So, I've been MIA for awhile. I delivered my son 10/7/14 at 30w2d weighing 3 lb 9 oz and 16 in. He's still in the NICU. He's doing reasonably well but has high blood pressure and horrible acid reflux. He's working on eating and gaining weight, but stable and progressing for the most part, although had apnea and bradycardia spells sometimes after feedings because of his reflux. He did end up having some defects with his heart afterall (subclavian artery in a different place than normal and a bicuspid valve), but they said they were minor and not expected to be a problem.

I'm with all the other mama's..how exciting to have him here but so super scary to be born so early. Was there any particular reason you went into labor so soon? Please keep us posted and post pics and a name when you can. I'm sure he'll be going home shortly!

Oh wow congrats Bunnygirl How exciting your little man is here My friend's baby was born at 30 weeks and he is flying it now Probably bigger than his older brother!! I hope all is well and he is able to go home with you as soon as he can x
Sorry I've been missing so much For some reason the last few weeks have been hectic We're doing some jobs to the house before Christmas and the painter has been in the last week so it's hard to sit down and relax when everyone else is working hard! It does feel great to do a proper clean out though and I think I might have some room for our new little one soon!!! Hopefully!!!
Sounds like everyone is doing well and I can't believe how quickly the time is flying!!!
Who is our next little baby due? Has everyone got their hospital bags packed yet?????

I am due December 20th..original scan was 3 days earlier than my timeline and I was 5 days early with my daughter so am hoping hoping for Dec. 10th or even a few days earlier!

Yahmama
November 17th, 2014, 09:46 PM
wow! congrats on your son, bunny! glad he's doing ok for being born so early!
I had a scare last week where I thought i was going into labor but it turns out it was just from a long road trip (6 hrs straight) being too much. Dr gave me an rx to stop the contractions if it happens again. still having a lot of pressure but nothing scary like that day. 7 weeks to go, so little guy needs to stay put a few weeks longer!
Cant wait for all the Dec babies to start coming!

lala22

Oh Yahmama you must have gotten some fright You poor thing I hope he stays put a while longer We all want early babies but not that early!!!
Oncue I am counting down to the day like you!! I'm due on 15 Jan according to scan I ordered a new maxi cosi car seat cover on Amazon today because after three babies in it already it's pretty wrecked!
Lala here's hoping for 10th dec for you Just around the corner so hope you're bag is at the front door!!

22208222092221022211We named him Thatcher Chase. We aren't really sure why he came so early, although normal for me is 35-36 weeks with my clotting disorder. I had a small placental abruption at 19 weeks so that may have contributed, although my doctor says no. He blames it on extreme stress (in-law problems). When he was born we also found out his umbilical cord was extremely short, so short they couldn't place him on me, not even on my pelvis. He wouldn't reach. If he was born a few weeks later there could have been some major issues from it such as the cord breaking. My labor happened so fast this time too. I went upstairs at midnight to watch TV in bed and shortly after my contractions started. They didn't let up with drinking or changing position so I had my husband take me in under the assumption I'd get meds and go home. When I got there I was already 4.5 cm, past the point of stopping labor. I delivered him at 3:24 am, so just over 3 hours of labor. Big shock! He's now 6 weeks old today.

Pictures at birth and now 6 weeks.

Abi, u and Micah both look gorgeous!
I also had an ultrasound today, but bub was hiding so no good pics. He's measuring on schedule and is looking good. I was told I need to try gain more weight and try sleep more as my amniotic fluid is on the low side. I actually lost 300gm in the last 4 weeks too which I didn't expect 😔 the doc said it's no cause for concern at the moment but he wants to see my amniotic fluid and weight increase in 2 weeks. I had my glucose test today too which as always is unpleasant! Yuk!
I've started christmas shopping today and was going to make my own advent calender, but I just don't have time so i think I'll have to find a nice one somewhere.
Hope everyone is well xo

Wow, congrats to Bunny on her adorable little guy! What a cutie!!

And the rest of your bubs looks pretty cute too in all that amniotic fluid :-) We likely won't have any more ultrasounds, but I may change my mind on that...we shall see. We don't have a single good picture of him from the ones we have gotten, so I'm tempted, but at the same time, not sure it's worth the money when there are so many other things to spend it on these days!

Can't wait to start seeing more of the little ones outside everyone's tummy's soon though!! We have just over 13 weeks left, but hoping he'll make a slightly earlier appearance like his sister :-) We shall see! We have a lot of family coming in town for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so the next month should fly by, which is nice. We're actually hosting Christmas morning at our place, which is pretty cool. I love the holidays!

