View Full Version : Priorities for Swaying

I have asked Atomic about this in my private consulting forum, but I was wondering what other people's opinions are on the priorities of swaying tactics. In the beginning, I'm sure a lot of women go with the "kitchen sink" approach to sway, if they get preggo, great! But as the months go on with BFNs, I imagine that most women will consider dropping various parts of their sway to get pregnant.
So, in order of priority, with #1 being the most important part of your sway, and the absolute last thing you would drop from your sway, and the highest number, whatever that is (depends on how many sway tactics you are doing), what is your list of sway priorities.
I'm sure there is no right or wrong answer to this question, just curious what the collective opinion is.

#1 - somewhat strict vegetarian LE diet (although I will say I do allow myself 2-4 ounces of chicken or seafood once a week, "forbidden foods" like tomatoes, garlic, bananas, red wine, etc all the time, I eat more like 1500-1800 calories per day, etc.. am I really doing "strict" LE?)
#2 - exercise . I'm extremely commited to doing this 60 minutes a day , 7 days a week unless I get injured.
#3 - 1 attempt (either at +OPK or doing the every 4 days method.. already switched to the every 4 days method this month)
That's pretty much all I'm doing anyways and I'm pretty commited to keeping up those 3 tactics for up to a year if need be!

Of course with any sway charting of O,AF, BBT is pretty much required especially if you are doing cutoffs. I use the Ovuview app I :awe: it!
1. Diet. I've read the actual medical studies so that has been my main focus and your diet alters so many things including your PH.
2.exercise and not just for sway. Healthy body is a healthy pregnancy
3. Since I have health problems supplements are bit more up there for me
4. One attempt with cutoff
5.Everything else
Im a kitchen sinker since this will be our last child so I REALLLLYYYY want our girl even if it takes a bit longer doing it the kitchen sink way!

I'm not swaying yet but my plan is not to drop diet (+ fiber and folate), exercise or one attempt (probably every 4 days style). They will all be staying regardless if I get pregnant or not.
I will drop jellies, antihistamines, or any other supps if I decide to do them.

#1 Diet & one attempt (@ +opk or 3-4days cut off) - both equally impt to me
#2 Supplements (antihistamines)
#3 repHresh

I am working on my next book that addresses this but just quickly what I believe to be the heavy hitters:
Diet + fiber with NO probiotics
exercise for both DW and DH (biking/jogging)
One attempt
LR and smoking for DH
Clomid or Femara
The rest is window dressing and if I had my way everyone would drop the rest

you know I've been meaning to ask about the smoking thing.. Is it because of a fertility reduction to DH?

1. Diet (I've done really well with the diet and can manage this long term)
2. Supplements-- fiber, peppermint tea, and cinnamon for me. Licorice root and olive leaf extract for DH
3. Alcohol and caffeine-- I never drank either before having my boys
4. One attempt
5. Exercise (this is the absolute hardest thing for me. I HATE exercising, but want to include it cause the stats are good)
Next on my list to drop/decrease are the peppermint tea and/or licorice root. I really like drinking the peppermint tea though since it helped my super heavy periods to get lighter and shorter. But I may limit it to just during AF. And DH is taking 2 LR capsules a day and I may decrease that to 1 capsule if no BFP this month or next. I'm in no rush though as I really want a girl and not just get pregnant.
I've already dropped Rephresh and Zytec, but DH takes Claritin D daily and I'm wondering if that plays a role in semen quality/production (making it more sticky/clumpy?)

Diet, exercise and 1 attempt for sure. Everything else is secondary.

Diet (I do a loose le diet anyway)
Stress relieving techniques (Alcohol and Lavender oil and painting my nails, all the ways I stop my Martha-ness from coming out hence the loose le diet, limiting my use of genderdreaming.com if I don't I become obsessive and want to add everything that I can)
Supplements- peppermint tea, folic acid and aspirin (when I remember), benadryl
Ph balancing - rephresh, 4oz of organic cranberry juice every other day
Timing we don't really have a timing schedule because a when you are secretly swaying its hard lol, and I realized after every 3 days dh gets irritated so I have been doing every three days instead of 4.
Exercising isn't going to happen for me and neither is timing it every 4 days. I go on walks when I can for about an hour but there is no set amount of days.
I will continue this way, if I don't get a bfp by the end of Sept I will start dropping stuff from my sway.
SN: Yes I know that this is by no means a typical genderdreaming sway but it's what I feel is best for me. Also yes, I am killing it with the ph, I'll drop rephresh (after this month if I don't get a bfp)

1. Diet (vegetarian, reduced cals, no snacking, low fat, low protein)
2. One attempt
I think these are 90% of swaying for most people.
3. Vitex & clomid
4. Daily cardio
Both can definitely help IMO but are not essential for most.

