View Full Version : Supps and more supps... what to do?

Okay, I went and bought everything on the list (except false unicorn--couldn't find it), but now I am wondering if I should take it all. I have been reading threads that suggest I should be testing how each supplement causes my body to react, and then make a decision. Well, I do not have that much time. This goes to show you what an unprepared moron I am :sigh: .... here I am, 3 months before my attempt... I should have been doing this months ago! SO. I guess what I am asking is, should I just take everything anyway, or should I still test a few things out? Are there some supps that boy swayers should take regardless?
ALSO! Are there any supps on the list that should NOT be taken together? Or is everything safe to combine? And what about the DH supps--any of those bad to take together?

I'm taking folic acid, vitamin E, fish oil, potassium, fertile CM, zinc, guaifenesin. I've been taking them together and haven't had any issues. I could not take the false unicorn because it gave me nausea and headaches.
I've been doing the diet and supps for 6 weeks or so.

Thank you! I was going to take all of that PLUS gelatin, EPO, Bee Pollen and possibly a prenatal, as long as I could find a low calcium one (haven't yet).

Hey Hobbs, I think it is ok to go for it and take them all. LOL you are not an unprepared moron! If you wanted, you could do some of the "everyone takes them" supps and then add in the other ones. I am the kind to just throw them all in the pile and take them all! I don't think there are any that you can't take together though. I take even more than you do, mostly more antioxidants though.

Thanks Lola! I guess I am a little worried about the gelatin... I bought capsules because the idea of eating jell-o grosses me out (a texture issue for me), but now I am reading that a lot of people found the gelatin to dry them up or delay O. I just wish I had tried it a few months ago to see how it effected me, so I could take/not take it with worrying that it may have some effects that I don't want, and I only have 2 months to experiment and figure it out.
Does anyone know if the gelatin in capsule form is any different than eating actual jello?

Hmmm, I don't know....maybe you could take the gelatin and see how it affects your cm/T level? If you get dried out, you could drop it month 2 and see if you cm comes back....if no change, just take it I guess. Or certainly take it if a good change!

i boughtthe gelatin capsules bc i ran out o fthe powder. my dh did the math and found that the 1 tablespoon of gelatin i was taking with the pwder was no where NEAR the amount of gelatin in teh capsule. totake the same amount of 3tablspns a day of gelatin id have to take 30 gelatin capsules. i returned it! on the other hand, perhaps the little amount in the capsules maybe the RIGHT amount for YOU! by the way you dont have to make jell-o from thegelatin, if you drop a tablespoon in some juice or water right away, itll be fast!
id try the gelatin ahead of time. what i did was take the max anmount of supps id take during my actual attempt (l-arg every other day, gelatin 3x/day) to see and then i thought id wean from there (i.e. gelatin 1x/day). you still have time!!! if you see any sign of drying up of CM, stop it right away. that way you may not bne delayed as long. also with me when i first took l-arg, i actually O'd early, buti started the l-arg later in the cycle and more spaced out...so every cycle may be diff. id say just use the supps sparingly if youre not sure.
sorry its hard to answer!!! im still not sure for myself either, whether to just stop or just take a little

A lot of people just jump right into swaying and taking the supps and have great results. The only one I'm wary of is the l-arg for right now but some people have had good luck with it...you CAN give it to DH instead if you're nervous about it.
The gelatin in the capsules is just fine but Gizmo makes a really good point.
I conceived 4 boys and I hardly ever eat Jello...only when Grandma corners me at Christmas dinner LOL.

I have been taking the Fertile CM, which I guess has the L-arg in it? But not talking L-arg on its own. DH is, though. This is the first cycle I am doing it and so far it is working. I guess I will see how it goes... I should O in a few days, if things aren't knocked out of wack by supps.

I had GREAT success at increasing ewcm with EPO, flaxseed oil, and Robitussin. Very, very noticeable difference.
I'm another who had to drop L'Arg. It didn't seem to be doing much for me and it delayed my O by almost a week. Being the Miss Impatient that I am, that was just not cool.

Glad the FCM is working for you, Hobbs! I give DH 1000mg of LArg also. GL!!!!! So have FX for you!
Atomic, LMAO about grandma and the jello!

Okay.... so has anyone taken the Fertilc CM and EPO togther? I have another thread where I asked if you could, and aparently you can, but no one seems to have done it? I am wondering what happens. Extra CM???

You can take them together but since Fertile CM is so expensive, if EPO works for you, don't worry about taking both.
The advantage that I can see is that taking both may help overcome the dryness that the L-arg (it's in Fertile CM) seems to be causing. So you could get the benefits of the T raising from the l-arg without the potential for lowering estrogen and drying up CM that some people seem to be experiencing.

I am doing pretty well with the fertile CM, but I bought the EPO already, so I guess I will take them together next cycle and see what happens. Thanks!

If you have half a sec and think of it, could you update us? It would be nice to know if Fertile CM + EPO counteracts the issues people are having with dryness.
