HCG and implantation

Am I correct in thinking hcg is only present after implantation has occured?

I'm asking because, at this point, I think I am past implantation and have had brownish/pinkish tinged CM....just wondering what could be causing this. :)

Either AF is coming or simply blood that's from implantation and just old.

Yes, right.

What happens is, your cervix is very soft at this point, tons of hormones and blood flow and sometimes it makes a little spotting happen. There is also increased vaginal discharge as your body starts making the mucus plug and this can dilute even a miniscule amount of blood and make it seem like more than it really is. So I know it's nervewracking to see, but the majority of the time, it's just spotting and nothing comes out of it.