I was 4 days late with my second and it was like hell for me! I told my midwife this time I want natural induction things at 38 weeks! Lol.

Off topic but I was in a store the other day and a random woman asked me how many weeks I had left. I said 3 months! She said " oh my you look big!". Like can someone please tell me on what planet it's acceptable to tell a person they look "big". Lol. People think they can comment on pregnancy and it's just not right.
Funny thing is.. ten min later another woman asked when I was due.. and told me I look small. just weird. Lol

lala22
November 23rd, 2014, 11:42 AM
Robin- people are freaking ridiculous. I can't tell you how many people comment on me- mostly just how small I am which now is fine now but in the beginning made me feel like I just didn't look pregnant and looked pudgy instead or that my baby wasn't healthy because I was "so small". I'm not sure why everyone has to have an opinion especially when it's that your "big"- nobody wants to hear that and I'm sure you're not at all and shoot even if you are it's because you have a big healthy baby in there!

daisymoo
November 23rd, 2014, 04:28 PM
I've had the big comments too and just as many tell me that I'm small I say ignore them all Once you know that your baby is healthy that's the main thing Some people have no clue that they're actually being rude Take no notice And from your pic you are actually tiny anyway!!

Thanks for checking in Rosie :-) 2015 will definitely be your year!

I just try and take any size comments with a grain of salt. Most people are just trying to make conversation and don't always think before they speak. Plus, unless you're in the middle of it, it's hard to remember what XX weeks looks like, not to mention, everyone is different! People are always telling me how small I am, but I have a super long torso, so there'e just a lot of room before needing to go outwards, lol. I always carried small with Lyra, but she was born at 37 weeks and was 7.7lbs, so not small! I know I'm going to get anxious if this little guy goes much past that, but am trying not to count on it.

Disney was fun! It was actually Disneyworld, not land :-) since we're in FL, and was stressful at times, but so glad we did it. Hubby almost lost it a few times with all the crowds, but ended up having a good time in the end. We likely won't be doing another trip like that for a long time though, so I'm planning on making Lyra a cute album of all the pics so she can remember it! And man was it expensive!! But again, glad we did it :-)

lala22
November 24th, 2014, 03:17 PM
Oh that's right you are in Florida- for some reason I forgot. Hubby and I were talking about a Disneyworld trip since we've only ever been to Disneyland. I just love Disneyland!

And after many weeks of trying to decide on a name we've finally settled on the name Tess And it wasn't even on my list of names but I actually love it Anyone else decided on a definite name?

Today is the official start of the third trimester for me, and I have to say, I can tell, lol. The second trimester was a breeze this time, but I am now feeling all the lovely aches and pains of the third trimester coming on strong! The heartburn/re-flux is really getting to me, plus the back aches, and my poor poor ribs :-) Fun times! How's everyone else doing?

lala22
December 3rd, 2014, 03:03 PM
Well I'm only 17 days out from my due date so needless to say there are lots of aches and pains. Lol. I had heartburn with my daughter but NOTHING like with this guy and holy cow he gets me good in the ribs- never experienced that with Diella either. I have a ton of groin pain on my left side and overall can just tell I'll be giving birth soon. Fingers crossed it's fairly soon- hate to rush things and not enjoy this time but I'm just kind of ready to be done for now- haha.

My doctor didn't feel comfortable doing a version because of placenta placement, being a footling breech, and low fluid. He is also measuring pretty big. It's a bummer, and I am nervous, but I want what is safest for him.

9 days left!

Wow momto4 9 days is soooo close! So excited for you! And Lala u aren't far behind either! Time will certainly start flying once all these beautiful bubs are born!
Crazycat sorry to hear ur third trimester isn't off to a good start. I've been lucky in this third trimester to not get heartburn, but my poor old hips are copping a hard time. I did some Christmas shopping today and after a couple hours of continuous standing I got home and sat down only to get up again and realise my hips are so painful and I can barely walk. So frustrating with two little ones to chase around. I have 40 days to go now, and it's just crazy exciting to be starting a countdown! Xo

Crazycatcouple hope the next few weeks get easier for you I know that feeling in your ribs I think my little one is about 6 feet long she manages to get her legs right under mine too I'll miss that in a few weeks though!! Had a check up yesterday and the midwife thought my bump was measuring too small so she sent me for a scan to measure baby and they told me that baby is about 5lbs 11oz At 34 weeks this seems huge to me!!! This little woman could be a big one I'm hoping they over estimated a little bit! But baby is 100% healthy which is the main thing thank god

Daisymoo- that's perfect size!
You guys are all so close it's wonderful!