No one knows, but studies have found a correlation there, esp. for DH (and of course it's a kajillion times safer because he will not be pg)
I can say based on the questionnaires I receive for my Custom Sway plans, there are disproportionately more blue sway plans with the husbands smoking. This past month I got 6 blue sway plans and 50% the husbands were smokers. I got 12 or 13 pink sway plans and none of them had husbands that smoked. This has been the trend since I started doing the plans. Between 30-50% of the blue custom plans I get have the husband smoking, whereas barely any pink sway plan people have.

Claritin D can make for thicker semen, but it he needs it, he needs it.
Re peppermint tea, the effects should last a while after stopping it. I had the same thing happen to me with vitex, and it continued even the month after I stopped. I don't think drinking it at AF will help anything, the reason the period is lighter is because there's less of a lining built up due to lower estrogen and that has alreay happened by the time AF shows. :)

#1- Diet
#2- exercise
#3- changing my hobbies to be less competitive.
I've had two "failed sways" and I really think the main reason they failed was because I was obsessive and competitive. So I plan on changing my hobbies to be more obsession and competition free.

Kitty - interesting take on it. What hobbies were you doing before and what hobbies do you plan to take up to help your sway? Were your sweet boys IG style sways or GD style sways?

I guess they may not seem like hobbies, but I spent far too much time on Facebook. I also have a binder that includes every aspect of my life (budgets, meal plans, cleaning lists) and I would spend HOURS trying to come up with a new budget where I would save even a few cents (competition with myself). I also researched constantly, which had a huge effect on my constant obsessing.
Baby #2 was a failed IG sway. I had found this sight AFTER I was pregnant.
Baby #3 was a GD sway focusing primarily on diet and timing.
This time I'm going to replace my usual facebooking, researching, and budgeting with reading and tv shows. I also noticed the girl moms where I live tend to be clean freaks, so I'm going to try to use cleaning as a way to keep my mind busy. If I notice I'm getting too obsessed with it or making it into a competition with myself ("can I clean this area faster or better than I did yesterday) then I'll replace it with something else.

Oh wow kitty. Other than for swaying purposes, I really wish I had your type of personality and time mgmt skills. I am such a laidback person by nature and only live day to day..moment to moment even, so planning even a bit stresses me out. My husband on the other hand is complete opposite. He schedules his time to the minute. Being around me however, he's learned to relax and enjoy a bit.

kitty - that's awesome, I wish I was so organized and enjoyed budgeting! I got rid of facebook when I started swaying and I can't say I miss it. I did give up this site for awhile during my last cycle, but I've found this cycle I don't care about getting pregnant or swaying at all so I'm getting on here to help with my apathy problem.

I had an uncle who was a chain smoker he had 5 boys no daughter. it was a big drama, at the end they got divorced. she did not look like a boy nom at all neither was her life style... my husband started smoking before DS3, he upped his intake now after I showed him this info... hope it will make a difference...

I have to say i noticed the opposite. Boy moms keep their houses clean and are competitive about who is the bettet mother wife etc... all only girl moms I knwo are super lazy :-) and their place is by far dirtier then mine... nobody please feels affended, just what I noticed around me...

This has been so interesting to read!!
1) Diet (skipping breakfast, no snacking, LE (although I do go over sometimes and I do occasionally eat fish)
2) Exercise
3) Staying relaxed about everything and not obsessing like normal - no charting, limited online time, etc
4) 1 attempt This will be hard because I am having a hard enough time trying to convince my DH to TTC and I don't want to tell him about swaying if I can finally get him to come around. I'm going to attempt every 4 days and hope it works out.

For me:
1) Diet - just started today
2) Supps
3) Timing (1 attempt at pos opk)
4) Rephresh and Aci-jel
5) trying to remain as non controlling/freakout as possible!
