging... i just tend to be someone who tenses up right away about things and then i am able to recover/move on pretty quickly, but then i started to worry that maybe *that* was what was giving me all boys, etc. but really, i think that- considering that i have no shortage of mental lists of things i would like to eat- it's probably more likely that my diet and all the vitamin supplements i have always taken was probably a bigger factor, or so i hope. this new diet is so hard for me! very effective in the weight loss dept, but i just want to go peel a stick of butter like a banana and eat it. possibly on a steak. covered in a pile of cookies. etc. :)

How about a stick of margarine on a rice cake instead?? ;)

haha... definitely just going to have a very delicious pregnancy! now, watch- i'll be so nauseus i won't even be able to eat ;)

LOVED the martha/mary article, and thank you for posting. total eye-opener!! i can see my martha-ness so clearly- but honestly i think having a house of boys has sort of made me have a bit of an "eh, whatever" mary attitude now too- and i'm sure my guys are all thanking their lucky stars for that!

I thought red wine increased acid.
I'll have to swap to white then. Sweet or dry?

Honestly, I doubt it matters a whole ton. IF you like red better, drink red. IT's just that some people like to feel like they have dotted every i and crossed every T possible. :)

I should update- got pregnant the first month we tried, which I guess means maybe I didn't supress fertility quite enough but either way, it's in there now and I feel like in the end I ended up throwing everything into the sway so I guess if it didn't work, I can at least feel like I tried everything! Thank you everyone for the comments and support- this was an amazing site to have found when I did :)