I'm going through old body envy myself. I am more than excited to have our baby girl don't get me wrong.. but I just feel like I'm packing on the weight in weird places like my legs and arms!. I also have very little control in sweets. I just feel like it's going to take me forever to lose weight and I worked very hard to lose it over the years up to baby. I was hoping not to feel.this way bc its my last pregnancy and i just want to enjou it

This is sounding bad I know. I promise you I don't normally complain, but it's just been bothering me now for the past week or so. I've started working out a bit again but nothing crazy.
Probably shouldn't have looked at old photos either. 😞

Robin- I'm having a harder time with body image this time around too- don't feel bad. I'm getting stretch marks around my belly button this time around which I wasn't expecting since I was free of them last time and I just feel HUGE- I'm nearly certain I am bigger this time. I too am trying to enjoy it but sometimes it's hard feeling like your body isn't yours anymore.

Robin- no mucous plug- I have my eye out for it though. I was super crampy and having back to back contractions and just felt off- thinking I was just dehydrated and exhausted though because after some water and sleep I seem to be better- still feel a bit off but that could just be my body getting ready in general.

Wow, so many are so close now!! The body image issue is normal I think. It's tough :-( I know I just don't care that much right now, but I feel like I'm going to be regretting that soon!! I eat so many sweets and just whatever sounds good. My appetite is huge with this one! But hopefully the worry about weight gain will be replaced by awe of our babies soon!

And I love all the super sweet names :-) Keep us posted ladies - can't wait for more baby pics!!

So exciting everyone! I'm due Saturday, and have had several false alarms. I'm sincerely hoping she makes her appearance Saturday. I know my midwife will be able to make it here without dealing with traffic, my mother will be in town to help with the boys, and her birthdate would be 12/13/14... how cool is that?!

Oh, and we've picked a name. I cannot believe it! DH and I always argue until the kid is half a day old, but this time we found something we BOTH like... Laia! It's unusual (a MUST for me!) as in, not even in the top 1000 baby names in the US, traditional for DH (his family has Catalonian roots, and this is a traditional name from Catalan,) and it's even one letter off from Leia (the only princess I've ever idolized!) I also have this weird thing about wanting everyone in the family to have a separate first initial, and we don't have an "L," so it's really perfect for us. No middle name yet, but that's something we can work on later :)

Any tips for kickstarting labor if I'm not starting by Friday afternoon? I'm thinking about trying "curb walking," and I've already started Evening Primrose Oil. I WOULD have sex... if I wasn't having so much pelvic pain!

lala22
December 8th, 2014, 10:38 PM
Lilith- I love the name! I can't believe your due Saturday- we're just a week apart though I have to be honest I was hoping for this week. What is curb walking? And how are you taking your evening primrose? I have been drinking my raspberry leaf tea, walking and having sex (lol) - the latter is what broke my water last time so I believe in it but we all know the truth is baby will come when baby is ready. Even though I don't plan on getting an epidural or pain relief I'm still a little anxious about making it to the hospital on time this go around- we've moved further away and my midwives seem to think this will be rather quick.

Robin, I LOVE the nursery decor so far!! Gorgeous :-)

Future, how funny that I didn't realize we shared a due date! These last couple months are going to be tough I think, but at least the holidays will distract us for a bit of it!!

Lilith, love the name! I too like unusual names, and think it's beautiful. As far as bringing on labor... I've heard there's a pressure point in the ankle that can help? Walking, lots and lots of walking :-) Fingers crossed she'll come on time for you!!

My mom keeps telling me that it would be very nice if our little guy could come on his due date so that it's easier for her, lol. Her first grandkid's bday is 10/25, her second's is 5/25, and this little guy's due date is 2/25, which would make it easy to remember her grandkid's birthdays, lol. We shall see!

Crazycat, u look tiny! I can't believe we started out on a TTC blue board together and are expecting our little guys soon! We have 35 days to go (haha I've switched from weeks to days now as it makes the countdown more exciting!)

LilithWiser1979
December 9th, 2014, 10:03 AM
Curb walking is walking with one foot on the sidewalk, and one foot on the street. You're supposed to go back and forth, so it's even on both sides, but I know several women who swear by this. Maybe the up and down motion shakes things up? IDK, I've never tried it before.

