Hi there

Just a post to introduce myself and maybe get some opinions on my planned sway. I have been lurking for a good year and we are finally planning to start TTC from October! This will be my first time TTC but my logic is to try and sway for my DG first (with a 'mellow yellow' type approach) and if successful I can move to a do nothing approach for subsequent pregnancies. I really don't want to stress myself out and I figure it isn't the end of the world if we don't end up conceiving a boy, we are happy to have a lovely bundle of either gender :).

I think I am already inadvertently swaying boy a little just out of normal habit and general circumstances but we will see. I am starting my diet from now and my first aimed o date will be about 30/10 (my cycles are very regular, at about 33days with o on CD-18).

Background: Early 30s, have been off BC for a good two years (and never going back!), exercise cardio every day (cycling, jogging, walking), have very low cholesterol (below normal range), very high iron levels (may be iron overload but unconfirmed), high vitamin D levels. BMI of 19, relatively low BP. Cycles are very regular, with very light AF. I am prone to hormonal acne and get cyclical migraines but don't get much else in the way of hormonal related symptoms.

DIET
More or less a HE diet
Will be eating every two hours (already snack a lot but will be diligently snacking alot! :))
Already eat most of these things but will be adding a few new ones

Typical day:
Breakfast: Weetbix, Wheatgerm, toast(on weekend with PB and vegemite)
Snacks: Ryvitas, Peanut Butter, Vegemite, Miso Soup, Salted Nuts
Fruit: Banana, Avocado(new), Pears
Lunch: Greens (Spinach, Kale, Lettuce), Tuna in oil/Bacon/Cheese
Drinks: V8(new), Milo, Milk (full cream/almond), Gelatine(already drinking for other reasons), Horlicks (nighttime), loads of water,
Teeccino (drinking instead of coffee - also just read recently that it has lots of potassium and raises pH TEECCINO - Caffeine Free Herbal Coffee Australia Sydney Melbourne Brisbane Perth Adelaide Gold Coast Canberra Tasmania Darwin Cairns (http://www.teeccino.com.au/about.html))
Dinner: Could be anything with meat/eggs and rice/pasta/noodles and whatever vegetables

SUPPLEMENTS
Folate and iodine, Vit C(new), DIM (not sure that this will help sway but have been taking to prevent bad cystic acne which started after I stopped BC), Zinc (have been taking for other health reasons)

TIMING
Not really a fan of the timing thing - I looked into this extensively and it seems like there is so much conflicting evidence about it. So we are just going to do BD from early October every 4 days - I'm intending this to be a 'more likely to actually get pregnant' strategy rather than anything else.

EXERCISE
I have been backing off on the cardio a bit and have already started slowly on the weight lifting whic I have been enjoying a lot.

Once I have actually made an attempt I will put in some more detail of what I actually did and hopefully be able to update with some results!! Any opinions/comments while I am still in the early stages would be greatly appreciated :)

Looks great other than timing. While I agree timing doesnt sway, in your shoes I'd do every other day until you are fertile (test using OPK if possible) and then once you get a positive OPK try to have 3 attempts in the next 2 days. Most of us boy mom's got blue bundles from lots of attempts!

Oh I should add every other day (plus the extra attempts at positive opk) will only help you very pg sooner compared to the every 4 day thing.

You can add fish oil and a multivitamin for both you and DH!

Thank you! It is good to get some feedback from boy mom's. I am certainly not averse to adding more attempts ;) so will definitely try that. The best of luck for TTC a baby girl!!

Thanks Jana, I had read about fish oil but completely forgotten about it - so thanks for reminding me, I will look into adding it in :). DH is on the multivitamins but I am a little bit hesitant to take them still because of my high iron and D - most multivitamins seem to have both. I was looking at a men's multivitamin since they don't generally have iron but I want to check with my doctor first!

Thanks for mentioning the TTC Blue in October thread I will def check it out :)

BTW that picture of your daughter is beautiful :)

supplement: add fish oil (had it daily and didnt kn this sway boy before i join genderdreaming)

timing: BD on every 2days on your peak period. (timing doesnt sway but i got my ds1 on 2days prior O and Oday then ds2 on 4days and 2days prior O, hence i believe 2days BD freq does sway boy)

diet: more salty foods (potato chips, sausages) and i was banana lover prior conceive my boys.

good luck and sending all my blue dusts to u ~~~~

Most looking great - what is the deal with the supps?? ARe you not taking a straight prenatal? Or can't you due to the high Vit. D and high iron?

How much zinc?

I totally agree with this. I think every 4 days is not quite often enough for a little man.

Oh sorry should have read entire thread before answering. IN that case I'd also add in B complex

Thank you princess charlotte! Great to get another mother of boys opinion. I have incorporated fish oil in to my sway now after the suggestions here, and will definitely do the every other day for BD rather than every 4 days. And from this week I will be eating more salty snacks - I honestly thought I would be getting alot of sodium in what I had been eating but after tracking it for a week I'm not actually getting as much as I thought!! Love potato chips though so adding more is not a problem! ;)

All the best of luck for your pink sway!!

Thanks atomic!

I hadn't even thought of the B complex - we have a giant tub in the cupboard for DH so I will start taking too. I have also added in fish oil based on the other ladies suggestions. I have been following the diet for about a week now and I think apart from these two add ins and the BD timing I don't think I need to alter too much, except for more salt! I actually haven't been getting as much as I thought. Doc will be happy as he has told me to up it in the past to help with poor circulation :)

Otherwise I have been on average eating about 200 cals more than I burn, and am at about 90-100g of protein a day with plenty of potassium. Eating a little bit more has actually been more of a challenge than I though!! But i think I have settled in to it now and it will be almost second nature :D

Thank you so much for your input - once I have an attempt in I will add details to the log you have going :)

I don't even think sodium sways blue, so if you're getting 3000-4000 mg a day I would just stick with that. The 5000-6000 mg that is advised on some sites is not healthy and I do not think it helps people get boys anyway.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions - I feel much more comfortable with my sway now!

I know we will be happy with whatever happens, but there is no harm in hoping! :D Atomic, it was great to read your back story in the 'How we got our boys' thread :) :)
