Hi,
today it is the first time that I dare to write something here in this forum. I found this homepage some months ago (around spring time) - unfortunately too late..., because otherwise I havenīt been to North Cyprus twice.... My biggest wish on earth is to have a girl. I thought a long time that I am very alone with this wish. And with this feeling I started my first IVF/PGD last October. It was an IVF clinic in North Cyprus (name the same). 10 eggs were picked, 9 of them were fertilized -> 7 boys and 2 girls. The two girls were transfered, but I didnīt get pregnant. They said that the quality of all of them were good... That time I didnīt know much about qualities and everything. Very soon, this January, I wanted to try it again. I chose the North Cyprus IVF Clinic, because they offered Microsort. I wanted to increase the number of girls. The clinic wanted a semen analysis first. Unfortunately, we did this only acouple days before we started the treatment. The outcome was horrible: Only 8 Million and so they said that with this result Microsort would not work. I was so under pressure (unfortunately), wanted to go there as soon as possible (all was planned and booked; we never thougt that there could be problems with his sperm, because in the other clinic they did not say that the quality or amount is not good; we have a little boy, now aged 16 months -> he came the first attempt) and decided to fly with my husband to Cyprus. They said that we can do the semen analysis again in Cyprus and gave him supplements. But they did not give great hope. And in fact, the sperm was even worse (5 Mio). So we didnīt make Microsort, just PGD. I had 15 eggs, but only 9 developped. Only four of the nine eggs could be fertilized and only one egg was was a girl...of not good quality. They said that they would not transfer it (and should pay 2000 Euros less), but I was so stupid and refused this offer. In that moment I thought that maybe in the future I would always think that maybe this fertilized agg could have been my daugther... We were very confused after this jouney...of the bad quality of my husbandīs sperm and my eggs...we were puzzled and I started to read very much in the www - this time not only on the websites of the clnics, but now in forums like this what I should have done before!!
We want to have a last attempt. Dr. Potter is too expensive after our first two attempts. We think of Genesis or ****. **** is better, because it was sometimes very hard to have the trips with our little son. And we have to stay many days there. To **** we would only drive three hours and could drive home in the meantime. Have some been to **** this year/in the meantime? I read about longingforagirl and that she didnīt have a transfer... Now we think that genesis is better, but I am not so satisfied with the mails of Mr Savvas. He didnīt really answered my questions. Now the clinic is closed. Maybe one of you who went there can give me some information...?
How many days do you have to spend there? The last times I flew to Cyprus on day 12 of my menstrual period and stayed there for 10 days. Is it the same there? On which day of your menstrual peeriod did you fly? Mr Savvas wrote that he can do the treatment whenever I want or did I understand him wrong? I only should say him a frame time...
Do the scans or anything like that cost additionaly?
And my question of most importance: We prefer genesis at the moment because of his sperm sort method. We had very few girls the last two times we want to increase the number of girls. The women who already went there: How many girls and how many boys did you have as outcome? Did he say this? Do you really have the impression that his method works? I couldnīt find anything about this fact in the forum.
Oh, now I wrote very long. I promise that I wonīt write so much every time;-)