I take my EPO internally. I insert it up by the cervix and let the capsules melt overnight. I can't take them orally... I get diarrhea :(

I will totally try the curry Friday, but maybe for lunch. I have such heartburn and reflux issues, and I want to make sure I can sleep if everything doesn't go according to plan. Pineapple is another one I can't do, since I'm allergic to fresh pineapple (I get a plethora of little sores in my mouth when I eat it!) I wonder if cooked pineapple is supposed to work just as well?

Thanks for the pressure point tip, crazycat! I will look into that, and there's always nipple stimulation. Lala, I would not hesitate when you think you're going into labor. I was in SUCH denial that my period cramp-like discomfort all night was actually labor with DS2, I almost didn't make it to the birth center. He was born 17 minutes after we walked through the door. That second birth can go super quick! Good luck, and I hope everyone has a beautiful birth! This one will be my one and only home birth, and I'm excited that all I have to do when I feel labor coming on is to call the midwife and fill the bathtub :D

lala22
December 9th, 2014, 04:20 PM
Lilith- super jealous of your home birth- SO much easier and carefree not to worry about rushing to the hospital. Thanks for the advice on getting to the hospital on time- I'll not be in denial- haha. There is some sort of enzyme in the pineapple that does it so maybe taking that separately- I believe you can find it in vitamin form easily. Also, I had curry yesterday and it was delicious but did give me terrible heartburn so have some tums ready. I may have to try curb walking but in another neighborhood as we don't have any curbs- lol.

Oh Lilith and Lala - You both are so close now! I really can't wait to hear some news. I hope that everything goes smoothly for everyone who is close (and for those of us who are not, lol).

Love the name you picked out, Lilith! I always liked the unique names but my hubby and I always ended up agreeing on traditional ones more easily. I have a nephew named Orion and I just LOVE that!
Lala, there is a big storm headed our way soon. I hope that doesn't cause problems for you. They have really been talking up how major it is supposed to be.

Robin - I love your craftiness! I wish I had more time to do that sort of thing, but I don't even know if I would be good at that sort of thing anyway. We still have so much to do for the baby's room. It is still full of YDS toys and old bed and stuff. We really have to spend some time on that but it may not be until after the holidays.

I am so glad to be getting swept away with the Christmas excitement so far. It really feels like this might be the best Christmas since my mom passed! I have really, really enjoyed all the beginning festivity so far. And it does help pass the time. I hope everyone else's holidays are off to a good start so far.

lala22
December 9th, 2014, 05:56 PM
Future- they keep talking about it but we'll see. I feel like the news gets so worked up over normal, natural weather and freaks everyone out and then it's nothing- haha. Thursday and Friday seem to be the worst of it so as long as I don't go into labor then we're ok.That's one of the bummers of being due during winter- potential bad weather on the way to the hospital- that and all of the germs out there. My 4 year old is currently sick and I am trying so hard not to get it- can you imagine being in labor congested?! Oy

I'm so close to being finished with Christmas stuff, yet I still have a lot to do, lol. The presents are pretty much bought, but I have a lot of wrapping to do still. And this weekend will be dedicated to making tons of fudge and decorating cookies for little gifts. Then I need to create a few photo albums for the grandparents and great grandparents. We have people starting to arrive as early as Monday, and we're doing our large family Christmas the weekend before when everyone can be here, so we're running out of time fast! I am really enjoying the season though, and it's a nice distraction from the pregnancy. Once Christmas is over though, it'll be time to get down to business on the baby stuff!

Hey Ladies- hope everyone is well and can't wait to see all these babies! Hope things go well, Lala!
I Was in the hospital Mon being monitored for high blood pressure. It was 143/100 and he was going to recheck it after he did my pelvic exam to check any progress-- well I went in shock when he said I was already 3cm/80%/-2 station. So when they rechecked my BP it was 180/110!! Finally came down to an acceptable level after a couple hours so I got to go home or else he was going to induce me. Have to go back first thing in the am to have a NST/biophysical profile and ultrasound done to check on baby's growth. Think he might still want to induce if I still have hypertension. Kinda crazy I might have the baby by tomorrow night- ack- but shouldn't worry or else my BP will be high for sure. Just wanted to check in!

Not until Jan 7!! Scared out of my mind right now to maybe go 3 1/2 weeks early :/ But I should trust the Drs judgment from the tests tomorrow to make sure baby is ready. He told me the other day that preeclampsia can come on fast esp in women who have had a lot of babies. Not sure what will happen tomorrow but will try to update if I get good WiFi there.

