Hi! I have been religiously following the In Gender plan to ttc girl... And I stumbled on this sight today. I am waiting for a positive opk and should be doing the deed within days. What are the major differences between this plan/advice and in gender? Atomic sounds more creditable..! So now I am getting nervous! In a nutshell:
I have been eating a lot of calcium (2% milk and yogurt - too much fat?)'
drinking crystal light like crazy,
strawberries & raspberries (no other fruit),
green beans, cucumber (very little other veg)
rice cakes with almond butter,
raw almonds,
small amounts of lean protein and fish,
no red meat,
cranberry concentrate,
limiting sugar, one cup coffee per day,
Replens "finger" every second day,
all supplements listed on IG (both dh and I),
moderate exercise.
Was planning lime douche and lime tampon.
Ph hasn't gone below 5.3
I am slender and have not lost any weight with this diet. (I didn't eat much prior to ttc though... - always kept my weight in check). Not a good sign?
I was planning o+12. Apparently Ph is lowest at this stage in fertility window and Kessler likely to spike unknowingly.
My husband has abstained for 12 days! Poor guy!
What is the advice to help my chances for a girl in these final days? I really appreciate any insight. Thanks so much ladies. :)
P.S. I have 2 wonderful boys. I am 39. (Last baby indeed)

There are some big differences between here and IG. What I would drop is the calcium...it sways boy especially in large amounts. Supplements sway boys, so I would limit it to just folic acid. I would not do the lime douche or tampon. We have gotten the best results with only one attempt at +opk! as we believe frequency sways, not timing. This is just everything in a nutshell!

Thanks for the reply! Looks like I am doing everything wrong. Wonder if I should not try this cycle. Stressful! (Which is also not good :) )
Can I ask, why not the lime douche? Too acidic?

Sorry to be so high maintenance, but is there anything I can do to my diet in the next 24-48 hours that can help sway girl? My worst diet offender (nutrient rich wise) would be calcium (milk, yogurt, supplements) and 'fat '. (2% for milk products) over the last number of weeks. Cranberry ok, yes?

Honestly anything you do in the next 24 hours doesn't really matter diet or exercise-wise. However, making sure you only have one attempt is getting great results and a good tactic to stick with. I'd drop the supplements but for this month's attempt they probably don't matter at all either way.

Cranberry isnt good either hun, its highly nutritious and more likely to sway boy.

I think Cranberry is a wean off gradually supplement (hopefully someone else can confirm or deny on that) so if your attempt is in the next couple days, there's no point in worrying about it.
You could start lowering the amount a bit, but that's about all

If it were me, I would stop TTC this month and maybe next if timing isn't a factor and really buckle down on the LE diet. Only because this is your last attempt at getting your girl. (after 3 boys, it is mine as well) I would drop all the milk and boy type supplements...also, not sure about all the almonds/butter, but I would imagine in higher amounts you would exceed your fat intake quickly. I wouldn't do cranberry, for myself. I just take folic acid, saw palmetto and vitex with a baby asprin every 3 days. Everyone is different of course :) GOOD, GOOD LUCK to you!

Thanks for the comments everyone! We did the deed last night. Atomic rightfully suggested that my dh clear his pipes immediately, so we thought.. What the heck! Probably didn't achieve much because opk is still not positive. I was taking Lydia Pinkham too and this has seriously delayed O I think. I was suppose to O Sunday. Ph is still low and I am watching it, just in case O happens sometime soon. Keep everyone posted.

Don't take Lydia Pinkham. I was going to when I came from IG but it's supposed to make the chances of miscarriage higher. I would definitely drop that immediately.

I did of course reply in your other thread but to answer this q, it's because sperm, both X and Y, are made to thrive in pH in the 7's and anything below pH of 6 kills ALL sperm - both X and Y alike. There is NO evidence whatsoever that X and Y sperm "freeze" in low pH. It's all made up. IF it worked, reproductive endocrinologists would already be using it for a cheaper way to sway gender - they'd just dump some low pH in with the sperm if someone wanted a girl. They don't do it because it doesn't work. :)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA no Lydia Pinkham!! There is stuff in that that sways blue, stuff that may cause/contribute to miscarriage, and some stuff that is actually dangerous to your health.
I can all but guarantee Lydia is causing or contributing to delayed ovulation (which is also why your pH seems low - because pH doesn't rise till ovuation is nigh). Stop taking it right away because you may not O at all if you don't.

Also re baby aspirin, due to a recent study that found a higher risk of heart attacks for 1/4 of women taking aspirin, I am not recommending anyone else start it for now. IF you're already on it, continue, if not, leave it out.
