boy
DW Age:
32
DH Age:
31
Current Children's Gender(s)
Boy-5
Boy-3
Number of Months TTC
4
Did you purchase and follow a GD Personalized Plan?
Yes
DIET
Did you follow a diet plan?
Yes
If yes to diet, which one did you most follow? LE(Low Everything)

Comments regarding DW's diet changes-
Before I started LE, I was eating very boy friendly foods. I was drinking Shakeology daily, lots of almonds, quinoa, greek yogurt, peanut butter, Ezekiel bread, ect. Although I had already been a vegetarian for about a year before starting the diet, LE was a huge change for me! I started out SUPER strict at first and tracking everything, but I felt like I was being too "Martha" about it and relaxed on the sodium portion and focused more on low nutrient foods. By the end I was eating a lot of white carbs which is something I never did before.
If diet was used, length of time before attempt?
6 months

The last couple months were focused more on low nutrient and not getting overly obsessive about keeping track of every little thing. I felt like that was going to hurt my sway more.
Did you skip breakfast regularly?
Yes
Did DH change his diet with you?
No
Comments regarding DH's diet-
DH limited meat the first couple months, but after that didn't want to anymore.
DId you consume alcohol? A couple of drinks per week

DId you try to limit caffeine?
No, I drink caffeine regularly
Any Diet Details?
For awhile skipping breakfast and not snacking was easy, but it got harder as time went on. I was very consistent on not having breakfast, but snacking was a little harder towards the end.
Any Diet Comments/Additional Info?
-
WEIGHT AND EXERCISE
What did you weigh/BMI do leading up to O?
113--BMI--22.1
Any Weight/Exercise related additional info/comments?
I went from doing 30 min. 6 days a week of exercise which involved weights to doing 60 min of cardio 4-6 times a week (for 6 months). That was a big change for me. I feel like I lost a lot of muscle mass.
THINGS in VG and CONCEPTION DATE(CD) INFO
pH Before Starting a Sway Program, if known

Any VG potions used? NO

How many BD attempts did you make for the BFP cycle?
1
BD Dates according to Ovulation 1 Day Before O

Any additional comments?
DH's morphology is on the low end and I wasn't getting pregnant, so I used a little bit of preseed.

I was being followed by an RE due to my luteal phase defect. I took 5mg of Femara this cycle because clomid dried me up so much to the point there was no way the sperm were going to survive.

DH went in the hot tub the night of our attempt for about 10 min.

Did you Jump and Dump? No

Any relevant attempt details?

SUPPLEMENTS USED
DW Supplements Vitex
Clomid
Baby asprin
folic acid
Fiber
Antihistamine
Saw Palmetto

DH Supplements
-
Any additional supplement info?
I started off with a kitchen sink sway taking vitex, baby aspirin, fiber, antihistamine, and saw palmetto.

On my third cycle of TTC I dropped vitex, saw palmetto, and aspirin (after seeing it wasn't safe) to try clomid. Clomid didn't work for me.

The fourth month I took 5mg of Femara and stuck with the Fiber and folic. I went through about 3 huge Costco things of Fiber capsules in the past 6 months on the diet!
Did you do anything with Ions?
I had some lavender bath wash but didn't think much of it.
Moon Phase during conception?
-
Did you use any Old Wives Tales?
No. I wanted to but a little girl's outfit, but DH said it would jinx it.
Things that make me feel great about my sway:
Being on the diet for so long and exercising. Knowing my fertility was decreased since it took so much longer to get pregnant than it did previously with my boys. Sticking with low nutrient foods for so long. DH having low morphology so his fertility was decreased too. I was also at my lowest conception weight and about 17 pounds lighter than the last time I conceived. Not taking any fertility increasing supplements like I did with my boys.
Things that make me nervous about my sway:
Having to use preseed. Also, even though I was sticking to low nutrient foods towards the end, I was not tracking so I could have been going over my limits.
Things worth mentioning:
I am just so excited to be adding to our family! I will still be beyond thrilled with another boy if that's what's meant to be!! =)

Thank you atomic for all your help!

The tech predicted boy at my NT scan, but the nub wasn't captured on the pic. How come everyone else's sway worked but mine? I'm so deflated.

13 weeks is very early to be predicting anything to be honest I wouldn't give up hope yet!

Update: It's a boy. I can't believe I ate like crap for 6 months and it didn't even work. I wonder what I did wrong. This is the second boy I've convinced from one attempt as well.

I don't know what the future holds, but I hope to get my girl someday.

3 girl you did a pretty amazing kitchen sink sway so don't beat yourself up over that , I guess there are just no guarantees with swaying, sending you hugs this little dude was meant to be!! X

Your sway was SO SO fantastic and honestly this whole TTC process just isn't fair. You did everything you could on your side to have a girl and there must be a very special boy growing inside of you who wanted to be a part of your family. I wish you absolutely all the best and lots of love and support in the coming days :)

What Junie said - clearly this little boy was determined to join your family! You really went all out, so I really think it was a factor beyond your control (whether biological or just fate). Would HT be an option for you down the road?

I'm beating myself up for things I could have done differently. I really don't think we will be able to afford another kid, let alone HT although I don't know what the future holds. I'm dreading all the comments I'm going to be hearing from people. I wish I could go into hiding.

3girl, I'm next to you! I really think you did a GREAAAAT SWAY and I just think this baby was meant to be!

Hei, we do our best..some are luckier to have their desired gender AND the others are still lucky to have a healthy baby inside.
I'm on the side where it seems I'm very unlucky to get false positive opk///pregnancy tests and not be pregnant although I also did my best to get pregnant and feel I did everything good.

I think this is beyond us, this is nature and nature comes from God!
I am SURE you will adore this little baby when he will be born and will be a wonderful joy in your family and a perfect little brother for your older son!

Other than starve yourself and smoke heavily while using cocaine continuously I seriously don't think you could have done anything more. Please don't beat yourself up or second-guess yourself bc you truly had an incredible sway. To the point that I wonder if the dr is wrong and you actually have a girl in there (not that I encourage this line of thought, just saying that's how surprised I am).

Unfortunately there are so many factors that sway that we can't control. But I know that knowing that probably doesn't change how you feel. Do you believe in fate/God? My faith is one of the few things that really helps in a situation like yours.

As for comments, I would tell everyone you're team green or that the baby had its legs crossed or that you're keeping it a surprise, whatever you have to say to prevent comments in the first place. That way you can use the time until the baby comes to adjust emotionally, and I'm sure once he's in your arms you will feel so much better.

Will your older boys be excited about another brother?

Thanks for the support girls, I just typed out a long response on my phone and lost it. I'm too frustrated to type it out again. I know I will come to terms with it at some point, I have to for the sake of my little guy. My sons really wanted a sister. They were disappointed but have already moved on. I'm bitter that most people I know get their desired gender and I struck out 3 times. Here's one of the pics from my ultrasound.

Oh I hate losing posts. And I'm sorry your boys are disappointed too - though I bet they will be thrilled with DS3 when he arrives.

As for the ultrasound, yes it looks like a boy but not the extent that I'd bet my life on it. Wishing you peace & acceptance when you're ready for them. In the meantime you have every right to feel what you do.