Wow, Abi- So sorry you had to go through that experience too- and a few weeks earlier along too when it's probably even scarier! My only consolation right now is that I will be full term next week and knowing baby even though I'm so nervous about the testing they're going to do this morning at 8:30 am. No clue at all what they're looking for on the ultrasound or monitoring except baby's growth, but I made the mistake of googling it and it seems they are also looking for baby's responses too. I'm hoping they say all is well and let me keep waiting, but I'm not going to argue if he says it's best xx.

Geez ladies- what's up with all of the pre-E?! I'm sure all babies are doing well. I again, thought yesterday was "the day" as I woke up unable to sleep and SUPER crampy and alas it was not. Now that he hasn't come by this weekend I do hope he waits until the end of the weekend- we have two parties to attend. Good luck yahmama and keep us posted!

Yahmama
December 12th, 2014, 02:32 PM
Hope your little guy lets you have fun at your parties before making his arrival, Lala!

Baby looked good on ultrasound today and they estimate about 6.5 lbs now. BP is still high, but it's not pre-e yet only "hypertension" but he does want to induce me as soon as I turn 37 weeks, so they scheduled me for 7 am Wed. morning 12/17 to go in for induction. Kinda scared and kinda excited. I was only induced with my first and pitocin was the worst. But hoping since I'm already 3 cm that I might possibly be more progressed by then to not need so much? or maybe he could just break my water to get things going? I guess we'll see, but I'm glad to have at least 5 more days to prepare!

lala22
December 12th, 2014, 04:28 PM
Hoping for you they don't need pitocin. Maybe try to stimulate labor as much as you can now? Maybe they can break your water/ strip membranes first. In any case glad baby looks healthy!

Wow, that picture came out bigger than I meant it to! It's hard to see (at the bottom of the gargantuan pic!) but I wrote my birth story in a blog post.

Awwee lala I feel you. I was 40 weeks and 4 days with my last little guy and it sucked. I tried everything! He also had Maconium from being overdue. So it got complicated. A girlfriend of mine just had a baby at 11 days past due! Crazy how comfy they get in there!
But don't worry she will be here soon..
The best advice I ever got was sex, sex sex. Lol. So uncomfortable at the end of pregnancy but I think that's what brought on my last labour in the end. Oh and a full moon.

lala22
December 21st, 2014, 04:33 PM
Oh god- 11 days past due?! NOOOOOOOOOO. I keep hearing boys stay in longer- so over it. And I know the meconium thing can be an issue with being overdue and I want a water birth so I'm not sure how that would affect that. I just never expected my subsequent pregnancies to go longer than the first. Live and learn I guess. Daisymoo I am drinking it daily. I also have been eating pineapple and walking and squats daily, sex as often as I can handle it (lol) and warm relaxing baths. I'm about to go partake in some spicy sushi and see if that does anything. I know we're supposed to relax and just let things happen but boy is it hard.

So I'm. Actually thinking of doing a water birth. Last birth as well but the midwife told me that bc of Maconium we had to go to hospital. That could have been bc it was a vbac though too. Do you have the birthing tub lala? I can't wait to hear your birth story bc I'm really wanting to try water birth buy am nervous to not be at hospital. Did you have home birth last baby?

lala22
December 21st, 2014, 10:30 PM
Robin- I got to a birthing center attached to a hospital and they have birthing tubs. I wanted a home birth but our insurance just doesn't cover it. This is the next best thing:-) I had a water birth last time and it was wonderful!

Georgia_Peach
December 21st, 2014, 10:59 PM
Awwee awesome a birthing center. You must be in the states? I don't know if we even have any here..😐

Yikes a tummy a bug while prego? That just sounds awful. I still have no baby and have to admit I have never felt so inpatient or annoyed in my life. I so don't want to have him on Christmas Eve/Christmas because I want to spend it with family at home not in a hospital so we'll see. I'm trying to meditate on just letting things be- haha. We'll see how that goes.

Sorry ladies I haven't updated.

Austin Jacob was born via c-section on 12/12. 7 pounds 15oz, 19 3/4 inches. Head was 15inches! they had a hard time getting his head out lol He was breech, so my 1st c-section. Everything went well, but the recovery was harder then I expected. Feeling pretty good now at 12 days PP. he nurses well, and is already now 8 pounds 6oz! Love him to bits and even though I swayed for a girl, I couldn't imagine him not being here. He makes our family complete (and I had a tubal lol)

A couple pics :)

Oh no! I hope she feels better soon. I feel like we might now have a cold settling in on the house. My youngest guy seems to be coming down with one and I feel a little like one is getting to me. AND, my DH now probably has the stomach bug that we all had. I was really hoping he wouldn't get it. I know it sucks, but he is a really big baby about stuff like this.

