This is my last chance for ttc.. my hubby deploys and this is our last cycle (so glad I got one last chance). We BDed 2 days ago, trying for the 3 days before ovulation, but I'm worried I won't ovulate in time and all his guys will be long gone. Should I just cross my fingers and hope I actually ovulate tomorrow? I also got a big temp drop this morning, so I'm leaning towards no more sex. Help please! TIA! :fx:

Hey seebea! So glad u got to attempt b4 ur dh deploys. Honestly if I was u I would attempt again, just because u would have to wait so long if u dont catch the egg this month. Good luck!!! I really hope u get ur bfp !

Deployment looming is tough! But Timing doesn't sway!! You don't need a 3 day cut off, it's so hard to time o anyway and you get all stressed when it doesn't happen according to plan. This is why atomic suggests one attempt at +OPK, takes the blue swaying stress out of this. I'd switch to the every 4 day method. That way you get one attempt no matter when you o. One attempt is getting great results regardless of timing. If your DH is deploying and you really want to get pg I would do another attempt, maybe bd every 3 days to be sure you catch the egg

I plan on doing every 4 days until my hubby leaves....if I were you I would probably try once more before he leaves (if he is leaving soon). Good luck!

Also, one attempt vs 2 doesn't hurt your odds of pink that much. If my DH was deploying I wouldn't stress about having 2 attempts in the fertile window and would go ahead and have a second attempt as far apart from the first as you can manage, even if it's still in the four day window since your last attempt.

Thanks ladies! DH will be working all night, but said he has time for a quicky ;) fx I get a BFP this time! Hopefully the stress of him leaving doesn't destroy my sway!

Well, I would never have advised going for a cutoff in this situation but here we are.
If pregnancy is more important than TTC a girl, have another attempt. (it may be too late now anyway) If a girl is more important and you're ok with waiting then stick with one attempt.

Stress does not sway blue.

Only reason I was striving for the cut off is because both my boys were made by FR. I'm just trying to do everything opposite of my boys. If I don't get my BFP, we will just start the process all over again when he gets back. I'd rather up my odds of having a girl than just fall pregnant. This is my last baby, so I mine as well give it my all. Thanks for all the replies!

Doing the opposite only works when what you were doing to start out with was the reason why you got boys. Which, in the case of timing, it's been so debunked that I can say with 100% confidence that it wasn't. :)
Just want you to be in with some chance of conception and 3 day cutoff is not going to give you real good chances.

What's your opinion on using spermicide? Can you BD all thru O if you're using it (only about 1/3 of the suppositories)? It's hard to find much information about it online.

People weren't getting pregnant on it. Hardly anyone has tried it. It was an idea that I honestly can't even say if it panned out or not, it just hasn't worked out that I can even see the gender of anyone's kiddos on it.
I think it is a huge, major, gargantuan step in the wrong direction to use a bunch of sway tactics that cut odds of conception just so you can BD thru O. You aren't getting yourself anything whatsoever. YOu are reducing odds of conception no matter how you slice it, and so in that case I think it is a mistake to drop one attempt which has gotten great results (and you absolutely can get pg with one attempt as long as you aren't doing 700 other things to sway) in favor of something that is totally unproven.