Oh ladies, I am so sorry for those of you fighting sickness in the house! That is never fun, but even worse timing right now :-( Sending healing thoughts your way!!

Lilith, she is absolutely gorgeous!

Momto4, he is precious and a very handsome little guy :-)

Lala, here's to hoping your little girl gets better asap and that your little guy comes very soon after! You were early with your daughter, right? How early? I'm sure it's even harder to wait it out when you were expecting another early one. He'll be here soon though, I'm sure :-)

Oh, and a late Merry Christmas to everyone!! We've had family in town, so it's been hectic, but nice. They all leave on Tuesday, so then it will be back to normal and down to business with this baby stuff!

lala22
December 26th, 2014, 11:25 AM
Yes my little girl was early- not by much but 5 days so once I hit that point things started slowing down a lot. Now I'm 6 days past due and just dying, so uncomfortable, belly itches and my skin is going numb from stretching so much- oy- cannot wait for him to get here already.

crazycatcouple
December 26th, 2014, 11:46 AM
Ugh, that does not sound like fun, but I guess he's pretty comfy in there :-) How long will your doctor let you go over? I know some will go to 42 weeks, but others stop at 41.

I was almost a full 3 weeks early with my daughter, so I know I'm going to be very anxious once that point hits. I'm trying not to expect him early, but still...it's hard not to!

kitkat18
December 26th, 2014, 02:02 PM
Lala you poor thing! My DS1 was one week early so once 39 weeks rolled round I was ready for DS2 to come out!! He took a further week and it felt like forever, have you done a stretch and sweep? That's what got things moving for me, good luck cant wait to see pics xx

lala22
December 26th, 2014, 02:09 PM
I think as long as we're both healthy they'll let it go to 42 weeks. I've done some reading and am just not sure which I feel more comfortable with (being induced prior to 42 or waiting until the last possible minute). Tomorrow is my non stress test so most likely I'll have them do the stretch and sweep tomorrow then. My fingers are just crossed he makes his appearance today/tonight.

sweetdream
December 26th, 2014, 02:28 PM
Lala it must be hard. He'll be here soon.
My eldest called a false alarm at 32wks. So I just hoped he would stay till at least 37 WK's. Then the waiting started. And I lost mucus plug at 37.4 and he arrived at 40.3.
Second one my blood pressure got high. (No PE just a bit of a rise cause of the white coats and labor comming close)
The doc wanted to induce. I wanted a home birth.
He wanted to stretch and sweep? And he was born that evening at 39 WK's

Youngest bit of the same. Blood pressure got up. Doc thought nothing was wrong Could stay with midwife as long as I came back for ctg in 5 days. I sayd i'll make the appointment but he will be born by then. Monday check up midwife. I had lots of BH for 4 days by then. So she checked and stretched and sweeped. But I was already 4cm(she didn't tell me) 4 hours later he was born. At 38.2.

This pg is tough. So I expect not to go past 38 lots. On the other hand you'll see I go over 40 this time lol.

lala22
December 26th, 2014, 08:25 PM
Sweetdream fingers crossed my little guy will make his appearance tonight so I can avoid the sweep. We will see.

SO my non-stress test went well- baby looks great and really that's all that matters. My cervix is still at a 2 and hasn't thinned out anymore so I decided against stripping my membranes- it just sounds like my cervix isn't ready anyway and therefore probably wouldn't have worked. I go in again Monday or Tuesday and will definitely have them stripped then - I have 7 days to get this guy out before they induce me so one way or another I'll have a baby in the next week. Time is officially going to slow to a crawl.

Looking forward to hearing news from Lala! Maybe no news right now means her little man arrived, but she's tied up for the moment :-)

Oncue, are you the next one due?

My family finally left yesterday, so now we're ready to get down to business on this baby stuff :-) And a couple friends of mine just told me they're throwing me a sprinkle, which is oh so sweet of them. Can't wait to meet this little guy!!

How's everyone feeling? I am 32 weeks today and definitely feeling like I'm not sure how I'm going to make it, lol. Things are getting really hard!

Yep due in 13 days. Part of me wants time to fly so we can meet him but part of me doesn't mind waiting longer as I'm really enjoying this time with our DDs. I can't believe sometimes how we are so lucky to be given the opportunity to love and raise these little people, and how much they just give back to us even when they are so young.
I have been having very emotional days again (like in first trim) where I am so overwhelmed with good and bad emotions, everything makes me cry hahaha! DH usually has to leave the room so he can have a laugh behind my back hahaha.
So excited for this new year and can't wait to hear more baby news! Xo happy 2015 🎉

Happy new years ladies!

I think I might have lost my mucus plug today, but from what I can tell, it's not a big deal unless it's accompanied by contractions and such. I think I'm just going to wait and see how it goes. I have a doctors apt on Tuesday, so I'll ask them about it then. I'm 32 weeks, so too early for him to arrive for sure!

CCC how much of your plug has come away, and more importantly, was it pink/ blood streaked? If it was or if it was a lot then I would call your midwife/ hospital right away as it can be a sign of early labour! If it wasn't and wasn't much/ not smelly or discoloured then don't panic too much but deffo mention it. The plug can regenerate to a certain extent but don't overdo it; mine came away in little bits during my last trimester (sorry for tmi but every now and again there would be some thickish/ sticky mucus when I wiped after using the loo; about as much as when you blow your nose when you have a cold and it was creamy colour, never pink).

Good luck ladies with your new arrivals! :) xx

Hey crazycat, I'm not sure what that means, but hopefully it's all ok and bub stays in a little longer. I think if you aren't experiencing contractions that's def a good sign x

There was no pink to it at all, but it was quite a bit. I'm having a hard time determining if it was in fact the plug or just lots of extra mucus from being pregnant. In early pregnancy I had lots of extra, but it seemed to stop, so this time when there was so much, it concerned me. Sorry for the tmi... It was thick, but not hard at all. Since there was no blood at all in it though, I'm thinking it's probably safe. I may go ahead and just give my doctors office a call today, just in case. Thanks ladies!

Oh my goodness ladies. I'm so sorry I haven't posted sooner. I tried to in the hospital during some downtime but found it difficult on my phone. My little guy arrived all on his own at 41 weeks and 1 day RIGHT AFTER my non-stress test. I had an incredibly short (and mostly easy) labor and he was born Sunday at 11 a.m. He weighed 9 lbs and 15 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long!!! I have NO idea where I fit all of that baby or where that weight came from as it doesn't run in the family, my DD was a mere 7 lbs 4 oz. This time around overall has been much easier though I had forgotten how long it takes to get the hang of breastfeeding. Here's my not so little guy:

Congrat lala to your perfect little son and happy New Year to everybody...

On the 16th I will have my caesarean (unfortunately I will never have the joy of a natural birth) and I am really looking forward to hold my little daughter in my arms (well on one hand definitely but on the other hand I am really afraid if I can handle all the three of them and that I hopefully don’t get a baby like the last one who was only crying for four month…).

After having regularly contractions in week 34 I had to go to hospital for one night and now I have to take a lot of medicine and to lay as much as I can. But this is not so easy with a son with pneumonia and a husband with a serious man influenza ;-)….

All of you will have the possibility of a natural birth or I am not the only one with a caesarean?
It makes me really sad that I will have three children and could never experience a natural birth ☹. But safety comes first…

Wishing you all the best for your last weeks…

Castch- why have you had only c-sections? I'm sorry to hear you won't be getting your dream birth- this can be really hard to cope with.

Georgia_Peach
January 3rd, 2015, 05:25 PM
Castch- my first birth was induced at 37 weeks and after 36 hrs of labour maxed out pitocin I was forced to have a c section bc my Dr was leaving. Her shift was over.
Next child I met with an OB and she told me pretty much right away that a c-section was my only option . I left her office and got a midwife instead bc I wanted to avoid another section. Long story short I was able to have a successful vbac at the hospital with help from my midwives. A huge baby at that.!
This one I've gone the same route.
Now having said that.. there are many times where you wouldn't be able to do a natural eg (breech baby/small cervix) etc. Also i have to be closely monitored during labour bc my uterus could rupture from the scar. Very scary.
Just bc you don't have a vaginal birth doesn't mean you aren't experiencing a wonderful miracle! . I know how hard recovery is with one though. But sometimes baby has other plans on how she wishes to enter the world. As long as you and baby are healthy.. that's all that matters!!😊

Thx for you post Lala and thx Robin for sharing you experience and I am happy for you that you could have a natural birth after a c section..

My first son was in breech presentation and didn't turn that is why I had my first c section.
My second son was in breech presentation until one week before the planned c section and then he turned. I decided to try a natural birth. At a very early stage (retrospectively I realised it) the scar ruptured but they only realized it after 12 hours of contractions without any stoma, when the heart beats of my son got down at every contraction and my uterus was already full of blood. This was very dangerous for my son and me that is why my doctor told me if I want to have another baby the only way would be by c section.
This time my little girl turned at an early stage and is pushing to get out for a few weeks now ;-) (that is why I have to take medicine).
The closer the birth gets the more I start thinking if I shouldn’t try it again naturally but I am really afraid of the risks… Maybe my son cried for four months because he had a really bad and life-threatening start in life and I am still terrified by the last emergency c section…

Wow castch that's scary with the rupture of the scar! I can imagine how much you are wanting to have that vbac but honestly I wouldn't risk it. It definitely sounds like you are making the best decision here for sure. I was told that if the scar ruptures it's a matter of minutes before I could die and the baby as well!
Just think of all the wonderful things about the birth plan. You know your babies birthday now! You can pre arrange this at home and prepare for her arrival. That's awsome!

Castch i think you would find an elective c section much more controlled and peaceful than emergency c sections. I too had to have two emergency c sections and I am planning an elective for this baby. Only you know what's right for you and your baby good luck!! X

castch
January 4th, 2015, 02:10 PM
You are both right.
It is maybe just the feeling that you are a mother but not a real one because you never had the chance to go through the real experience of a natural birth. Maybe it is just an egoistic feeling because you want to be proud of yourself and want to Proof to yourself that you can stand this painful experience....
But you are right as always it is now the moment to concentrate on the positive Things of an elective c section...

Kitkat why did you have two emergency c sections?

January 5th, 2015, 04:40 AM
Hey castch both boys were in the posterior position and did not turn in labour they also both refused to engage! With both boys I stopped progressing naturally at about 7cm dilation, with the first we did sintocin and got to 10cm, pushed for one and a half hours only to be told by obstetrician it was not going to happen naturally for me! DS2 they likewise reviewed me at about 38 weeks said my chances were not good for a vbac, big baby and posterior not engaging again but I tried anyway.... Much shorter this time though as soon as I stopped progressing the obstetrician came and checked said there was no hope and I went straight into theatre. I actually didn't feel disappointed I would have liked to have given birth naturally but for me the most important thing is to have a healthy baby and I still got to experience labour :) . This little lady is also posterior! I think if your scar had not ruptured I would say go for a vbac as she is in the right position but because of that I would listen to your doctor and schedule an elective. I have a few friends who have had an elective after an emergency and they found it sooooo much better, faster recovery, calm, peaceful and not so tiring or draining. Good luck!! Xxxx

Congratulations Lala on your little/big guy!! He's adorable :-) It is crazy to think how he fit in there though as you were so tiny! Glad to hear the labor was fairly fast and easy though.

Castch, please don't ever think you are less of a mom for not having a vaginal birth!! That's just crazy talk :-) And proving that you can do it is sort of silly, in my opinion too... how about proving you can raise them to be good people! There are many moms out there who couldn't conceive on their own and either needed help or had to adopt, but that doesn't make them less of a mom. I know you know that too, so don't think poorly of yourself for something even less so. I can totally understand wanting to experience it, definitely, but know that no matter how your baby arrives, you are a fantastic mother and just as much of one as any of the rest of us!

Thx for you posts kitkat and cracycatcouple..

Wow kitkat, you really tried it two times and you are both right an elective c-section has it advantages and being a good mother has nothing to do with this….

Hope that your pregnancies proceed well and we can soon see more healthy babies…

My yellow Christmas day due date bump finally arrived on 2nd Jan and turned BLUE!!!! I am so so in love with him and have no GD so I am very happy :) I cannot wait to see my boys relationship grow and feel blessed and my family complete.

Birth was traumatic, I had elective section last time as he was breech, I really wanted a natural vbac. My waters broke at 3am new years day and nothing happened. I bounced for 21 hours but ended up with a pessary to be induced and contractions strated straight away, I went from 3-fully dilated in 1.5 hours of pure agony. I pushed for over an hour and baby was getting vtired and hb kept dropping. All of a sudden it was urgent and people flooded in the room, I was rushed to theatre and spinal put in, all while 2 midwives were pushing on my tummy to keep hb contact, it kept going down to 60/70 then stopping and slowy back up. Doc tried to manually turn him as he was stuck but he turned back, forceps went in but couldnt get him so I had an emergency c section. I started to feel pain about half way through and was put under general.
Strangely I feel ok about it all and better mentally than my elective, I am very proud to have achived what I did and most importnat is my boy is here safe xx
